Only review on CD'S you have..........2005-04-13
Thankfully, we have this genre called Hip Hop to quench our thirst for our everyday lives. Not everyone understands the significants of this particular genre...*ahem* Felix Schulz "Catburycatfish" whatever your name is, but one things for sure..in America we have this thing called VARIETY. Many different types of music. I, for one appreciate ALL OF THEM...even classical suprisingly..EXCEPT 4 COUNTRY. Sorry...could never stand it.Some people like hip hop(not mainstream commercial "RAP")...some people don't, but hey...i suggest you stick to your own type of music and stop Reviewing on Albums YOU DON'T EVEN OWN! Hey Mr. Felix...just try sticking to Manhattan Trinity, Elvis Costello, Louis Nunley, Mimi Fox, Miles Davis, Lyle Lovett, Patrick Zimmerli, tommy Young, and your Fake Stupid Tropical Rain Forrest BIRD SOUNDS, alright homeboy? Thanks. Peace.
P.S. best track on cd is "simply ludicrous".

Not What I Was Expectin.......2005-01-14
Fist of all, this isn't really a Poppa Wu album. For those who don't know, Poppa Wu is not a rapper. He is an elder who is conidered the mentor of the Wu-Tang Clan (hence the name Poppa Wu). Some call him Freedom. He saw most of the Wu Clan grow before his very eyes. He first appeared on Raekwon's ONLY BUILT 4 CUBAN LINX on the bonus track ("North Star" aka "Jewels") having a conversation with Raekwon on the intro. He then appeared on Ghostface Killah's IRONMAN (in the begining of "Black Jesus" and at the end of "All That I've Got IS You" featuring Mary J. Blige) and on Wu-Tang's sophomore LP, WU-TANG FOREVER ("Wu-Revolution"). Poppa Wu is also responsible for the involvement of Wu-Tang's core members in The Nation Of Gods & Earths aka The 5 Percenters. However, I thought that this album was gonna feature Poppa Wu teaching or enlightening listeners on his views with appearances from Wu-Tang MC's. When I popped the disc in, I got something different (not necesarilly bad). A few voices were familiar or recognizable (Method Man, ODB, Black Knights, North Star, Buddha Monk, Brooklyn Zoo, La The Darkman, King Just) and others were not, such as Manchuz (an extended version of Brooklyn Zoo), Kendra, Lady Raw, Cuffie Crime Family, Don Chulo, Sic, and Zu Ninjaz (another group of Brooklyn Zu affiliates, but from New Jersey). The most promising of these groups are The Brooklyn Zu affiliates (Manchuz and Zu Ninjaz) and The Cuffie Crime Family (members are Free Murda and Shacronz) who, since then, have changed their name to Division. Those are the only ones i Kept hearing from after this album. This isn't really a Poppa Wu album, but a compilation of Wu-Tang affiliated MCs along with new ones introduced by Poppa Wu. It's a album worth checking out.
They Don't Have a Place For Minus Stars.......2004-11-05
The complete lack of Euphemismistic dialogue in these diatribes
indicates a singular disfunction in this particular form indigineous to certain language groups, an indomitable barrier
between Communicative Language and contact with the Exterior world, consisting of coded signals. Such defense mechanisms
perform a function of forming a group character among those who
have little else in common. One finds it difficult to understand
how one can send a coded message via loud, blisteringly loud,
bass and shouted repeated rhyme, but it is being done daily
all over the United States, and now thoughtout the world. (If
one wants to hide something, put it right out in the open, because no one would think to look there.) As the great poet
P. Townsend once said, "Don't try to dig what we all say..."
because, well, if you don't know it, you never will.

I first heard Popa Wu on amazon.com about 2 weeks ago and ever since ive gotten it ive couldnt stop listening to it. Method Man and Lady Raw make this cd. The tracks Life of a Ganster, Three Amigos, and I like to Ride it are my favorite tracks. There isn't one bad track on this cd. BUY THIS CD!
