Ralphi mix & Rosabel mix steal the show!.......2005-09-04

I don't like Cher, i never did but when i heard the Rosabel mix i had to buy this CDS. Amazing club sound by Rosabel (Ralphi Rosario & Abel Aguilera). One of the best mixes from them. Ralphi's alternative mix is also great - great progressive and dark mix by Ralphi. Other tracks are nothing special - though i kinda liked the Murk mix. You just have to buy this CDS! Buy this for Rosabel!

This is the most misleadingly titled cd of all time. I will speak truth: The love song is the same as all the others and this music would actually be better without Cher. Avoid this.

"Different kind of love song" is GREAT. These mix's aren't. I like the mix's where you make the song better, you inhance it, make it go faster, put in a few beats, extend the chorus at the end, mess with the voice and your done. This, this is techno with "different" blurted out every 30 seconds. Give me a frekin break, why take such a good song a ruin it 7 times over?

Cher's Kind Of Love Song...........2004-02-29

Cher's 4th single ''A Different Kind Of Love Song'' is a great dance song, and it's here in it's vastly remixed form. Also including two bonus mixes of ''The Music's No Good Without You''.

Best of the whole lot; is (Ralphis Alternative Vox), which got plays in more serious clubs as it is a heavily bounced house/trance stream-- also one of Ralphi Rosario's most flawless mixes ever!. Excellent!

(Lenny Bs Different Kind Of Club Mix), is another heavily bounced mix, with a curving tune that works perfectly along with Cher's vocals.

(Johnny Rocks Mix Show Edit), has a over-looping sound to it, the beats flow rapidly and take a turn for triggering the mix to climax.

(Almighty 12 Inch Mix), This is the full and un-cut version, which is a heady version of the original, featuring a immense techno stream with a overflowing melody.

(Rosabel Attitude Vocal), has a tribal touch to it with a speedy Drum 'N' Bass driving beat, only disappointment is that the mix doesn't feature the second chorus, overall it's a good mix.

The other mixes are average sounding, but those above are in my opinion the best. For my money, a great CD-Single with remixes that will blow the roof off your dance floor!. Enjoy!

Best Remixes since Believe.......2004-02-24

When I first heard the Rosabel Vocal mix at a club, I almost fainted. It was the best club remix I have ever heard. And I was so worried a domestic single would not be released, and to my relief, it was. Every remix on "A different kind of love song" is awesome. You will also enjoy the remixes of "The music is no good without you". You will not be disappointed with this CD Single if your a cher fan and you love club remixes....!!!!

Best Perlman Collection.......2004-02-28

Hi,

I think this is a very nice Perlman collection...Beautiful works selected from different Musical Eras and different styles...And Mr. Perlman is very succesful in all these types of masterworks...you can easily feel the Bach's crying words...Mozart's fun...Brahms's passion...Sinding's virtuosity...Wienlawski's Romantism...Khachaturian's hurry...and Rachmaninov's sentiments....and many others...
and also Israeli Orchestra did a very good job on this performance...They are like the third hand of Perlman...They work and feel like a family...
If you are a Perlman Fan, you must have been already bought this CD...if you are not or new to this performer it is time to meet him..and it is the way to meet him...go!!!

Plenty of Perlman.......2002-03-11

If you enjoy Itzhak Perlman and do not have very many of the selections on these discs, here is one way to get hold of them. Each of the four discs boasts a theme: 1. Baroque and Chamber Music, 2. Violin and Orchestra, 3. 20th Century Music, and 4. The Lighter Side. The selections are naturally limited to recordings Perlman did with EMI, but this represents quite a bit of his overall output. Among the recordings of the Sibelius Violin Concerto that I've heard, the one included here with André Previn and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one I enjoy immensely. I like the cinematic sweep of the Korngold Concerto; the Bach Violin Partita; the jazz selections written by Previn. There isn't much that I don't like here. Here is a compilation where variety is a key factor. If you're into variety and Perlman's style, this set gives you plenty of both.

Our Greatest Living Violinist.......2000-05-11

Almost 30 years ago, at Penn State while I was a student there, Itzhak Perlman visited, gave some lessons to aspiring violinists and gave the most astounding, memorable concert I've ever attended. Quite to the contrary of the fellow from Baton Rouge, Perlman was the consummate teacher who critiqued and encouraged students with far lesser talents, and he did it with class. This collection contains a number of recordings I already have but consider them worth having again in such a superbly arranged collection. His arrangements on the Hungarian Dances are the best!

Great music from a great man........2000-01-06

The sentiments of certain Baton Rouge residents notwithstanding, this is the consummate collection from a great artist AND a great humanitarian.

Perlman plays Bach quite well, but when compared to Hilary Hahn, Perlman comes out second best. Hilary captures the whole essence and spirit of Bach, and herr violin sings Bach in two, three, and four beautiful voices in perfect harmnony.

Great voice, pious, self-righteous, lyrics.......2002-03-05

Dick Gaughan is a wonderful singer. I bought this after hearing his Song for Ireland on a sampler. What an amazing voice! But these songs are so lame, so chock-full of mis-guided and pompous sensitivity, that listening to that voice mouthing these words is a classic case of cognitive dissonance. Games People Play works brilliantly...an astonishing performace that is worth one of these stars all by itself.

But Stand Up for Judas, in a world where religions are killing right now for religion, sounds breathtakingly silly (I admit, I'm a Christain, but turning your pal into the hated authorites to get him to act is hard to comprehend under any circumstances). And calling Reagan a broken-down actor is just dumb. People still wish Carter had won that election--geez, even I voted for him--but Carter and his thought were bad for this country.

Those who prefer a Socialist state are free to have them, but the voters who are voting with their feet are choosing America in overwhelming numbers. Dick Gaughan doesn't get it. And he seems angry that anyone would choose something so obviously decadent and foul.

ARGUABLY GAUGHAN'S BEST.......2001-05-08

This fine album from 1983 showcases Dick Gaughan's songwriting and political conscience, as well as some fine writing by others. A little more 'electric' than his earlier releases, the sound and arrangements should come as no surprise to those familiar with his fine, earlier work with the band Five Hand Reel (O that their work was available today on cd...!!!).

Every song on this cd is a strong one -- and this release, thanks to the good folks at Appleseed, contains two bonus tracks, including Leon Rosselson's wonderful tribute to the Diggers, 'World turned upside-down'. Also present here is another Rosselson classic, 'Stand up for Judas'. The title track sums up Gaughan's philosophy of song very nicely -- entertainment is all well and good, but these are songs to shake the listener's mind and soul, to make them think about their world and what they can do to make it a better place. The pairing of 'Prisoner 562'/'Song of choice' drives home the lesson of the evil that mankind is capable of, both by acting directly and by standing idly by, choosing to do nothing in its face. 'The father's song' is one of the most poignant expressions of a parent's wish for a better world for his child that I have ever heard. 'Think again' holds the stupidity of the cold war mentality up in society's face. C'Note is a very talented vocal group. Individually they also sing very well and have separate careers. I used to take vocal lessons with their vocal coach Gerry Williams and that is how I met them. Gerry is a phenominal coach. C'note trained with him for as long as they were a group. I was inspired by C'Note - That is how I met their coach. I heard Brody and Drew teach Vocal lessons to Up and coming artists and signed artists. As for the other guys I here they are doing well and look great too. The word is that they are coming back..Stronger! in 2005..So be on the look out. There is a big diference when you say Boy Bands..This is not a boy band..This is a vocal group.. A Talented Male Vocal Group.

This is an awsome boyband, A true group with a true sound.If you love pop music or just boybands then this cd is for you. This group has a true style , The best song is " Wait till I get Home" . THIS IS A GOOD CD, (read my Signature)

Before I proceed to further this review, allow me to tell you that I'm not too big a pop fan. I dispise of Backstreet Boys, NSync stinks, O-Town was formed right before our eyes on TV, and Youngstown...well screw em, there is nothing that separates them from any other group in the boy band mania. Enough about the bands I dislike, I shall move on to why C Note's "Different Kind of Love" is a great disc.

Unlike your typical boy band album, C Note does not only have dance pop. Matter of fact, there is hardly ANY dance pop in C Note's music. Their songs vary in beats, and do not hold the similar "teen pop" beat that Backstreet Boys, NSync, and the like carry. C Note also has diversity; "Wait Till I Get Home" is a perfect song to get down to, fast paced and laced with a great bass line and an urban texture, "I Like" is a smooth R&B tune, "My Heart Belongs To You", and "Spanish Fly" have strong Latin grooves and hip hop influences(Spanish Fly even has a little rap), "A Tear Or Two" reminds me of something that Motown might release, and "Feels So Good" is pretty much your typical pop tune. C Note has lush harmonies, outstanding vocals, and smooth transitions. All these songs are unique in their own way, and none are trite. They don't all sound the same, and if you listen carefully, there is something for everybody, of all generations. C Note is not just limited to teen pop, and I hate the fact that people would even stereotype them as such; their expressions are very original, and the lyrics are more mature than your average pop group. I could go on and on and on about how C Note is great, and should have gotten much further along than they did. I think it was a fault in the marketing - the corperates who helped them get where they got are now helping other groups, and since C Note popped up in the wave of boy bands, they got caught up in the mumble jumble and never quite got out. It really is a shame, and I think C Note should have furthered their career more, but I guess they had enough.

The last thing I have to say is, if you ever see "Different Kind of Love" out anywhere, go check it out. Try to erase all stereotypes you have, and if you're an open minded person, you'll be sure to enjoy it.

I bought a copy of this cd and listened to it as soon as I got home. It wasn't as good as I hoped, but I didn't stop listening to it after the first time. I personally prefer the sound that is coming out of Europe lately. This one was just a touch too urban for my tastes. You may differ. The upbeat latin mix did make me smile.

Great voice, pious, self-righteous, lyrics.......2002-03-05

Dick Gaughan is a wonderful singer. I bought this after hearing his Song for Ireland on a sampler. What an amazing voice! But these songs are so lame, so chock-full of mis-guided and pompous sensitivity, that listening to that voice mouthing these words is a classic case of cognitive dissonance. Games People Play works brilliantly...an astonishing performace that is worth one of these stars all by itself.

But Stand Up for Judas, in a world where religions are killing right now for religion, sounds breathtakingly silly (I admit, I'm a Christain, but turning your pal into the hated authorites to get him to act is hard to comprehend under any circumstances). And calling Reagan a broken-down actor is just dumb. People still wish Carter had won that election--geez, even I voted for him--but Carter and his thought were bad for this country.

Those who prefer a Socialist state are free to have them, but the voters who are voting with their feet are choosing America in overwhelming numbers. Dick Gaughan doesn't get it. And he seems angry that anyone would choose something so obviously decadent and foul.

ARGUABLY GAUGHAN'S BEST.......2001-05-08

This fine album from 1983 showcases Dick Gaughan's songwriting and political conscience, as well as some fine writing by others. A little more 'electric' than his earlier releases, the sound and arrangements should come as no surprise to those familiar with his fine, earlier work with the band Five Hand Reel (O that their work was available today on cd...!!!).

Every song on this cd is a strong one -- and this release, thanks to the good folks at Appleseed, contains two bonus tracks, including Leon Rosselson's wonderful tribute to the Diggers, 'World turned upside-down'. Also present here is another Rosselson classic, 'Stand up for Judas'. The title track sums up Gaughan's philosophy of song very nicely -- entertainment is all well and good, but these are songs to shake the listener's mind and soul, to make them think about their world and what they can do to make it a better place. The pairing of 'Prisoner 562'/'Song of choice' drives home the lesson of the evil that mankind is capable of, both by acting directly and by standing idly by, choosing to do nothing in its face. 'The father's song' is one of the most poignant expressions of a parent's wish for a better world for his child that I have ever heard. 'Think again' holds the stupidity of the cold war mentality up in society's face. And only Dick Gaughan could take Joe South's 60s anthem 'Games people play' and make it meaningful for the present-day listener.
