5 out of 5 stars No Surrender...No Retreat.......2005-05-23

This album is awesome. Bushwick came through with style and grace on this CD. Many of the songs on this album were featured in the hit comedy movie "Office Space". Tons of fresh beats and fresh steady flow rhymes, makes this album an original rap masterpiece. Damn... it feels good to be a G!

5 out of 5 stars UnderWater Gardens.......2003-02-22

Ravenous, Funker Vogt's first side project, is something of a fixtured oddity in the Funker Vogt world because it allowed them to do something they've been trying to do for some time; to live outside of the preset standards set by their mainstay moniker's sound. Instead of speaking on the frailties of human kindness and on the horrendous concepts within the walls of conquest, they move through spectrums of emotions and more humanist subjects as well. This creates something that is not only interesting to listen to as it pinballs back and forth through a variety of different of sounds, it also grants them the freedom to show their audience how multidimensional they really are. Still, as far as side-projects go, they shown this again with another Ravenous album, A Funker Vogt label that's stayed with them is some haunting method, and a Fictional moniker that does something even more out-of-character.

No Retreat No Surrender is the lighter side of the Funker Vogt mentality, using a different singer with less of a guttural sound and one that moves through the vocal ranges. This results in some slower sounds, some driven pieces than seem more EBM dance-oriented than overpowering, and some almost teary tracks. Of all the songs and sounds available on the album, I find myself pulled to the eerie vibrations cast one of those, "Underwater Gardens," because it projects an ambiance of surrealness it possesses within its hands. I'm also partial to the slower song "Traveler," because of its slow bleakness held within hands of sadness, and the dictation of aliens that aren't quite alien invading Earth in "Abandon Hope." Still, there are many a tune that moves through many an EBM sound, so listening to samplings from it isn't a bad call in anyone's book.

for fans of Funker Vogt that will allow them some movement in the realms where they traffic, then this would be something worth picking up. You'd actually be a little surprised at what they can accomplish by touching on more than the unified visions broadcast by the Funker Vogt namesake. Highly Recommende

4 out of 5 stars FUNKER VOGT side project, need I say more...............2002-12-26

This isn't the greatest cd, but if you are a Funker Vogt fan then this is a must have.

5 out of 5 stars Play it loud Mutha!.......1999-09-03

Norwegian Thrashers Ed Damnator and Destroyer are back! This time the lineup has been completed with drummer Tex Terror and Lead guitarist I. Mastor.

And I got to tell you, this is good stuff! It sounds like it was recorded back in the Eighties, and in the mind of these guys, it probably was too!

Just listen to the cover version of TS's "Under the blade" It's as metal as it gets! On the debut they covered Death's "Evil Dead" and on the "Triumph of the Blasphemer" Ep. you can here an obscure version of W.a.s.p's "Still alive" They sure can do coversongs, but they can sure the hell make own material as well. Take "Warhorse" for instance, The massive chorus line hitting you straight in the guts. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaar Hoooooooooooooorse! And not at least the title cut, it's a classic! I've been singing it in the shower for the last two weeks!

I think I can see some kind of consept now, after listening to the material they have shared with us so far, so if you haven't bought their albums yet, buy 'em now! Metal is back to stay!

As Breed says it: "Stay Evil, Think war, feel hate and live your life fighting"

Humour is very important to these guys, but when it somes to making music, this is serious metal!

Buy or Die!

5 out of 5 stars Great film soundtrack to a superb film.......2004-11-10

I am giving a track by track review of this soundtrack and will tell you where in the film the music belongs. All the tracks on this cd are from the cut version of the film.

1.Making Contact- Trailer music I have never seen the trailer for this film so I can't confirm this one

2.It's Showtime played near the end of the film at the Kingwood's sport center the scene of the exibition match

3.Stand on your own The main theme of the film vocals by Joe Torono

4.Main Theme played during the opening credits of the film

5.Reflections Played during the scene where Jason is setting up in the empty house after RJ has left

6.To Seattle Played as the family leave L.A. for Seattle

7.Country music hell played in the bar where the guy asks for another beer. Its a vocal track but I have no clue who sings this one

8.Bruce Lee appears played during the scene as "Bruce Lee" makes his return

9.I-5 this is played when Jason sneaks off and opens the U Haul trailer and gets his training gear out and sets up a practice room in the garage

10.Training Montage A slightly misleading song title because the music featured on this track is the music RJ has in his tape deck and this music is also played during the break dancing scene at the disco hall. This definitely is NOT the music Jason trained to during the film.

11.Thw Russian appears Another misleading song title. In the film the music plays as "Bruce Lee" leaves Jason after he kicks the training bag that is in the air

12.The Pike place markets played during the scene Scott treats his friends to the burgers at Burger time

13.Young Lovers played during the scene Jason and RJ visit Bruce Lee's grave

14.The aroma from Tacoma played during Kelly's party

15.The Rescue Played when Jason rescues his dad from the 4 bar thugs

16.A night out in Fife Played during Jason's date with Kelly

17.Time to kick ass! Played during the scene Ivan twists Jason's wrists around

18.The Race to victory played during Kelly's party during the scene Scott jumps in the pool

19.Thw Lover's kiss HELP! despite my many many daily viewings of the film I have no idea where in the film this song appears

20.No Retreat No Surrender Love song this song is played during the scene Jason and Kelly are tricked into dancing with each other but after talking they make up

The music is composed and conducted by Paul Gilreath. This cd is sadly long out of print but is well worth tracking down if you liked the music in the film. On a side note though there is different soundtrack that was done for the uncut version of the film but that soundtrack has never been issued on any format.
