The 1967 Academy Award-winner for special effects boasted an evocative score from Leonard Rosenman. Though only clocking in at 47:28, the short work is still a memorable accompaniment to the tale of a scientific crew embarking on an implausible journey inside the human body.

The musical composition has no particular group of themes, relying solely on dramatizing the respective encounters by the miniaturized explorers. However, it is still effective in evoking the unbelievable encounters with marauding white blood cells, the dangerous inhalations/exhalations of the lungs, and the menacing beat of the heart.

Fantastic Voyage is a Funk Masterpiece! Lakeside really throws down the funk on this album. It has to be one of Lakeside's most essential & polished albums. Funk CD Worth Your Hard Earned $..........2003-07-29

..I lived in Dayton when these guys were groovin' in the 70s-80s. They were part of a funk music explosion of top Funksters from the area wich included Slave, Sun, Heatwave, Ohio Players and Zapp. And Bootsy Collins and his brother were from Cincy.

These guys had a fabulous home coming with their Solar record mates in an awesome concert which included the Whispers, Dynasty and Shalamar. They Rocked The Hizzouse. Also they did a knock-out version of "Given in to Love" I know for sure, because I remember the call and response audience sing along. I can't remember too much else, 'cause by then my state, mental and physical had been altered....don't ask.

"Given in to Love" ain't on this CD, but two of their best slo jams, "I Need You" and "Say Yes" (which a phat dude below says may be the best slo jam of all time. I may have a tendency to agree with that..) are here. "Your Love is One the One" is here! And that "slide, slide, slippedy slide" classic everyone loves, the title track, the can't miss party starter "Fantastic Voyage"
is here.

This CD is, in a word, fantastic.

SAY YES IS THE BEST SLOW JAM I HAVE EVER HEARD. THAT ALONE GIVES THIS CD 3 STARS. THROW IN THE REST OF THE FUNK AND YOU CAN NOT DO ANY BETTER THAN THIS. AGAIN, SAY YES IS THE BEST.

Love this Dayton Funk.......2000-05-04

This CD and "Your Wish", are Lakeside's best efforts, and great funk albums from the early 1980's. Besides the title track, "Your Love is On the One" and "Eveready Man" will get any party movin'. (I'm surprised these aren't sampled regularly) You will NOT be disappointed with these jams!

koolios is trhe best rapper ever

Great single.......2000-10-15

This single is pretty good, and it surprised me because Coolio really isn't that good. Even on Amazon, if you look at how many stars he has, its usually 2 and a half or 3 or something like that. I am giving this a 5 because I like the song in itself, but also the remixes are phat too. The other song on here I really didnt get, but maybe you will. If you like Fantastic Voyage, I highly reccomend you go out and get this single now.

An outstanding Progressive Rock group in their own right, Goblin's name is synonymous with the cinema of Dario Argento, the director of stylized Italian horror. For him they composed such celebrated scores as Dawn Of The Dead (AKA as Zombi) `Profondo Rosso', that starred David Hemmings and which provided the group with a number one hit and the hallucinatory `Suspiria', which recalls early Can and the free-form improvisations of Amon Duul II and Popul Vuh. Goblin's music is astoundingly effective both as Rock and in the context of the films and is internationally celebrated as such. Lakeside was one of the few Tight Funk Acts in a other wise limited Funk Era through the 80's.all there Classic Jams are here.they also were one of the Few tight Funk Acts that Grooved off of Synths.they truly had some Slammin Grooves that still light a spark to my ears&keep my feet moving.Guitar Solo's that are Rough&Slow-Jams that are Mellow.

Lakeside was one of my Favorite acts from the 80's. "Raid",Fantastic Voyage, were my Jams.It's all the way Live is still Banging as well. even better Live with the Drums&Guitar break downs&Spotlights on it. they even turned out the Beatles "I want to hold your hand". Lakeside put some Soul to that Joint.Lakeside had that cool Synth Funk. these Brothers Brought it raw on Record&also to the stage.
