5 out of 5 stars TO ME, THE BEST JBS ALBUM.......2006-12-29

a classic from that golden age. mr. matthew does not understand that back then, simplicity mixed with that raw vibe and unique production was the key. BECAUSE I GOT IT LIKE THAT, the title cut, BEHIND THE BUSH, ON THE RUN (lovely use of the jimmy castor bunch), BRAGGIN AND BOASTIN, BLACK IS BLACK, WHAT'S GOIN' ON (nice use of prince at the end there), and I'M GONNA DO YA.................how can one deny the head noddin' addictiveness of these songs? ESSENTIAL!!!!

5 out of 5 stars matthew is wrong wrong wrong.......2006-06-19

matthew is either crazy or he is just too young to remember the days of 1988. 9 out of 10 albums released from anybody between 1987 and 1989 were dope because labels and more importantly the listeners would not let you release garbage like they do today. straight out the jungle is dope. i like done by the forces of nature better, but i always had my SOTJ handy. come on , this contained the promo, the first time anybody outside of nyc heard q-tip rhyme. that song was the reason why people were anxious for instinctive travels so much back on that first teusday in april of 1989.

5 out of 5 stars Essential........2006-01-08

This is easily one of the 10 best Hip Hop albums of all time.
-nuff said.

5 out of 5 stars Classic debut.......2005-10-27

This is a landmark hip hop album...The JBeez came through on this album and cooked up a classic...They made "jimbrowski" a household name amongst many other phrases....

The JB's took a different approach to hip hop of their time...This album is completely innovative and original..I'd highly recommend it to any fan of old school rap , or a young cat trying to get schooled on classic hip hop...

5 out of 5 stars Chosen few.......2005-08-11

Now this album is for REAL hip hop headz, older catz who really know hip hop. This is classic material for 30 somehting New Yorkers, it was when New York was at an all time creative high in Hip Hop cop it for a history lesson THE JB"S THE JB"S

      Product Description

Glammy punk straight out of the ’70s. Venus and the Razorblades have reformed and recorded the follow-up to their 1977 Punk Rock Classic album, “Songs from the Sunshine Jungle,” with the same kinds of dark hard sounds and twisted lyrics. This comeback album, "More Songs from the Sunshine Jungle," finds them a quarter-century later in true mid-'70s punk-pop form, and better than ever. The concept of a coed hardcore rock band is still a relatively unique and untested possibility, given each gender's potential misgivings, but the acute songwriting talents of Venus and Kim Fowley relegate the members to role-playing, and, like the best of actors, they play their parts well, steering clear of the hype. A long-awaited surprise gem, sure to engage long-suffering fans of old-school kick-ass rock 'n' roll.
