its strai but chopped and screwd is not for all albums like this one so ya should like get rid of this **** and keep the reguar version

3 out of 5 stars BETTER than the regular version.......2005-09-30

Although Wayne undeniably has some mic skills, one of the things I have always disliked about his flow (and beats) is that his voice is somewhat high-pitched and he flows so fast that you easily miss some of his lyrics. Hearing the chopped and screwed version of Tha Carter definetely gave me a much better appreciation of the album and how much Wheezy has stepped his game up since he first came out. Besides, his voice just sounds better slowed down.

Plus the beats sound 100 times better. I've never been much of a Mannie Fresh fan (he produced every track on Tha Carter) mainly becuase they are just so fast, but they sound much better slowed down a bit.

Anyway... As for the content itself, this album is a major improvement for Wayne, however he still has quite a ways to go. If his verses on his albums were as hot as the ones he has been dropping on recent guest appearences for other artists (i.e. Destiny's Child, Trina, Paul Wall), his cd's would fly out of the store

1 out of 5 stars im not on drugs.......2005-06-26

i not a fan of chopped and scrwed at all well first off all, the rappers original voice sounds exactly the same as if you were to do it to any other artist, hell you can even chop and screw gwen stefani's album and it would sounds exactly the same, and if i were to screw gwen's album, is it considered a down south album?? chopped and screw might die out one day as i can see the artist doesnt sell well when they make a scrwed and chopped album.

4 out of 5 stars Great Houston underground sound!!!!.......2007-01-23

I already listen to Trae, Dougie-D, Archie Lee, and everyone else who have not quite come mainstream in Houston. Trae's crew of Houston's southside bangers deliver a pretty solid album. The albums actually sound better without using some of the current beats that are popular now. Some of their album use other folks beats, kind of like a mixtape feel to it. Jay'ton is the one to watch for in this group. If you already like Trae, then you will like the S.L.A.B.

4 out of 5 stars Very Very good coming from Watts.......2006-07-17

From owning and Listening to both the regular and the chopped and screwed version, I can cleary say that the chopped and screwed version is very good but not as good as the other albums that watts has chopped. However the carter 2 C&S is way better than the Carter 1 C&S which was also done by watts.

The album has it good songs that are, clear and understandable. (Fly in, Best Rapper Alive, Shooter, Hustler Musik, Grown Man). Most of the endings to the songs are blended to the beginning to the next song to allow smooth transition for the next track.
Husler Musik is my Favorite chopped track on the album.

Since the songs are already Slowed(Screwed) They allow the listner to understand what Weezy is saying better than the regular version would allow.

Watts Chopping style seems to be more of chopping certain words in the lyrics to allow more impact to the words, instead of just chopping every syllable like most amateur dj's do

There are some problems with album as well, I know Track# 8 ("Mo Fire") Could have been chopped alot better. It doesn't sound bad but the choppin in this song is kinda akward. Like it wasn't chopped in the right places. Track#9 (Weezy Baby feat. Nikki) sounds great...The only problem is it's way to short! It's only 1:25! Why did it have to be cut so short? Track#12 (Watts Scratch) Is watts showing of his scratchin' skills before Track#13 (Receipt) It's not bad either but to some listners (not including me) it might slow the pace to the next song. Last, Track# 20 (Fly Out)fades out (no pun intended) very early, almost in the middle of the song making it only 2:11 long.

All these things aside, tha Carter 2 C&S is very good if you are into chopped and screwed music. But if you're not then stick with the Excellent Regular version.

lastly to all the people who don't like Chopped and screwed music. If you hate "Chopped and Screwed"... Then why are you buying/listening to it? Why are you complaining about it on Amazon if you hate it? It does not make any sense to get something that you already know you're going to dislike.

5 out of 5 stars Double the Pleasure.......2006-05-18

I've been listening to Houston underground since 1996, and SwishaHouse has always held it down since the late great Screw!!
The best rapper alive....definetly! And to make it even clearer, Watts slowed it down to make you hear and pay attention to his words. If you don't know anything about the screwed and chopped movement....don't buy the album!

1 out of 5 stars A perfect way to butcher a good album.......2006-05-11

Chopped and Screwed is by far the worst butchering of good albums I've ever heard. It figures that Michael Watts would be affiliated with that wack Swishahouse label since they have put out some of the worst hip hop in the past couple years. Thank God that Chamillionaire and Slim Thug left, since they were the only talented members. Anyways this album is terrible. The original was the 2nd best album of the year but this is just a terrible butchering of it. Just listen to Fireman on here and listen to it on the original and you'll notice a big difference. Also they also screwed up Wayne's voice too, just like they do with all the other artists who's albums are butchered by this crap. Go buy the original instead and stop supporting the butchering of good music!

5 out of 5 stars Mo Fire to a Hot CD.......2006-04-06

Michael Watts was the right man to call for the job. He put that extra stank on it making it able to be smelt right through the bag. Pick it Up. Peace

5 out of 5 stars WEEZY F BABY THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE EVEN WHEN CHOPPED N SCREWED.......2006-03-27

WEEZY'S FLOW IS THE SICKEST IN THE GAME. HIS LYRICS R EVEN SICKER. WHEN WEEZY SPITS YOU CAN TELL HE BE IN THE ZONE AND IS IN LOVE WITH THIS ISH. 5 out of 5 stars Screwed Up Cleeik!!.......2007-03-16

DJ Screw's older screwed material is well represented here. I am originally from Cali, so I did not grow up listening to his screw tapes. Unfortunate for me! But this 3 disc set displays his talent to slow up songs, and from H-Town and southern rap of today, it's easy to see his influence live on. Now, West Coast and Midwestern often get chopped and screwed. On 11-16-00, Screw screws Songs like Marvaless' "Jealous Bitches" which becomes "Drama" here, "187 Skillz" by ESG, which becomes "Bow Down" here. Screw fixes up Sean T's "Top Notch," which becomes "Everybody Gonna Do The Same," and South Circle's classic joint "Everyday Allday,"which becomes "Southside On Choppers." He even screws the beat of Nas' If I Ruled The World [Imagine That]" on "Blowing Big" but incorporating southside lyrics instead of the original Nas ones. Many scewed beats have the original artists' lyrics, but some have different lyrics added. Here you get a nice taste of the talent that is DJ Screw. RIP to a legend I am now finally starting to recognize as a great part of hip hop history, better late than ever for me, right?

5 out of 5 stars Good mix of old screw.......2005-12-06

This album is nice cuz it is a comp of screw's better mixs and some flows off his past tapes. Get to know it feels like to have a screw tape in your deck, keep bangin houston.

5 out of 5 stars true living legends.......2004-07-08

I just copped this CD a couple of weeks back and it really got me on one. Real thuggish but pimped out most definitely. Takes me back to '95 when they first dropped Space Age Pimpin'. I knew from that point they would have much more to offer in the rap game in the years to come. And look at them now! Just hooked up with P. Diddy who now has the Bad Boy South division. Real sharp business move! Hopefully Puffy & Co. will develop more talent out of tha dirty dirty.

Now on to "Living Legends". The track "You Don't Want Drama" sets it all off. That's my lil cuzzo's favorite one. Simply stated "you don't want drama/you don't want none!" My other cuzzo and I constantly bang track 12 "Forever" which is very reminiscent of Bones Thugs N Harmony. My favorite one though is track 15 "Don't Make". Way too much slomp for your ride! They have other tracks on here I peeped with Ludacris, Twista and some others. Track 11 kicks real game about bitches and hoes nowadays and how they don't really need us. Now who told them that lie? Once you hear this you'll know these broads are just in denial of wanting tha real thang. Cop this one mane! 8Ball & MJG definitely keep it crunk in tha '04!

      5 out of 5 stars Real Classics.......2006-04-04

Unlike a lot of Screw compilations, which are usually nothing more than throwawy tracks... this collection collects a large majority of the H-Town tracks that defined the original Screw subculture. Mixed by the Swishahouse, back in the good old days whenRon C and Mike Watts chopped it up together.

If you are new to slowed music and want to hear what it is about without searching out the true underground, than this is a great start. The mixes are slow and sloppy - just like they used to be. Don't expect great quality - and be aware that sometimes the records will even skip. These are raw mixes - and most people who consider themselves Screw Heads would have it no other way.

Worth it for 'Braids and Fades' alone!

      5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2006-08-01

The only problem I got is that this is the chopped and screwed version, which i bought off of another site at the same time i bought this cd. also, the tracklist on here is wrong. It's only the first 12 tracks on there. anyways it's a great cd. Since you're even looking at this cd, you probably already know this is Devin the Dude's old group. So of course it's packed with weed, lude lyrics, and chill jazzy beats. My favorites would have to be Smokin Dat Weed, Your [...], and Came Na Gedown. The only song i'm not really feeling is Putcha Lips. Also I can never seem to really hear Here to Say a 'lil Somethin, because I'm usually too zoned and chilled out to really listen to it, but that's a sign of a good cd.
