Customer Reviews:
One of the few albums I have given a 5 star rating........2001-07-02
These MCs from the Tidewater area have put together a great album. I still to this day don't understand why they have not blown up on a national level. I remember first getting into the Supafriendz crew with Mad Skillz first album "From Where?..." (which is another 5 star album). The lyrical ability is uncanny and under-appreciated by the rap community. Even the Intro to this album is tight. Consequences & Repercussions [Track 2] lays down some great lyrical skills over a great sample. (And don't worry...it's not a super sappy cheesy 80s sample). Fatal Attraction [Track 3] is just hilarious. It tells the tale of a guy who can't shake off a woman who's addicted. Friend Zone [Track 4] is a bit of remake of Biz Markie's "Just A friend". Very well done...I'm sure Biz is proud. M.O.N.E.Y. is OK....not too much to say about it...the beat is so-so...but the lyrics remain strong. Hot Hot [Track 7] is exactly that...strong beats...stronger lyrics. Cadi Man [Track 14] is ridiculous and absolutely bangin'. This is the type of track I love playing in my car in Ohio because no one here has heard it and they all wanna know what that bangin song is. Other STRONG hi-lights include Throw Dem Bows [Track 16], Let Me Find Out [Track 9], and Supa [Track 18]. I'm not sure if these guys will ever get the credit they deserve, but if they don't it won't be through any fault of their own. They've done their part.
dope.......2001-05-03
i gotta say i first checked this cd out cause i gotta represent richmond to the fullest.....i heard skillz and mowf b4 and they always got fire......this compilation is slammin throughout and their aint one weak track on it......so if you wanna realize where the next hotspot for rap might be.....pick up this joint right heyah!! or just sleep......either way---one day people is gonna realize that RICHMOND has some dope ish for the future of the hip hop world....one....kappastyle411
SupaFriendz with true Supa Powerz.......2001-01-14
The SupaFriendz really shine with this supa album, bringing some pretty supa tracks. The Richmond locals, including Danja Mowf and Mad Skillz, et al, who appeared on Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody" remix, deliver a commercial hip hop beat with their underground-style lyrics. This album really sets fire to the scene on tracks like "Everything I Need" and "Supa", on which Timbaland gives a helping hand in production. All in all, the album is well... SUPA! One.
