Product Description

The classic soundtrack to the cult smash hit movie Fear of a Black Hat which has been described as a "Rap Spinal Tap". Finally re-released!

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Hilarious AND Brilliant.......2003-05-01

What makes this CD so great is despite rap being one of my least favorite musical genres, these are really good tunes! They're lyrically hysterical AND they rock!

It's a short list of films that can bear repetition. This one does. My copy has survived heavy usage for almost 10(!) years, but the soundtrack has the full versions of the songs.

See it, buy it, love it!

5 out of 5 stars Fear of A Good Review.......2002-06-07

I thought I was the only one that got this movie and it's songs. The tracks are very reminicent of the early stages of hip-hop but it's meant to be that way. The lyrics are hilarious and even more so if you have experienced the movie. Once you have seen the movie, this soundtrack is a must. However, the soundtrack is strong enough to stand on it's own even without "A Gangter's Life Ain't fun." You will enjoy it, especially if you grew up listening to hip-hop.

5 out of 5 stars Wear Your Hats!.......2002-05-15

Wear Your Hats! The movie is great(like Spinal Tap and CB4), but the soundtrack is unreal! You will sing along & laugh to every track, see the movie first to get the full effect. You will become a N.W.H. fan for life!

4 out of 5 stars brilliant!.......2001-02-17

This is as funny a CD as I've ever heard. Rusty Cundieff's songs are incredibly deft (not def, although they're that, too) in their mixing of parody, verbal dexterity and even some internal rhymes that put the average busta to shame. The movie, of course, is brilliant as well.

A personal favorite, from "Come Pet ...": "It's our job to educate, infiltrate or shred 'em/So c'mon, let's spread 'em ..."

The only thing that keeps it from five stars is the idiotic "White Cops On Dope," which isn't in the movie and shouldn't have been on the CD. And why isn't "A Gangsta's Life Ain't Easy" (the song that's playing while Ice Cold is maxin' and relaxin' in the hot tub wit' his ...) on here?

5 out of 5 stars Now see me..........2001-02-08

Whether you sport a fedora, a babushka or some Horton hears a Who type lid, this CD has something for you: phat beats (My Peanuts), dope rhymes (Grab Yo Stuff), smooth lyrical prowress (White Cops on Dope) and social consciousness (Come and Pet the P.U.S.S.Y.). Just look at some other song titles: Wear Yo Hat (Buried and Bald), F@#$ the Security Guards, Booty Juice. The words speak to me on a very intimite level. This CD changed my life.

I agree with Eddie about the necessity of seeing this movie. It should be required viewing for anyone who owns a rap album. In fact, they should make a sequal to this landmark film. With people like Puffy, Eminem and Will Smith dominating the charts, there are countless possibilities for lampooning.

Buy the CD. Listen to the CD. Love the CD.
