Pure Hip Hop.......2005-11-18

The Goats were the underground Public Enemy of their. Madd(1 of the 3 original MC's from The Goats), took everything great about the Goats, and stripped it down to straight hip hop with this album and his new group Incognegro. Minimal "outside effects", just a DJ, a drummer, and a Hammond organ, and Madd layin down some of the best ryhmes I have ever heard. This is arguably my favorite Rap album of all-time, and nobody knows about it, but should. Any fan of hip hop sound circa early 90's will love this album.

Ahhh yes. The return of the famous Goats crew (without Odie, it think).

If you were ever a big fan of the Goats, you have to pick this record up. The production has a familiar "Goats" sound to it, as do the lyrics.

I don't think it's as good as the previous Goats efforts, but not too much music is.

For all the new (soon to be fans) out there, I would recommend picking this one up. Incognegro should open some eyes. More true underground hip-hop.

this is the Original release before Back for the First time.......2005-09-07

This was the self-released first release for Ludacris. As the previous reviewer said, this includes most of the tracks off of Back for the First Time (just like how there's another version of the Slim Shady LP that came out before Dre signed him)... If you have Back For the First time, this is not really worth owning (unless you've got a collector's mentality, but from what I've heard, there's a large number of these discs in circulation at this point and it's not really worth anything...)

ok first off I would like to say that I got this and back for the first time and yes they are very similar. But there are a couple differences between this and BFTFT mainly a rock and a hard place and it wasn us. Both of these tracks are really really good but not alot of people heard them (except a remix of it wasn us on the neptunes clones album) because of the fact that this album was very underground. If you like luda and you want to hear a slightly different version of back for the first time then get this album, but remember it is back for the first time with some tracks that wasn't on the def jam release.

Most of the songs on this album are in the album "Back For The First Time." "Incognegro" was made before Luda was signed to Def Jam Records. It didn't sell much, so he took most of the songs, made a couple of new songs, and made "Back For The First Time." I still give him props, though. He put the best songs on "Incognegro", like "U Got A Problem" and "Hood Stuck." It don't matter if you buy "Incognego" or "Back For The First Time", since they are both basically the same thing and have the same songs.

Hey, for anyone that cares this is basically the same cd as Back For the First Time. luda made this before he got signed and it only sold around 300,000 copies i believe. when he got signed to def jam south they took most of the tracks off of this CD, added a few more, and released it at Back For The First Time.

If this is what hip-hop/rap has come to, then I give up. This record is a bunch of .... If you like vacant-minded lyrics and stupid ebonics, then this is the cd for you. Listening to ludacris makes me feel like the music industry really has become nothing more than a pop/capitalist machine. No talent, no originality, no clue, THAT is what ludacris is all about.
