Five years have passed since Magic Kingdom released their very respected debut album, The Arrival. Five years in which Dushan Petrossi, whom some guitar-magazines call the possible successor of Yngwie Malmsteen, and his band lost none of their energy and sheer quantity of ideas. Now they present Metallic Tragedy, a classy Symphonic Power Speed Metal work of art, on which they were strongly supported by Oliver Hartmann (formerly At Vance) as guest vocalist.

If they didn't have the slow tracks Barabas and Another Sun (and has some more upbeat tracks instead) I would have liked this more. Nonetheless this album does have a few great tracks on it that makes it worth having. The Iron Mask, Master of Madness, Black Magic Castle, The Fight and Metallic Tragedy are the best on the album in my opinion. Check out this band, they're worth it.

UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE.......2005-11-12

This cd is amazing. Everything about these guys are amazing, the singer is awsome, their drummer can beat the hell out of the doublebass, their basses can play as fast as anyone I ever heard, and their guitarist is God. If you like Rhapsodys Power of the Dragonflame cd you will love these guys. A buried gem that must shine, a must have for any cd collection.

Tazira's Magic Ride[instrumental]-just an intro on the cd and goes nicely with the next song.

Child of the Nile-one of the best song's on this album with great vocals and great guitar.

The Iron Mask-another great song that is a little on the speed metal side. Again good vocals and instruments with a catchy chorus. The solo is incredible and you will be addicted.

Flying Pyramids-a brilliant song, althought the lyrics may be cheesey (I happen to like that) when their singing about aliens. The intro to this song though is fantastic and you will smile the whole way through the song.

Barabas-a slow song that has some wierd effects, a decent song.

Master of Madness-another fantastic song with very well written instruments and vocals.

Black Magic Castle[instrumental]-O MY GOD. The best song on this cd. All the instruments shine in this song. None stop drums and bass and the guitar is shreeding like a madman.

Another Sun-a slow song but their singer and backing vocal are incredible in this song.

The Fight-another great song were the instruments show how Godly they are

Metallic Tragedy-a epic song. This is were the symphonic side of this band shines. It tell the story of a demon and a witch, the vocals may be considered wierd but good none-the-less

Still challenging himself, Magic Mike unfolds a new era. Unlike the past booty-bass beats, the emergence of "Magic's Kingdom" offers tracks like "Do What I Gotta Do", "Is It Good To You" and "Rid Wit Me" revealing a never-before-seen Magic Mike both lyrically and musically. A sure-fire club and radio favorite will be the high-spirited first single, "Groove On" featuring former Shalimar songster Howard Hewitt. "One day I was listening to an oldies radio station and the song 'Night To Remember' came on. For the rest of that day, I hummed the melody. It took me every bit of a year to find Howard Hewitt, but once we connected it was magic." It's an innovative track that will have heads bobbin' and reminiscing about good times past.

Magic Mike says the track "Check Me Out Y'all" brought him to the realization of what deejaying has become versus where it used to be. The instrumentally scratched track ferociously reminds listeners of the artists' phenomenal skills. Much like DJ competitions the world over, Mike leaves the listener panting for more.

Overall, "this album is the closest representation of who I am. I don't want people to look at my name and think bass only. Because even before I started doing bass music, I was a hip hop head and will forever be." Adds Mike, "Magic's Kingdom" gave me the opportunity to talk about things I've wanted to discuss for my entire career."

A great cd all around.......2004-06-20

I recently purchased this cd as I am a fan of most SPV releases i.e luca turilli, rhapsody, adagio..etc. However as I began to listen to it I realized that it is like no other SPV release that I have ever heard, its much better. The song structure is crisp and melodic with alot of drive and intensity. Musically the cd is brilliant, especially the guitar-work. The cd is nicely varied unlike some power metal which can be a little flat and free of variation, but not here. This cd is certainly worth buying especially if you are a fan of other SPV releases. Great Stuff!!
