Dave Matthews doesn't exactly seem thrilled about this release. But how would you feel if you made an album with a producer you didn't like, dumped it, and then woke up one morning to find it leaked on the Internet and available at every bootleg stall in New York City? That's pretty much what happened with "The Lillywhite Sessions," the unreleased, darker predecessor to the blockbuster Everyday album. Rather than turn their back on the fans, however, Matthews and company returned to the studio to do the job right. On Busted Stuff, they revive those solemn songs with diligent intensity, creating lovely swaths of melancholy and transcendence. Elegant tracks like "Grace Is Gone" and "Digging a Ditch" replace the dreary gloss of the last album with dazzling intimacy, and even the band's usual tendency for meandering jazz-rock flights is kept in check by the sheer weight of the material. Impressive stuff, in spite of what Matthews apparently thinks. --Aidin VaziriAlbum Description

Beautiful Music.......2006-07-11
1. Busted Stuff 7/10 - A great way to open an album. Lyrics are kind of down though. Certainly not an uplifting song.
2. Greystreet 9/10 - The lyrics are great but the music is absolutely beautiful. But you know what? It sounds even better live.
3. Where are you Going? 8/10 - The first single from the album. A really nice sounding song.
4. You Never Know 10/10 - My personal favorite. A brilliant song with a very uplifting message.
5. Captain 5/10 - Definitely not a song he should ever play live...
6. Raven 7/10 - A very clever song, I love the chorus
7. Grace is Gone 8/10 - Like the guitar at the beginning, great lyrics, fan favorite
8. Kit-Kat Jam 6/10 - Great music, but only if it had words...
9. Digging a Ditch 7/10 - Makes you kind of want to kill yourself
10. Big-Eyed Fish 9/10 - Very clever, love the music. I love the outro into Bartender
11. Bartender 10/10 - Unbelievable. That's the only word to describe it. Everything about it is beautiful.

A delightfully buoyant, mock-creepy collection of film scores from Hollywood's first and best call for quirk, strangeness, and charm. Focusing on Elfman's post-1992 work (much of it for director Tim Burton), this 2 CD set features excerpts from Edward Scissorhands, To Die For, and Batman Returns, among other lesser items. -- Jeff BatemanCustomer Reviews:
Priceless, at any price.......2007-07-06
There are no words to describe what this music does to me. I did try listening to some of the other tracks, but they didn't even come close. I rate this music right up there with the 1971 score for "Jane Eyre" by John Willams... and that's pretty high :D
Good overview.......2007-04-18
Great Music!!!!!!!!!.......2005-09-08
Very nice for a Danny Elfman collection.......2005-08-02
Bring on Volume 3.......2005-05-04
Edward Scissorhands is magical, Black Beauty is a rollercoaster of emotion, and Dolores Claiborne makes me want to find the nearest piano. This is not a "Most Popular" compilation, rather it aptly showcases Danny Elfman's (and Orchestrator, Steve Bartek's) brilliance and wide range of style.
Every suite has an Elfman signature, such as the layered complexity which never sounds overdone, or the use of a choir as an instrument.
This (and Volume 1) are examples of the work of a modern day composer who consistently stands out as one of the best.
If you like this and have the spare cash, grab the individual scores from some of the movies he has worked on, including "Men In Black", "Spiderman", "Batman", "Batman Returns", "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Edward Scissorhands", "Mars Attacks" and so many more.

Busteds one of the best!!.......2007-02-26
Great album!.......2005-12-22
This album contains some songs that were not on the original UK debut release, so you all are in for a treat, with their catchy beats, immature yet funny lyrics, how can you not like these 3 musicians?
Judging by some of the bad reviews Busted have got coz' they don't "play their own instruments" or "they have immature lyrics, go listen to real music", its more like this IS music, none of this "oh im gonna kill myself, life is horrible, i hate you" crap or any of the sex based rap stuff you see and hear nowadays. Busted's music is FUN, UPLIFTING and you can see off any bad days with their songs.
So give them a chance, and if you hate them, who cares? Certainly not me and the millions of fans over the water.
The Busted Greatest Hits.......2005-09-23
I also recommend "A ticket for everyone", the last Busted album is Live in concert, featuring all their hits
Busted wrote funny songs, played guitar and bass, the Busted drummer arent inside Busted but always played with they.
Their music is different in each song, but almost is a Power Pop band.
GREAT ALBUM!! MUST HAVE!! PLENTY TEEN APPEAL!.......2005-08-19
Catchy Songs.......2005-08-03
This album is the 'greatest hits' of their short career. But what great hits they had. This album has four number ones, and a further four top 3 hits. The lyrics can be patchy in places but all can be forgiven for such catchy tunes. This is a definite must buy for fans of pop music, which is why I'm bemused that fans of rap and rock music have actually reviewed this CD. Maybe they have a hidden liking for it!

some of his original stuff, an early rising star, good for the collection.......2007-06-21
Funny but not Blue Collar Comedy Tour Quality.......2005-06-10
This is an earlier work. His timing is not as good and in his later work and his stories are not as funny but they are still very good. Some are also pretty dated. Unless you remember Olga Korbut and Nadia Comanech (?) as great gymnasts from the 70s and 80s Olympic games, some won't mean much.
His style is somewhat abrasive but the sarcasm is more directed towards himself than towards others. That doesn't stop him from launching a few zingers at others but a lot of it is self effacing.
If you like lowbrow, Southern style humor, you could do a lot worse than this one.
Disappointing.......2005-04-20
However, this CD points up how little material White actually has. While the bits have clearly been polished with time and experience, White seems to have done very little writing during the length of his career. As a fan of White's I find this sad, given his level of talent.
Ron White is awesome but this CD falls a little short.......2005-01-22

Busted is right. Broke down and (almost) out. And Woke Up With A Monster is even worse. Sigh...........2005-12-22
two real good songs on it - 'Back 'N Blue',
which I heard the band play Live in South
Carolina in July 1991, and a good single and
video, "Whereever Would I Be", with Bun E.
crying over cutting red onions (not Red Siren,
who he no doubt would have rather been playing
with when this turkey was released). Or was
it because TP was back in the band at the expense
of his 'Bun E. Carlos Experience' stick-buddy,
Jon Brant [who would show back up years later
on Silver, the video, the album and did 17 gigs
with Cheap Trick in early 2004 - darn it, I missed
'Em with my boy back on Bass)?! I guess we'll never
know. Despite Sony/Epic's comic book, videos (the
third never made the final cuts for 'Every Trick in
the Book') and video compliation. No stone (except
the rolling kinds) were "interned' to provide an-
other 'hit'-writers weakened Cheap Trick effort.
Check the song writing credits THAT THE 'Tricksters
actually DID have something to do with. Too much TP
all over this disk. The critics loved this as much
as L.O.L. but snickered all the way to more loot at
the expense of us Cheap Trick fans, who would have
preferred The Doctor, Standing On The Edge, or at
least a harder Rock effort (A La [not OO La La La]
One On One. Oh well - 'Reputation IS a FRAGILE
thing, I know we know it.'
Busted (1990).......2005-10-28
Lies , Lies all Lies.......2005-07-13
Middle aged pap from Cheap Trick.......2004-04-26
Busted But Not Beaten.......2003-02-05
"Back'N'Blue" is the closest thing to a Stones knock off that Cheap Trick has ever attempted. It totally out rocks anything else on the CD. Almost as if to balance that kind of power, the title track sounds like a piece of modern rock radio piffle. "Can't Stop Falling Into Love" was the band's attempt at writing a hit ballad (it made the top twenty), the label honchos served up another Diane Warren contender with "When You Need Someone."
What all parties seemed to miss (or at least until the "Authorized Greatest Hits" was released) was that the best song here was "Walk Away." This was the kind of song I longed to hear on my radio during those times, a near perfect power-pop-rock confection featuring the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde. Although you can do better in your Cheap Trick CD collection, "Busted" is worth having on that single song alone.

Good goodbye.......2005-09-24
This album is the best goodbye to fans,a present more.
Busted in live sounds very well, and Busted defintively are not a boyband.
It seems like the people never listened Pop music, and Pop/R&B, vocal male groups sounds like that
Busted not, arent a Punk band, but neither they are a Pop band
Busted are inside the Pop world, image, marketing, and teen market; but their music is a Power Energic music, Power Pop, and Punk Pop influences, and Modern Rock b-sides.
And with my review wanna say Power Pop are not simply normally Pop-Rock
Decent enough.......2005-01-18
Busted sound highly impressive on their recorded songs and radio singles, however they sound less than impressive live on stage, which is a pity. I enjoyed listening to this cd, but it definitely won't be one I keep in my car so that I can broadcast it to people on the sidewalks and passengers sitting next to me.
They could have done better, but their voices sound very different live, having a bit of a husky quality to them unlike on their studio cd's. I do not particularly like the way they treat the crowd. It is like they command the crowd to sing at certain points. Energy felt by their presence on stage comes and goes, and is nothing like the energy Robbie Williams portrays at Knebworth.
Still, if you're a Busted fan go and get this cd. Otherwise I believe it would be wise to listen to it or borrow the cd from a friend before parting with your money.

This Is So Bad!!!.......2005-06-09
An image AND a band.......2005-04-22
If you like the band then it shows that u are not afraid to immerse yourself in this pop/rock where every song sounds eerily similar and the band does not have a drummer visible in the majority of it's videos. If you do not like the band then it shows that it is just not your thing and you prefer more 'traditional' forms of rock music. Neither one of these is a bad thing, they are just a difference of opinion and there is nothing wrong with that.
The problem with Busted is that they fit into no specific genre. Their generic instability lies in the contradiction between the bands set up and their image. They play their instruments and sing live like a rock band, however they dress in a similar fashion and, according to a few female friends of mine, are rather good looking chaps, this means that they are like a boy band. The band fall into neither category and it is this that makes their appeal so unique.
I have mentioned in the review title that I am posh. You may be wondering why I have mentioned this for an album review? It is because it is the posh side of me that finds Busted so appealing. I am from Guildford in Surrey, which is basically the poshest town in the poshest county in England, and it was here that Busted played their first ever gig. The band are all from middle class backgrounds and it is this that makes it very easy for me and my friends to relate to them. I enjoy listening to Busted because I see them as an image as well as a band.
So, if you like posh boys from England, then you will like Busted and all the catchy pop/rock songs that they have cultivated!
