Love It!.......2003-11-14

I've been a huge Kofy Brown fan for a good while...and I look forward to any new work she puts out. This album has a lot of diversity, afro-eccentricity and soul.

My favorite songs (although I love all from the album) are:

Can U Hear Me? : Strong bass line and assertive melody. The rhythm, chorus and lyrics are very addictive and mesmerizing...like a spicy cup of udon noodles.

Cafe of the Arts: Another catchy melody...very exotic and quirky. You'll also want to listen to this one over and over. Its puts you in an "out there" mood.

Many Days: Laid back, sultry and kind of funky.

Raise Up: Atmospheric, commanding bass line and inspiring lyrics...love the retro sounding guitar in the music...creates a renegade feeling like any form of distance of near.

You Went Away: Creates an escapist mood like you want to go off to another part of the world than what you are used to and experience something new. The lyrics are nostalgic, bitter and aching. The melody is eclectic and like a mild pot of gumbo.

Skinny & Tight: Starts off slow and quiet then it gets cosmic, hypnotic and urgent. The feeling is very disorienting in a good way like you are getting high off of the music. Definitely a "trip". Best turned up loud when you are really energetic, feel like moving around a lot and played in a dark room full of various strobe light colors.

I'm Not Your Ordinary Black Girl: I can certainly identify with the lyrics. Another retro sounding track with also a bit of early 80s R&B sound. I get an overwhelming sensation of the playful crispy taste of yellow pineapples and rosy pink silk textures. A tasty track for sure.

My first solo CD.......2006-08-04

This CD was my first musical accomplishment on my own. I had been in various groups before attempting a solo run. It is meant to be a reflective piece and not the big blue's rock that I really enjoy doing.

I had forgotten that amazon carries this, and am surprised to see the price. I can't seem to access the site to see about changing the price, but will keep trying. If you are interested in having this CD, just contact me on my profile page. [...] is all it would take to grab a copy.
