4 out of 5 stars Please 2, 3 stars what is it that you like about TROOP?.......2005-12-31

Well 1st off if u like Jodeci u will like this cd. It most definitely has that feel and they keep the TROOP sound. Don't know what they were listening to when they rated the CD so low. The cd was on Hammer's Bust it Records label. The 1st six songs are slow, track 4 has the "What About Us" feel. The last 5 are mid tempo and they are decent, guess they wanted the album to be DEEPA but DEEPA type songs were on the DEEPA album. So I encourage you to buy the album if you're a TROOP fan or not, you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best Troop CDs, .......2005-08-23

I will never forget 1994 when I first got this CD it blew my, mind, straight bananas, aside from the fact that a few members were missing, this Cd exceeded my expections & that of my peers in the hood, Troop added Demetrius Shipp to the roster & even though he produced all the songs, all true Troop fans will appreciate the fact that Lil Steve (AKA) Steven Russell (Lead Singer of Troop "Spread my wings, All I do is think of you")Wrote the lyrics on all the greatest songs, "Blowin, My Mind" the best Troop slow jamm ever, ever Did I say EVER, it will blow your mind other Slow Jamms "Let's Get Warm" & Poohnany" can't be slept on especially if your trying to set the mood for your Lovey Dovey, "Around & Miss You" are relevent summer time jams that don't sound like they were banging in the 90's, and last but not least "Do me" will drive you crazy leaving you bouncing in your seat even when the track is over, If your true to Troop treat your-self DON'T cheat your Self... Peace.

3 out of 5 stars Their weakest CD.......2005-05-24

Troop follwed up thier excellent Deepa CD with this weaker CD. Three of the oringial members left and they gained Demetirus Shipp who produced 95 % of the CD. The first half of the CD are the ballads which are all pretty strong in partiuclar Let's Get Warm which is soon to be one of my mix CD favorites. All in all I guess this CD proves that a group is the strongest with all members. Be on the lookout for a new CD in 2005.

2 out of 5 stars The Worst Troop CD.......2004-04-07

After their great "Attitude" album and their brilliant "Deepa" album, I happily paid full import price for this piece of rubbish. With "Attitude" they used good producers like Gerald LeVert, Chuckii Booker, Zac Harmon etc. They then got their own lead singer Steve Russell to produce most of "Deepa" with help from Gerald LeVert and a Babyface penned song. However they used Demetrius Shipp for 4 (funky Michael Jackson like) songs on "Deepa" which worked nicely. On "Lil Sumpin' Sumpin'" Demetrius Shipp produced the whole album. It's fairly funky with forgettable melodies. I have tried many times to enjoy this album without success. It seems like Demetrius Shipp took over Troop because they lost a couple of members and are now praising Allah when formerly they were praising God. (I am non religious.) Luckily for their final album, the decent "Mayday" they got rid of Demetrius Shipp and got their original line up back. Only get this CD if you already own their other excellent albums and you see this in a bargain bin or cheap at a pawn shop.

5 out of 5 stars Blueprint and Manifest are a dynamic duo.......2005-07-04

this cd has got to be the best cd to be released since "1988" i mean the other blueprint cd, not the year....... we need more artists like this that constantly put out classic albums rather than letting their style morph into what they think will bring them more dough. it is so funny when i call a store and ask if they have any blueprint albums, they always say oh u mean the jay-z album( also called blueprint) but i tell them, HELL NO. if you like real hip hop for the love of the music rather than the love of money,, then get this album, that is all i will say and u will be blown away.

          5 out of 5 stars Great album........2005-07-01

Another solid release from the Weightless camp. Check out Blueprint's "1988" and Illogic's "Celestial Clockwork" as well.

I bought the Bust Down tape when it first came out. Very very cool tape. I have long since lost the tape and just happened to run across some the songs off this album on the internet. Sounds just as good as it did way back when. Bust Down always had a very distinct sound and it still comes through loud and clear. If you are looking for the best that came out of Luther (Luke Skyywalker) Campbell's stables from the early 90s. Look no farther than this CD. Anyone who can truthfully say they don't like Putcha Ballys On, I would have to wonder about. Buy it and enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars Bust Down is the bomb!!!.......1999-05-17

Bust Down rocks. I can't believe no one has heard of this album. It is one of the top ten CD's I ever bought. Pissin' Razor Blades, Nasty Bitch - how can you not love this shit?

5 out of 5 stars This is the greatest CD I've ever owned!.......1999-02-26

This is a must buy for anyone who enjoys Rap music. Bust Down is more than a rapper; he is a poet in the spririt of Wordsworth, Keats, Yates, and 2Pac. The second track, Nasty Bitch, is perhaps the pinnacle of Rap artistry in the early 90's. It epitomizes the pain that lies in Bust Down's vocals, as he calls for respect for his fellow man.

Deion Sanders was a professional athlete in both baseball and football. Like many athletes in the 1990s, he decided to be a rapper, too. He isn't a very good rapper, though. Most of the album consists of Deion bragging about what a great athlete he is. It's pretty boring, actually.

This is a mockery of the art form the we know as hip-hop. He had to be high off drugs when he was making this garbage music.

Oh, I think so. I was at my neighborhood garage sale and someone had this cd for sale for $1 and I figured I would give it a go. How in the heck have I missed out on this guy up to this point? I literally ran full speed into my garage door for an hour because I was so mad at myself. Deion Sanders is a wonderful vocalist and songwriter. He sounds like a cross between Jeffrey Osborne and Flea. He writes about money, cars, women, more money, and growing up as a fan of "Good Times". He is very humble and seems to be grounded even being as famous as he is. What I am trying to figure out is why the guy played sports when it is very clear he could have made Motown THE label again by churning out soul classic after soul classic. Bottom line, if you want great R & B music by someone that hasn't been arrested, this is your guy.
