Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
While many remix compilations merely serve as a way for the record company to extend an artist's 15 minutes in the spotlight, this remix gallery is the real thing. Hard as it might be for an artist to one-up and improve on Coldcut, who are topnotch remixers and producers themselves, at times the remix artists succeed with stunning results on Let Us Replay. "We Stole the Future," intones a somber Jello Biafra on "Every Home Is a Prison," retooled by Shut Up and Dance into a wicked, wild breakbeat anthem while Mixmaster Morris, the erstwhile god of ambient music, turns in a typically sublime version of "Panopticon" that makes you wish for a sunny day. But the album's real (and surprising) atomic bomb is Cornelius's makeover of the already punishing "Atomic Moog 2000." Tick like a bomb, indeed. --Tricia Romano

4 out of 5 stars coldcut remixed and expanded.......2004-06-21

i'm a big fan of the "let us play" album, and this one is even better. here you get to hear coldcut standards redone and reworked, all in all in some impressive fashions. because of this, you get to hear the music in new and exciting ways, influenced by many different styles. great stuff, any coldcut fan will love it. if you like the ninja tune DJs and don't know coldcut, this is a great place to start.

4 out of 5 stars Good stuff.......2001-07-28

Not exactly ambient or dance-along kind of music. It was hard-to-get-into at first as well. Gets better with next listenings, much better. My personal favorites are Border, The Tale of Virginia Epitome and More Beats&Pieces.

4 out of 5 stars Strikingly different.......1999-09-23

The majority of this album is brilliant i especially like border which manages to stay chilled out despite it's kicking backbeat the dj lord fader mix of more beats and pieces is also a favourite but the thing that really struck me about this album was the second cd containing vjamm this program is a work of genius a superb concept brilliantly done if you've never seen or used it i strongly reccomend you visit the ninja tunes site and download it this is the most interesting computer freebie i have ever recieved with an album

4 out of 5 stars It is simply good.......1999-03-16
