Product Description
The concept of the 'Sampled' series is simple. Virgin U.K. have chosen a selection of contemporary dance & hip-hop hits, traced the samples used in them & presented them all in their original glory on a double CD. It's an easy process but like many simple ideas, it works. The first three in the series have offered some real gems, & this latest is also full of rarities, classics & curious oddities too. There are a few obvious tunes too, but if you want to hear the tracks behind Beck's 'Derelict' (Rare Earth's 'I Just Want To Celebrate'), Tupac's 'California Love' (Joe Cocker 'Women To Women'), Paul Oakenfold's 'Starry Eyed Surprise' (Nilsson's 'Everybody's Talkin'), Royksopp's 'So Easy', (Gals & Pals 'Blue On Blue'), or DJ Shadow's 'Dark Days' (David McCallum's 'House Of Mirrors') this is the album for you. 40 tracks in all. 2003.
