About the Artist
Sultry. Fluid. Powerful. Songstress Debòrah Bond (pronounced "De-BOR-ah") breathes life into music, with songs that enrapture and draw listeners into her universe. With velvety vocals that drip with wisdom beyond her 26 years, Debòrah blends elements of Sade, Chaka Khan, and Anita Baker into her own signature style.

Debòrah's captivating performances leave audiences breathless. Throughout Summer 2003 she warmed stages for major label acts like Grammy noms Floetry, Kem, Donnie, Amel Larrieux, Dwele, and Kindred the Family Soul around the US. With appearances at the Warner Theatre, 9:30 Club, Blues Alley, Birchmere, Philly's famed Black Lily showcase, as well as the Savoy Magazine/Absolut Vodka Absolut Expressions Tour in 2002, Debòrah has wowed audiences with her vocal, emotional, and physical expression on stage. Now she bares her soul to the masses with her with her stunning debut, DayAfter.

DayAfter is a diverse collection of ambient soul. "DayAfter symbolizes the feeling of enlightenment and clarity that a person develops the day after they've been 'awakened', per say", Debòrah says. With rich instrumentals from her band, Third Logic, each song comes alive with touches of world rhythms, downtempo, and groove-heavy Soul. Guests such as saxophonist Craig Alston of Fertile Ground and exceptional flautist Nico "Kolai" Laget of TKolai add more flavor to the mix. Whether singing the blues on "Givin' Up", cherishing her lover's presence on "Sweet Lullabies", dishing out sisterly advice on "Don't Waste Your Time", or uplifting the spirit with "A Message", Debòrah's powerful alto and passionate lyrics inspire love, hope, and growth.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars The First Song Is Great The Rest Are Just Alright.......2007-06-16

I purchased the CD because of all the positive reviews that it received from other customers who heard it but to be honest the first song was the only one that I found to be exceptionally good. The rest of the songs were simply alright and to me that was far less than what I expected considering how good the entire tape supposedly was.

4 out of 5 stars Great Music.......2005-09-27

I have had the pleasure of hearing Deborah and Third Logic before their album, and also meeting them and having them on a local TV show I produced. They have a wonderful sound that you can definitely groove to. You will not be dissapointed with this CD at all. I hope that they are working on a new CD and the growth of Deborah as an artist is shown.

5 out of 5 stars Don't Sleep!.......2005-04-18

I saw Deborah open for Kem and I was blown away by her voice and her band! So, I rushed off to buy this CD! I'm sorry it took me so long to write a review because she deserved it long ago! You will not be disappointed with Ms. Bond's performance on this project...she gives you music for the soul, music to chill out to and music to think on? A powerful, soulful delivery and yet she got no promotion! This CD is all that and a bag of chips with a side of dill pickles! It is in heavy rotation, still!

This is grown people's music...and she delivers it with side orders and dessert!

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful piece of soul music!.......2005-01-05

Dayafter" by Deborah Bond is nothing short of an instant classic. Would we expect any less from a chanteuse who lists Chaka, Sade, and Anita as her influences? Even then, she delivers with a powerful voice that establishes her own style. "Givin Up" is my kind of laid back, mellow groove. The vibe set by this track makes you wanna chill and leave your worries for tomorrow! Also, I'm feelin' "Don't Waste Your Time" where she cautions a friend on relationship issues. Words, sounds, and power are the direction Deborah takes with her music. On love issues, how about "Keep On" which boasts sensuality and passion as something to be cherished? Deborah Bond is backed by her band 3rd Logic. They have that deep, soulful sound the masses will adore and hold to heart.I place them in high regard like Fertile Ground, N'Dambi, Erykah Badu and others. In the years to come when we are too old to dream, we'll remember Deborah's beautiful sound and her timeless music will keep us young. DJ Come of Age

5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD.......2004-12-27

This CD is marvelous and it is so ridiculous that so many people don't know who she is. She has a wonderful, soulful, and mature voice. Wonderful singer. Truly, if you appreciate Jill Scott, Goapele, and Erykah Badu, you'll love Deborah Bond. I saw her in D.C. when she opened for Goapele and she was outstanding. My husband and I purchased her CD based on that performance. She was awesome live and just as amazing on the album.
