    4 out of 5 stars Sir Mix-A-Lot - Return of the Bumpasaurus.......2006-09-20

Once Sir Mix-A-Lot released "Chief Boot Knocka", his popularity in the rap game just started to fizzle away. Even though it was a great record, he started to drift out of the scene. Now it's 2 more years since that release and Mix is ready to unleash his second album under American Recordings and his fifth overall album with "Return of the Bumparsaurus."

Mix definitely fell off with this album. He tried too hard to adapt to how rap is nowadays and it just didn't work for him. He sounded so much better with his old style. Productions is good as always and most of Mix's lyrics and flows are good. But majority of the hooks are wack, very wack. Still check it out and give this legend his props but don't expect it to be like his previous two albums.

4 out of 5 stars A must have for any bass owner or Mix-a-lot fan!!!.......2005-04-12

I have to say that this is my favorite Sir Mix-a-lot album and one of my favorite cd's when I'm bumping (bass that is). Some of these songs are the best that I have heard for bumping. The bass is the right bass for pounding your subs. I love this cd. I think his rapping on this album is really good. Mix-a-lot has skills. Just listen to buckin my horse if you don't know what I mean. Anyways, it is a great cd for bass or just to listen to. A must buy.

5 out of 5 stars Bumbalicious Baby, Oh Yeah.......2003-04-22

This album is an amazing accomplishment for Sir Mix-a-lot. It offers some really great beats and as always Mix's raps are at the top of their game.

The CD, which features the club song "Jump on it", was released two years after my favorite Mix-a-lot Cd, "Chief Boot Knocka". Although it does not one-up Chief, it does manage to get your head bouncing. In songs such as "Da Bomb" and "Mob Style" Mix lets loose with a barage of sounds. He lets his lyrical flow rock you with songs like "Aintsta" and "Aunt Thomasina". The pure party song "Jump on it" is a nice addition and will definately get all the freaks in the room up on dance floor.

This is a great CD and would be a nice addition to any music collection. It is not Sir Mix-a-lot's best, but is still a great rap CD nonetheless.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best cds I have ever heard.......2003-05-26

I don't what the other reviewers were thinking but this cd is the bomb. If you got a system and wanna show it off buy this cd. Number 3,6,7, and pretty much anything else on the cd hits hard. I hope you got good, powerful subs because if you don't your subs can't handle this cd. If you don't believe me put it on number 6 and let it rip. You can't even here one word threw the whole song. I love this cd. I have already bought it 3 times cause I always get it scratched but I continue to buy it cause its bad...A must buy for bass lovers.

2 out of 5 stars an average record under hip hop standards (which is bad).......2003-01-21

I certainly wouldn't go as far as to say that this album is complete garbage; after all, Sir Mix-a-lot is a talented rapper and manages to maintain his image as a uniquely real artist. I'd say that the biggest problem with this album is that the beats are sort of boring...defintely not the type of stuff you can play at a club or whtaever. His lyrics are good, but not as good as his previous records. My personal favorite song is 'Mob Style', it's really the only one that I can enjoy listening to more than once. In the end, I was largely disappointed.

1 out of 5 stars It's Gangsta Rap For Preteens!.......2002-07-22

Mixalot is a good rapper, and he picks some good beats, but his lyrics sink him every time. He knows his audience, I'll grant him that, I have no doubt that his boasting, his prurience and his fart jokes go over quite well with the under 14 set, others will simply be bemused by the childishness of it all.

    5 out of 5 stars BUMPASAURUS ROCKS.......2001-11-04

THIS CD ROX CUZ "JUMP ON IT" IS THE COOLEST SONG IN THE WORLD!!!! IT REMINDS ME OF A CHURCH BASH AND A GUY NAMED TIM. NEWAYZ, U SHOULD GET THIS CD JUST TO LISTEN TO "JUMP ON IT" OKIES? WELL THEN BUHBYE!
