Defari returns with another strong EP that was released in between albums under the alias of LA's own Billy the Kidd. Like his other EP "LA Collection" its solid both on the lyrics and production side of things. Along with his usual selection of producers Evidence, Alchemist and Joey Chavez, he brings along his Barbershop co-horts to drop beats and rhymes. All of which are solidly done. There was a personal highlight for me which was the E-Swift produced "Big Up" which was Defari's 1st single from wayback in '95 that from what i heard was on previously available on 12". The EP consists of 8 tracks in total with afew interludes from the "Young Guns" films thrown in for added effect. The last 2 tracks are "Clear the lane" from Phil da Agony's album "Aromatic" and the aforementioned "Big Up" so youre really getting 6 brand new joints from Defari. (Similar to the "LA Collection" EP). It starts off very strongly with "Ralo R.I.P. Jam", an ode to his fallen homies over a smooth Alchemist track followed by the strongest track here "Say It Twice". A ear pounding beat from Evidence that Defari rocks from start to finish. Next up after a brief interlude is "Aged Whiskey Aged Remy" feat.Chuck Hustle, a decent track where Defari+Chuck go back and forth over a Barbershop produced beat. "Develop Tools" arrives next to elevate things again where it runs a close 2nd to "Say It Twice". Brilliant beat+rhymes. I have to admit i found "The Unforgettable" ironically fairly forgettable. A radio sounding single with Veronica Mendez on the hook. Not one of Defari's best outings in my opinion. "Real Not Fake" is the final new track on display and its strong, with a nice chemistry between Defari+Chocolate Ty. Overall its a nice addition to any hiphop fans collection. Worth the dough for "Ralo R.I.P. Jam", "Say It Twice" and "Develop Tools".

I stumbled upon this album by accident; I had no idea Defari had an alias. Never seeing any promotion for this anywhere, it makes me wonder why? This album rocks, my favorite track is Unforgettable, but the other material easily compares to Defari's other work. You have to check this out. I wonder why Defari did decide to go with an alias when he isn't that well known of an artist, despite his two albums and his numerous guest shots on other albums. He needs a lot more recognition and I just hope another positive review will help that out. Don't miss this album.

Please buy this! You won't regret it. Evidence does some of the production and defari is not too annoying. The beats and rhymes are tight for the most part."Say it Twice" is one the best songs of 2000.
