Andrew W.K. has a mission--to dirty up rock & roll, literally and figuratively. And while that may seem a sizeable task for one man to shoulder, consider that the Michigan-reared screamer has devoted the whole of his debut album I Get Wet to ecstatic celebration of the id. Even though I haven't heard this entire album, I swear every Andrew WK song that I have heard sounds EXACTLY the same. This is mainly attributed to the same keyboard line in every song. The fact is that every song of Andrew WK doesn't HAVE to sound the same to make them suck. They just do that naturally. What makes my gut hurt from laughing so hard is all these football playing jocks and preps liking Andrew WK and all of the sudden they think they are "hard rock/metal fans". Andrew is, was, and always will be jock rock and nothing more. I feel very certain that the only reason jocks like Andrew WK is the fact that any song with a "party" theme makes them totally retarded. Hey "metalheads", if you want to listen to some real music and real metal, how about listening to Job for a Cowboy, In Flames, Despised Icon, Through the Eyes of the Dead, or Morbid Angel? Then you can explain to me what "rocks hard", cuz it sure as hell isn't Andrew WK.

Without question, one of the few CD's ever to have balls. Unashamed of using the same piano note for over 3 minutes straight, Andrew WK has finally created a CD that people must stand up and take notice of. Years later, it's crashing sonic bombast is still strong as ever. Punk-style guitar passages turned into massive arena anthems, gang vocals to intimidate even the burliest of rockers, and lyrics that while not of some introspective self-loathing poet, get the point home quickly and efficently. Not to disrepect any of the other hard working artists in Akron, but this album, at its release, was the critical turning point in the Akron Music scene. 15 tracks, no skits, front to back the hottest album of its time. Even still to this day you can pop it in and feel the vibe of the midwest with the various music mixtures that make up the rhythm of music in our little city. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the top artists in the city including the Big Wheelies, Felony One, the Businez Click, VEC and many others. Being one of the only concert promoters in the city, I have seen the response from the people when this album was played. Whether you bumpin' in your ride, sitting back kickin it playing spades or dominoes, or just doing the damn thang you do... this album is a must have to the collection and no one in Akron, OH can debate me on that. And thats the truth from De'One. I'm ordering it again because I lost it and can't find it anywhere, so get it cop it, learn game from one of the best albums to hit the scene in a long time. Chino Nino is from Akron,Ohio, and they are some of the best rappers in the city. All the tracks have dope beats, and they flow with a killer rhyme. I have seen him rolling around in the AK on an expidition on some bomb wheels. they are really livin it up, and are so real, cause they let u know what it is like here in the AK Rowdy. I highly reccomend that u buy this cd, it is a great display of all the good rappers here in akron like: Kamelion, V.E.C, Big Whellies and countless other talents.

Well obviously Nathan Coles and Nils Hess aren't trying to win your mother's favor with their name and song titles. Ignore all that, this is a well-assured run through house with a decidedly tech flair (I'll avoid the usual genre tag) that would cause much bigger rousings if not for the irreverent attitude. Get F**ked have a little secret to share, too; look past the wrapping and their almost-mixed Wet Dreams reveals slower, deeper and, just maybe, too-safe tunes welded to the shiny beat.

"Dreams are Made" appropriately leads off, a slow bass-funk affair with subversive keys and a littering break roaming through, a sublime gem and the lone vocal piece on disc. The remaining tracks ride a steady stream of techno rhythms, perhaps too polished and minimally slick to lodge in memory but proficient in moving the body. "De Icing" proves the lone exception mining the lower frequencies with DJ precision. A crisp and clean affair, but when the record stops you'll wonder what the fuss was all about. Grade: B
