5 out of 5 stars MEXICANOS BRING THAT LATIN LINGO WITH SKILL.......2005-11-03

Here in the UK, hip hop coming from latinos is a rare thing, if your name is not Cypress Hill, Fat Joe or Big Pun we don't know you. It was by chance that one night while watching Mtv Base I caught the video to Return of the tres, (released on a later album called Merry Go Round) I could not get the song out of my head it was just what I was looking for in terms of more of that raw hip hop with a latin vibe. I picked up the album Merry Go Round and was in awe of the quality of this group and when I found out that they had two previous albums it angered me a bit wondering why I had not heard of them before, anyway I started searching for their previous work and I came across this album.

First of all let's get one thing straight, I thought that Merry Go Round was a classic, this group could not possibly have another one could they? Dam straight they can, this album is fantastic.
This three man group consisting of DJ OG and mc's Ives and Kemo hail from LA and bring a sound which is both distinctly LA funk fused with the Ranchero sound (think Mariachi guitars and horns) not to mention the great scratch sample cuts provided by OG that they just takes these elements of different musical styles and fuse them to create this sound is in it's self a feat that should be applauded. I am not going to single out any tracks, they are ALL excellent, no fillers and each with their own distinctive style, this album does not suffer from same beat syndrome.
On the Rhymes Kemo and Ives are solid using spanglish lyrics with great effect and the way they blend it in so seemlessly that you don't even notice sometimes takes quite a skill to pull off although I am Latin myself and the understanding of both languages most likely gives me that impression although people that don't understand spanish or english for that matter will still be able to get a lot from this.

Overall this is a classic release, Delinquent Habits have further contributed to the growing release of great hip hop made by latins and are showing the world that they are worth knowing, highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Powerful mix of mexican sound and hip-hop.......2004-08-23

While listening to this CD, I had both the impression of being down in LA and to live an old western movie with flavors of dry sands and beautiful dark-skinned girls. Lyrics are to the point, the flow is great and the music astounding. I still listen to it regularly although I bought it 6-7 years ago.

5 out of 5 stars HERE COME THE HORNS.......2001-06-05

THIS IS THE BEST CD THEY EVER MADE. THE FIRST CD WHAS VERY GOOD, AND THE THIRTH CD WHAS ALSO VERY GOOD. BUT THE SECOND ONE BEATS BOTH CD'S. THE MEXICAN FLAFOUR IS SO GREAT YOU CANNOT STOP LISTENING THIS CD. A MUST FOR YOUR COLLECTION. I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY, BUY IT!!!!!!!!!

Out doing their debut album, the tres delinquentes have made them selves one of the best latin hip hop groups I've ever heard. Loud records made a huge mistake by letting these guys get away(after this). With there lyrical flows and horn samples blaring all the guests (Sen dog of Cypress Hill, Beatnuts, and Big Pun) are eclipsed" You will definitely love this album...a classic!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars HERE COME THE HORNS.......2003-09-12

HERE COME THE HORNS IS A BRILLIANT COLLABORATION. IF YOU'RE INTO LATIN-ALTERNATIVE RAP THEN THIS IS PERFECT FOR YOU. THE MUSIC IS OUTSTANDING AND THE LYRICS FLOW PERFECTLY TO THE BEATS. THE SPANISH AND ENGLISH FLIP IS UNEXPECTED AND BLENDS SEAMLESSLY TOGETHER. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH HOW CLEVER AND SKILLFUL THE SPANISH RAP REALLY WAS. I'VE HEARD TONS OF SPANISH OUT THERE, BUT THIS GUY TRULY BLEW ME AWAY. THE WHOLE ALBUM IS NOTABLE. I HAVE EVERYTHING DELINQUENT HABITS PUT OUT SO FAR AND EVERYTHING THEY COME OUT WITH IS SOMETHING I WANT TO BUMP DAY IN AND DAY OUT.

5 out of 5 stars Don't Sleep on This.......1999-02-08

Prepare to step into a whole new realm. If only every other Hip Hop group and Hip Hop radio station would take the same aproach. We would have a lot more Styles and and alot less saturation of artis that sound just lke the next hot selling artist. Delinquent Habits takes you to where you want to be . With just the right blend of Latin sounds and spanish seasoning. Open you mind, and take a ride.

5 out of 5 stars Reaching a higher level for Rap Music.......1998-12-21

After listening to Cypress Hill's, "Tequila Sunrise" , I found myself looking around for something similar and off the regular Rap-Track. So here comes Delinquent Habits' with their , "Here Come The Horns" , which also helps to bring Rap-Music up to a higher level. Even if you don't understand ( or like ) the Spanglish throughout the record, I hope you listen to what is really going on here. Style and innovation is reaching out to your ears. I am very tired of several-several CD's I listen to all sounding as if the same artist recorded them and it doesn't help either when each song sounds just about the same. Everybody wants to sound as " the sound that sells ". For any musician, as myself, get off the Music-Machine, be different, bring your style of music up to the next higher level. Delinquent Habits has surely accomplished this in their hard-core, hard-rapping, fast-tempo, slow-tempo, bass-heavy, hard-rocking and heavy-sampled musical feast. It's hard to put a record such as this into just the musical style of Rap. Hope you listen to some sound samples of this CD and then go and buy it and listen to it all ( No, really listen to it) ! Peace To You . . .
