About the Artist
A native Arkansan, born in Little Rock, Broderick has always had a love for music. Growing up in the church and singing in choirs as early as 7 years of age, Broderick began to enjoy a more active role in his love for music. But it wasn't until his college years that he realized that God was preparing him for a ministry through music. "Transformed" is a musical celebration of God's miraculous works in Broderick's life, changing him from a defeated victim into a triumphant overcomer.

Cosmic Genius.......2006-11-28
Captain Kirk not only saves entire galaxies while impressing buxom beauties, but also manages to bare his soul in the most extraordinary collection of song and poetry the universe has ever seen. I dare you not to cry at the aching despair of "Spleen." It's okay, let it out, because in a few moments you will rejoice with sheer exuberance to the strains of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." Captain Kirk truly makes this psychedelic gem his own. I personally wish he would cover every Beatles song, because only with his magic touch could they achieve greatness.
Bob Dylan and Shakespeare also benefit from the genius of Kirk, as do many others. I'll be honest. I actually feel my I.Q. soar to superhuman levels when I listen to this disc. You owe it to yourself and society to bring this glorious masterpiece into your life. Under the guidance of the Captain, you too will be... TRANSFORMED!
So bad it's good!!!.......2006-11-28
I found this bizarre gem in the used bin at Soundwaves in Houston. Bought it up and never looked back. After many years, it is still the most sought after (and frequently borrowed!) CD in my collection.
Hats off to you Captain Quirk! Nobody does it quite like you (and maybe that's not a bad thing after all!)
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. Mr Shatner!!
An album with a split personality.......2006-11-14
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Mr. Tambourine Man, It was a Very Good Year... Mr. Shatner's refreshingly innovative and entertaining renditions of these classics are iconic in their own right and well worth listening to multiple times.
King Henry, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet... well, I'll just say I have seen Mr. Shatner give superb performances and in comparison I regard these efforts as, um... not his best work to date.
It is hard for me to listen to this album in its entirety.
I do hope that Mr. Shatner enjoyed making these recordings. He has earned more than enough laurels in his long and distinguished career entertaining us to be allow leeway in the remainder of his career for fun and experimentation in whatever endeavors he chooses.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!.......2006-08-09
Ok, let's get this straight! Musically/theatrically, it gets a 0/5. Comically, it's PERFECT!!! I mean, this makes me laugh so hard I cry. You can't take this seriously. He ACTS out SONGS!!! It's like intepretative dancing, but vocally, and really REALLY BAD!!!! This really should be under comedy.
Shatner's Second Best!.......2006-07-25
I'd have to say that this is Shatner's second best music CD, the best being Has Been. I'd recommend this to any Shatner fan!

Album Description
"Amazing", "Exquisite", "Gorgeous", and "Very Highly Recommended" are some of the words used by New Age diva Kathy Parsons in her review of Michael Dulin's piano and keyboard CD, "Timeless", on the Equity Digital label. Following two previous chart-topping solo releases of original tunes, with "Timeless" pianist/composer Dulin turns his attention to reinventing the classics - 11 of your favorite classic melodies, to be exact, transformed by Dulin into what will surely become your favorite "New Age" classics. This CD is vintage Dulin, with lots of original touches, and that polished and sensual sound that has made his music so popular. "Timeless" is a must-have for fans of New Age, Contemporary Instrumental, OR classical music.
Customer Reviews:
wonderful.......2007-06-09
This is an amazing compilation of music. Clare de Lune is one of my all-time favorite pieces but this whole CD is amazing.
TIMELESS IS... WELL, TIMELESS!.......2007-02-16
WOW, THIS BEAUTIFUL MUSIC CD IS WONDERFUL, I HAD A BETTER TIME LISTENING TO IT THAN WATCHING BROTHER THEODORE'S LIVE SHOW AT THE 13TH STREET THEATER IN NEW YORK CITY'S GREENWICH VILLAGE. GREAT CD, PERFECT TO MAKE LOVE BY...WITH THE LIGHTS DOWN LOW & A BOTTLE OF MOET WHITE STAR CHAMPAGNE.
He's Done It Again!.......2007-01-10
WOW! I first heard Michael Dulin on the internet and became a fan. His arrangements are so fresh and transcending. I feel like I'm listening to his soul journeying through each piece. Thank you, Michael, for allowing me to journey with you.
Soundscapes.......2005-09-20
I first heard this cut on Soundscapes on my Direct TV. I looked it up and Amazon had it! I have played it for dinner parties, cigar smoking, fine wine drinkin and am just plain happy I was spontaneous to use some of my credits to treat my life to some wonderful music.
A Timeless Classic!!.......2004-11-11
Michael Dulin brings New Age genre to its Classical roots with his 2004 release, "Timeless". Dulin provides us with a wonderful selection of tracks written by some of the greatest composers of all time. Listeners not familiar with the Classical geniuses of the 18th and 19th Century will be surprised with some of the compositions that we hear everyday in use with TV commercials and movies. Composers such as Debussy (Clair de Lune), Beethoven (The Emperor's Adagio), Bach (Prelude) and many others. My personal favorite is Simply Satie by French composer Erik Satie. (I've always wondered who composed this music because I heard the group, Blood, Sweat & Tears and Saxophonist Gato Barbieri perform this same melody on their albums.) Once again, as he did with previous CD reviewed by us, Dulin showcases his great talents as an arranger and pianist. His strong aesthetic attention to detail in the production is a testament to this outstanding recording. I recommend this CD to anyone who would like to rediscover the Classics.

Album Description
In his unique, rhythmic style, Sowash inspires us by transforming some of the best-loved hymns and spiritual songs of all time into nearly original selections for solo jazz piano.
Customer Reviews:
Fantastic!.......2007-03-08
Sowash plays solid jazz piano merged with gospel for a fresh and interesting experience. This album is an inspiration to pastoral pianists everywhere!
from Solo Piano Publications.......2002-01-12
Bradley Sowash is quite simply one of the best pianists on the contemporary scene. It is impossible to pigeon-hole him into one category, as his style continues to evolve and grow, making each of his recordings a unique experience. "We Gather Together" is a fascinating collection of jazz arrangements and improvisations on some of the best-loved hymns and spirituals of all time. Sowash's solo piano is so strong and expressive that he commands an entire orchestra, choir, and congregation with his ten fingers and eighty-eight keys! His arrangements are extremely personal, and yet communicate universally. Many of the arrangements include traditional gospel styles as part of the "theme and variations", and others are a bit "smoother." The addition of the history of many of the hymns as well as Sowash's personal experiences in putting this album together make reading the liner notes richly satisfying, adding even more dimension to the work as a whole.
The collection opens with "Amazing Grace", probably the best-known and best-loved American hymn of all time. Sowash gives it both sacred and secular treatments. "Wade in the Water" is a real treat and one of my favorites. With ragtime and stride elements, this is a toe-tapper! "Jesus Loves Me" was a real surprise. A favorite childhood Sunday School song, I never would have imagined that the sweet, simple little melody could become such a complex jazz tune! Great fun! I wasn't familiar with "Deep River", but this arrangement is evocative and funky at the same time. Dark and earthy with lots of deep bass notes and chords, this is another favorite. "There Is a Balm in Gilead" takes a somewhat quieter approach, and builds momentum as it develops. All fourteen tracks are excellent, and give a showcase to Sowash's broad range of styles while keeping a cohesive theme. I give "We Gather Together" both thumbs up and am including it in my "Best of 2001" list. Very highly recommended!
From JazzReview.com.......2001-12-09
Bradley Sowash is a jazz pianist who knows how to make the jazz come to life in hymns and spirituals for solo jazz piano performance! WE GATHER TOGETHER showcases the many styles and jazz interpretations of Sowash as he performs his innovative arrangements of 14 spiritual standards. Among these gems of musical expression are "Amazing Grace," "Wade in the Water," "Bringing in the Sheaves," "Jesus Loves Me," "Poor Wayfaring Stranger," "Deep River," "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," among other songs.
When a jazz pianist as good as Bradley Sowash puts his imaginative touch to these songs, it is a genuine sharing experience with the audience, and one to be remembered. His playing is flawless, and his piano techniques are varied and creative as readily seen in "There Is A Balm in Gilead," and "The River Is Wide."
Sowash is a master of stride piano and reveals his talent for this complex piano style in "Wade in the Water." His stride style is topnotch.
WE GATHER TOGETHER is that rare item --- good production values, good sound, matched with a pianist with an excellent touch who knows that every note is important. Bradley Sowash shares his jazz visions with the audience in a memorable collection. This is one of the finest jazz performances ever recorded of the spiritual, "Bringing in the Sheaves."
WE GATHER TOGETHER is excellent in all aspects. WE GATHER TOGETHER is a 14 song collection that audiences will want to own and enjoy often.
If you are looking for an entertaining, enjoyable gift for a friend, give that friend a copy of WE GATHER TOGETHER. Bradley Sowash's WE GATHER TOGETHER is a classic, straight-ahead jazz collection, filled with musical insights and joy. - Lee Prosser from JazzReview.com

THEY ARE AN AWESOME DUO.......2003-04-27
Transformed is one of their better albums. From their first c.d, Beatbox to Explorations, this one is more on the funky breaks side. I love all of their music and adore them for giving their fans the most of their flavor. From the first time I saw them perform in Montgomery in 1999 at a Zen Fest I was hooked. Now I have all of their c.d's and won't give them up for the world. Look for Spice in a Dj Booth near you. One track and you too will be hooked;-)) HAPPY DANCING.....
Off the hizook scratching.......2002-12-02
This is a super phat CD, the scratching is really good. It's defenitly excellent for dancing, very quick and upbeat. One of my favorite CDs.
Breakbeat heaven!.......2001-08-23
I met these two many, many years ago in Roanoke Va. Besides being really great guys on a personal level, they are increadibly, dedicated DJs and producers; their heart is where the music is rather than the money (although, $$ is nice!). This cd is great! CDs usually bore me very early on and I expect a dj to do more than own good records or have only mastered beat matching. But these two are great! I highly reccommend this cd to all of you that enjoy dancing and need something to pick you up off your couch and get you dancing! WARNING- Don't play in car or at work as you will find it hard to sit still!
Two stars for 4 wheels-o-steel.......2001-06-26
This CD is mediocre. The mixing is pretty good, but the song selection is bad. The scratching is something that more and more DJs are putting on breakbeat albums, and it seems out of place with all of these...trax. The only two tracks that are worth checking out are DJ Volume's "Ride the Funk" and 321 Crew's "E-F-F-E-C-T". Both have good basslines and quick beats, just find them on something else. I guess it must have been DJ Friction selecting the songs on this because DJ Spice's "Breaks are Delicious" CD is awesome(checkout my review on it). If you liked this review don't forget to vote. THANKS!
insane.......2000-03-18
This selection is one I've had my eye on for a long time. I picked it up only yesterday, and havent been able to put it down since. The style is in a breakbeat club mix that sends the rivet-shaking bass strait to the core, and the mix is very good as well. Both Friction and Spice really tear the tables apart with their fast, tone touch scratching. This cd has a great beat to dance to, and the song selection is superb. But I do belive that the most impressive part is the scratching and simultaneous mix by Friction and Spice throughout the whole cd. It hits hard in the first track, "Bring H on Down" by Biochip C., and doesn't let up from there. This cd's rolls, break, slides, stops, and rollercoaster ride is a very impressive mix. Its a fast, mad, crazy, insane selection from two extremely talented Djs who deserve their regocnition. Bravo gentlemen, bravo.

Un-listenable.......2006-05-28
This album is unbearable. I don't see how anyone can listen to an entire track. What was Shatner thinking?
A horrible shriek, like some wandering and landless spirit, wailing in despair........2005-10-28
The Transformed Man is an ego trip of intergalactic dimensions, a pompous "concept album" containing Shatner's "dramatic readings" of song lyrics and passages from poems and classic plays, all set to bombastic music. Cuts are sequenced in pairs, to reflect opposite perspectives on the same subject (and to demonstrate Shatner's dazzling thespian range). The passage from "Cyrano" illustrating self-reliance is paired with Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man", interpreted by Shatner as an anguished plea to his guru not to abandon him (MR. TAMBOURINE MAAAAAAN!!! he bellows, in the identical line reading he used for his famous riposte from Star Trek II: "KHAAAAAAN!!!"). Romeo's declaration of innocent love is tied to "How Insensitive", in which our Space Cowboy feels a twinge of guilt upon dumping his latest lover (knowing Captain Kirk, he'll rebound quickly). The depressing "Spleen" is followed by the "super elation" of Shatner's infamous evisceration of "Lucy!...IN! The Sky!...WITH DIAMOOOONDS!!!!". He sounds like Regis Philbin on LSD. For all of Shatner's self-proclaimed versatility, every cut follows the same pattern: he begins in a groggy, halting delivery, as if he'd just swallowed a whole bottle of Nytol...then gradually works up a head of steam, until at last, he's howling his lines at a volume that could raise an echo on the moon. While "Tambourine Man" and "Lucy" are unarguably two of the looniest records ever unleashed, the coveted Hubris Award goes to the duo "Hamlet"/"It Was a Very Good Year", in which Shatner pummels both the greatest soliloquy in the English language (Shakespeare's "To....be...Or! Not!...TO BEEE!") and a signature song of the greatest pop singer of the twentieth century, Frank Sinatra. Even Jack Benny couldn't put this much Ham into Hamlet! As for Sinatra: Shatner did Ol' Blue Eyes no permanent damage, but he might cause the listener to bust a gut. It's just a shame he didn't also read Macbeth, since it would provide the perfect review of this album: "A poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage. A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
One of the funniest albums ever devised.......2005-02-10
There is no possible way you can give this a one star review for its awfulness, because there's just no point. You absolutely have to give it 4 or 5 stars on its entertainment value alone. I, like millions of others, grew up watching Star Trek, but I would recommend that people become attached to Captain Kirk before listening to this puppy, because you will either cringe or throw yourself off a bridge if you listen to 'The Transformed Man' and then watch Star Trek. It'll just ruin everything. Now I must say Shatner wasn't quite as bad as he seems with the poetry filler, but I just listened to this album a month ago and haven't stopped laughing. Trust me, with 'Mr. Tambourine Man' and 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' in your life, done in the drunk-as-hell Shatner style, you'll live longer.
Spleen Venting Caught On Tape!.......2004-10-11
Listening to Shatner's new CD "Has Been" made me go back and re-appraise "Transformed Man." Unlike "Has Been", this CD is totally over-the-top, and borderline maniacal. I have loved Shatner's singing for all the wrong reasons ever since I first heard him on the "Golden Throats" CD. Here we get to savor those tracks "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "Mr. Tambourine Man" (I particularly love the last screamed line of "Mr. Tambourine Man"), but I think the best part of this CD are the Shakespeare monologues and especially the bizarre and brazenly hammy "Spleen" in which Bill rants about various issues confronting his "bent skull" at sidesplitting length.
I don't know if Shatner knew how bad this was when he recorded it (he now says he did, but I have my doubts) but surely this is one of the greatest CDs that I own for pure entertainment value. Without exception, every single person I have ever played this for has had a strong reaction of some (very diverse) sort. I think of this as one of the most valuable recordings in history, not because it is so great, but because it is the best example of "extreme singing" in existence. I hope for a modestly priced reissue of "Transformed Man" soon (and hope for the Nimoy catalogue to be re-released as well.)
Love it or hate it, you surely can't ignore it. This CD gets my highest possible endorsement for audio cheese.
A Comedy Messterpiece-Ham Is Served!!!!.......2004-09-28
Even a fan of more "serious music" like this Owl needs a good laugh now and then too.
After crashing his motorcycle in the desert (some time not long after the original Star Trek series was cancelled), Shatner claims to have had an "otherworldly" experience that inspired him to make this album, in collaboration with composer/arranger Don Ralke.
What ensues is a collection of high-camp bombast that would make the likes of Yes blush with embarassment (remeamber "Tales From Topographic Oceans"?), among the highlights are:
1) "Spleen" the "creepy old house on a stormy night" intorduction to the even more bizarre deconstruction of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" (featuring groovy backup singers). Ya just gotta love how---he breaksss--up----SENNNNN-TEN--CEEEESSS!!!
2) "Theme From Cyrano" is actually a artists rant I can get behind which then segues into "Mr. Tambourine Man" with a hilarious cartoonish woodwind intro and eventually more bleating trumpets than a Batman episode. Best yet is Shatner's desparate "junkie in need of a fix" delivery, culminating with his psychotic yelling at the end. Side-splittingly classic!
3) Saving the best for last, "The Transformed Man" shows Shatner at his over-the-top best as he attempts to meet God face to face!
The scary thing to me is, he was actually SERIOUS when he was doing this!

beautiful soothing music not only for children.......2005-07-25
I first found this CD at the library, screening music to then buy and send to a precious new family member, and had to buy one for myself! The lyrics/poems convey vivid and evocative images of childhood and sleepy times, the music is outstanding (orchestral accompaniment for a children's lulluby CD was a wonderful surprise!) and the vocals were outstanding. The song about the little seeds ready to burst out of the ground was especially powerful and the others were absolutely stunning. This is not your typical cd with reruns of "twinkle twinkle" and other traditional favorites-this one is special and parents will enjoy this as well! Lynn

Album Description
Reknowned alto saxophonist Joey "G-Clef" Cavaseno puts "wood to metal" in this extremely unique journey through the music of the Pop/Rock band Evanescence here fully transformed into an intimate acoustic setting. G-Clef plays Amy Lee's soaring vocal melodies, backed by the sonoric tapestries of jazz legends guitarist William Ash (Tribute to Wes Montgomery) and acoustic bassist Peter Hartmann (Yalloppin' Hounds).

Musical tastes differ but this is great interpretive jazz.......2007-01-21
If you are a lover of both jazz and Evanescence, then I bet you will find these solid jazz interpretations right up your tin-pan alley. The work here is done, for the most part, by a highly competent jazz trio and they rework these songs with alot of passion, They seem to have a keen understanding of what made the songs good in the first place. Some of the results are quite stunning and sometimes even beautiful; others fall flat or, at best, seem a bit contrived in origin. Overall though I give this compilation 5 stars. I really like the stripped down, pedal-to-the-metal sax, bass and guitar interludes that make up most of the production. I keep playing this album over and over. G-Cleff hooked me because they rock in a jazzy and very hip way;)
A Highly Creative Tribute Indeed!.......2006-03-29
I heard this from Itunes and then i bought it from amazon and I have to say it's brilliant work, and always soothes my mood when I put this on. G-clef is apparently a well-respected sax player and it shows. This album was not at all a parody, but a very well executed attempt to play the music of an entirely over produced rock/pop band by only three acoustic instruments, and whats more it sounds awesome! G-Clef's sax playing sounds much like a voice as he soars through the melodies.
From a jazz musician's perspective.......2005-08-12
I'm a jazz musician as well as the manager for a female-fronted rock band in Los Angeles. I can understand the direction G-Clef took with this project. Many bands will take material from another genre and adapt it to theirs, a la The Section Quartet, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, etc. I've never quite heard a rock album adapted to jazz and I can appreciate what G-Clef has done. It's not easy! I actually enjoy listening to the tracks on this album and as a saxophonist, I can very much appreciate the playing on this album as being excellent. The musicianship is great, although I believe the production is lacking just a bit. Overall, I think music geeks (like myself) and the general public would be able to find something they like about this album.
Rubbish, Not Worth The CD It Comes On........2005-06-19
An absolutely rubbish Track.
Evanescence would be dissapointed, no furious.
It sounds like someone drowning a cat.
Sorry No.
Not worth recording.
Not for Evanescence Fans.......2004-12-14
I would rather say, what a nice idea, but i think their motivation was doing a "parody" and i think thats why they call themselfs "G-Clef" (most of the Evanescence Tunes are written in e-minor -> G-Clef).
In my opinion they are just a view frustrated Musicians, which are "pissed-off" because of these young talented Artists, who selled a view million of the great work called "Fallen", and the G-Clefs didn't.
Just my opinion

Great stuff for all jazz lovers!.......2005-12-02
This is a very interesting, but also very smoothly done jazz rendition of HP themes by John Williams. All three players, especially Mark Kramer, are great talents and their interpretations of HP themes is a gem to listen to and own.
If not only for its great musicianship, I rate this CD ***** also for an ingenious idea to transform Harry Potter music into jazz. (It would be also interesting to hear a big band have a go at this stuff.) You may think it can't be done - if you do, listen to this CD. You are very likely about to change your mind. Highly recommended!
