Double Barrel is the funniest CD I have heard in a long time! Each time I listen to the songs, I hear different things that I missed the first times and laugh even more. If you like parody songs or are a fisherman or hunter, you have to have Shad-Rapp! Another CD they have is Shoot! Der It Is! (It's just as funny).

david lee murphy and mark collie are the very best country stars of the early 90's by far like songs like "dust on the bottle" by:david lee murphy and "even the man in the moon is crying" by:mark collie. these songs ruled the charts in the early 90's then out of nowhere i haven't seen a cd out by david lee or mark collie like in over 5 years,maybe they thought there time was done with country music.i hope one of them come back with another album before 2004.

the bay area suge knight(govenor)that got 2pac into the rap game (contrary to popular belief!!!! people think digital underground got pac in the game, they did too, but so did gov was the real dude!) I'm not from the town in from mississippi but I have always liked 3xkrazy I have all of their albums including agerman and keek's solo albums this album is far better than immortalized but still not better than stackin' chips I like pretty much the whole album except for a few songs but overall real talk 2000 is a good selection to add to your collection if you love bay area rap like me

I have always loved Three Times. I even have Keek and Agerman's solo joints. I am from the town, and I support all my Yaye Area peoples. But 3X's no matter where you from you will love there music. Because there flow is original, and can't be duplicated. I was sleepin on Immortalize, I will get it. Real Talk 2000 is on point. hopefully they will get there props, like some of the other groups out there. Because they can get with the best(Luniz,Lox,Eastsiders,The Hotboys) whoever......Stay strong family.

This album is better than their last one (Immortalized), and it's about equal to Stackin' Chips. The production still isn't as solid as it was on the Sick-O EP. They have some nicely produced bumbles on here, but like Stackin' Chips, they also have some throw aways. All in all, it's an average album, but 3XKrazy are capable of creating a bay classic (like Sick-O), just if they had more consistent production.

Five years on, this picks up where Skaravan left off, still largely a mix of older Jamaican tunes and jazz (including a glorious reading of Herbie Hancock's "Butterfly"). This also throws some pop and soul into the stew, with "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" being a standout. This is still, by and large, the same band, but time has made them tighter, and added a vibrant, confident swing to the sound; these are guys who are quite obviously used to playing with each other. As should be the case, the music is still very much rooted in JA, moving easily from ska (including Skatalites covers) to the skinhead reggae of the title track. This isn't a ska band that plays jazz; it's a jazz band that touches on ska. Lovely. --Chris Nickson

Rockin' well executed old time Ska.......2001-03-24

I hope that it is time that this world has begun to appreciate the ska/jazz music that is represented with this record. The Skatalites began this type of music. Double Barrel continues in their tradition. The modern rock world owes a debt to the Skatalites and Mr. Ernest Ranglin for birthing a music that defies time, change and a whole lot of messing with. Double Barrel proves with this record that Ska/Jazz is timeless. Modern boys gone good. Try yourself a little test. Listen to every bit of music that you hear(commercials,filler soundtracks etc) you will be surprised at how much ska influenced music you will hear. I applaud this band for doing such a heartfelt service to it's listeners with this record.

Power Roots Ska.......2000-01-15

This one will boom shaka your soul. Great horns power over these strong roots ridyms. (Theme from) Exodus and a cover of Bacharach's Walk on By are two highlights. Definitely happy music. If you're a fan of the Scatalites, this is right there.

Great traditional hymns sung in the classical country style.......2002-02-10

I first bought this collection at a retail store for a Christmas present for my aunt. She loves it and actually wants to find another set for my grandmother. It's definitely a collection for those who enjoy listening to the "old" classical/western style country music. It's a collection of traditional hymns which I enjoy because I can sing along with it. If you are more into the contempory style Christian music this collection is not for you but if you want traditional old country church style hymns, you'll love this collection.

A disappointment.......2001-01-10

Despite it having only 12 recordings per CD, I had hopes for this set of mostly older country gospel songs mostly by older (50's - 60's) country/gospel singers. What a disappointment. The recordings are new, not old, and seemingly all use the same studio band. The performances are uninspired, the vocals are tired and the singers have lost their vocal range. These singers in their prime did fine country gospel but it's apparent that these recordings were a "come out of retirement" session. There's not a single song of the 36 on 3 CDs that I would listen to again, not when the old recordings are also available.
