Gluey Style.......2003-03-12

The Gluey Brothers are one of the most original, entertaining bands out there. I first saw them in Boulder, in 1997. Tahini was standing at the urinal next to mine, listening to the music, and singing his parts through a cordless mike in mid-stream! Needless to say, they never disappoint. Get this album, if only for the song "Come Here Come Kitty". Make sure to see these guys live, it is the only way to fully appreciate them.

This is one of those albums that I played on my radio show. I was so enthralled I had to get a copy for myself. It remains one of my favorite albums out of my 500+ cd collection. The Gluey Brothers love what they do and it shows. The tracks are at times completely tripped out, political, entertaining, silly, mesmerizing, and crisp. They successfully walk the fine line of experimental sound, tweaking the bounds of reality. If that doesn't sell the album, they sampled the best line from "The Thing", a classic sci-fi b movie.

I saw these guys in San Francisco, and they were awesome. If you like Frank Zappa and the Mothers you will dig the sense of humor these guys have ....a must buy

These guys are all over the place stylistically--a testament to their versatile musicianship. Some tracks are put together like sound collages; others are grooving dance tunes. In any event, they put on a high-energy live show--highly recommended if you're hanging out in northern New Mexico any time soon. Santa Fe locals will find plenty of familiar references.

Jermiside & Brickbeats (of The Lessondary music group) collaborate to make a classic album that you've never heard. Lyrically, as most Lessondary member, Jermiside rips the mic, and Brick brings the heat from behind the boards. The only special collaboration on the album is from groupmate, Von Pea (of Tanya Morgan and also featured on Foreign Exchange's "Von Sees" released on Connected and Nicolay's "1st Date" released on The Dutch Masters Vol. 1). If you enjoy Black Milk, Tanya Morgan, Little Brother, J Dilla, any reall hip-hop... then this album must be checked out! Harvey Auctions (Amazon Third-Party Retailer) has a brand new copy. a little pricey, but it's worth every penny. NO DISAPPOINTMENT GUARANTEEDED
