u need to buy this CD, its super dope.......2003-03-08

Man, i was expectin a good CD when i bought this, but i wasn't expectin this kinda quality. Every track is ridin on a super sick beat that is only made possible by Take One and None. Also the lyrics laid down on the tracks are more than just musically sound, they're deep. So i urge u to order it right now, u wont be dissapointed with this.

Rhymin' and Shinin'.......2001-06-29

This tight little EP compilation displays real aspects of b-boyism' and raw production/lyricism from a variety of different angles. Dr. Oop and Samson S provide the stand out material here, with Bedroom Produksionz clocking in a few seconds behind on "Just Say When". PM lags on "Monsterous",however, and the beat alone will have mad heads reaching for the 'track skip' button on their Sony Discman. The paranoid lyrics on "Stereotypical" also will lose cats whose heads are still vibrating from the banger "Who Knows". Worth a listen, the solid tracks will have this one in your CD player more than a few times. Also, the overall modesty of the MCs is a nice change of pace from the typical braggadocio with no back up. Afterall, we are talkin' about hip-hop here, aren't we?

I walk into Old School Pizza in downtown Olympia, WA in sometime around May, with my boy Spoonz, and I see Take One standing there with a smile on his face. He hands me and Spoonz a copy of the new EP...and then I start to smirk. It wont be until later that the same smile will grace my face. After a short conversation, I headed back to the crib and popped in the CD. From the first few seconds of the intro, I know this was the dopest EP of the year. Take One and DJ None had hooked up again. The same kids that brought you "Emergency Breaks" have now brought The Shinin'. Not only does this EP feature the cuts and production from 2 of the LA area's dopest DJs, but it features some of the dopest emcees from all over the west coast. Emcees like PM, Dr. Oop, Universal, Vitamin D, Samson S., J-Thorn, and Bedroom Produksionz keep the EP hot from the second it drops. Over incredible beats by None and Take One, this entire crew introduces Drunk Decibel Records to the world in a way that no other crew has presented themselves before. So everyone cop the album, and squint your eyes, cause these heads are about to be Shinin'.
