BIOGRAPHY

Jamie Jones began his musical pursuit singing in his local church at the age of 3. This journey lead him to new heights when he was discovered by a record executive and offered a recording contract as a lead singer in the quartet now known as All-4-One.

Jamie’s vocals helped propel All-4-One to multi-platinum status with such mega hits as, "So Much In Love", "I Swear" and "I Can Love U Like That". With more than 15 million worldwide sales, 4 major world tours, a Grammy, an American Music Award, a Blockbuster Award and a host of international awards, Jamie Jones is now ready to release his highly anticipated solo album, Illuminate.

In continuing to pursue his creativity and aspirations, Jamie took a bold step of faith by creating music that represents his personal beliefs and style. Fittingly, the album title Illuminate, defines to make something visible or bright with light, or be lit up. This portrays Jamie’s mission in life. His debut album can be described as neo-gospel; A musical collaboration of old school soul meets gospel music to hip hop beats. Jamie explains, "this record has allowed me to draw in my creative vision and combine it with an undiluted message about God".

The Album opens with the E.Y.J.P. Intro - E= Energetic, Y=Youthful, J=Jesus, P=Party which sets the tone for the record. It is about God but you just can’t sit down when listening to the funky up-tempos, this is a party record. Jamie says, "My vision is to serve as a bridge linking people to God while having a great time". The result is refreshing and nothing less than extraordinary.

Each of the 16 tracks is brimming with layers of inherent talent and propulsive beats. As co-writer and co-producer of the record Jamie says, "I am so proud of the old school sound we were able to achieve on songs like "Why Does It Take", "Higher Love", "So Grateful" and "Summer Dayz". "I’m also excited at how funky, energetic, and soulful the up tempo’s "U Gonna Be Alright", "Get On Up", "Worship U" and "Make a way" turned out."

As a feature on illuminate, fans can look forward to hearing All-4-One’s silky harmonies and flawless performance on the beautiful ballad "Take My Hand". Jamie says " the lyrics in this song are my personal prayers to God. While I may have many great ideas for my life, the greatest decisions are ones that I have made under the direction of God"

Illuminate triggers emotions with direct messages about God. Jamie expresses his desire to influence listeners by taking a moment to reflect on life, and realize that having a relationship with God is as simple as talking to Him as though He were a friend.

Perfect for Cinderalla Lovers.......2007-03-15

My daughter loves the Cinderella movie and this CD is perfect. It has all the main songs and instumental music from the movie. There are also some additional songs not from the movie on the second half of the CD. Whenever we listen to this CD it's almost like watching the movie. Anyone who has kids that love the movie will also love this.

What a delight to finally hear the rich background music and much of the dialogue from this Disney masterpiece on one compact disk! Long awaited to be released on DVD from the Disney vaults, this entertaining CD companion piece to the new DVD has been certainly worth the wait. Ilene Woods, as Cinderella, has one of the warmest, most expressive voices you'll ever want to hear! All the voices are well cast, and the incidental music is evocative of a more innocent time and place. In addition, some deleted tunes, a Jim Brickman song, and an updated version of "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" are included, stretching the audience appeal of this disk. Listeners of all ages will truly believe that if you wish and try hard enough, your heart's dream can come true!

This soundtrack only has three new songs as followed:

So if you already own the original soundtrack, Jim Brickman's awesome Disney CD, Disney Mania 3 CD, and the Cinderella Special Edition DVD... PLEASE skip this CD.

stellar neo p-funk gospel for your soul.......2005-08-23

This joint is simply bangin. The beats are head nodding, one two rythyms a la Questlove, the basslines are super thick and juicy and the arrangements, including strings and analog synth leads are right in the pocket. Jamie has a great vocal range similar to D'Angelo, except he's giving up the praise to Jesus. I didn't know gospel was allowed to be so funky!

This is the most listenable CD I've purchased in a long time.
It appeals to EVERYONE. The first song, "DON'T STOP" is uniquely
"Jamie Jones" but has hints of Stevie Wonder and George Benson.
Later songs on the CD have flavors of Prince and even Al Green.
Beautifully produced with exquisite vocals, this is one of those C.D.'s you just want to play over and over again.

When I first heard the Lyrics of this album as well as the incrediable voice of Jamie Jones...I had to tell everyone!
I bought several copies for family members and friends so that they too can feel what I feel listening to this great soulful gospel album. If you love the feel of old school to new school R&B, and up beat tempo, to great inspirational lyrics...then this is for you. I have one for my car, my home and for the IPod when I need that extra push while running the steps and working out. It has truly touched my spirit in ways God only knows. I love it! I love it! I love It! I love great music and this is and will always be on top of my list of "One of the Great ones!"
Oh, did I say that I love it?

Solid album by a long-time favorite.......2005-06-14

For those who lamented All-4-One's fall from grace and those (like me) who wished the group had taken on meatier fare in its recorded work, "Jamie Jones" is a pleasant surprise. The disc leads off with its two finest cuts (neither of which was on Illuminate), "Don't Stop," a wonderful acoustic midtempo with Jones accompanied by William Cartwright and comedian/singer Wayne Brady, and "Rise," a big ballad backed by Jones' All-4-One mates. Both cuts are extremely radio-friendly and are representative of the lyrical message on the album: a message that focuses on two of the three Christian virtues: faith, and to an even greater measure, hope. This positive theme runs through a solid collection of cuts, including the mildly bluesy pop of "Why Does It Take," "I'm So Glad" and "Higher Love," and the solid uptempo cuts "U Gonna Be Alright" (also included in a steppers remix) and "Get On Up." Jones' All-4-One fans will certainly like the album's sweeter cuts "So Grateful" and "Take My Hand" (which is a full All-4-One performance), but they should also be pleased with the diversity of the new disc, which touches credibly on Gospel, modern R&B and pop sounds. ThIS is Blessing I'm Lost words... it's Great if you don't have it go out and get.. i love Gospel Neo-Soul also check out artist such as, Lisa McClendon,Tiffany Laing, Montrel Darrett,Christopher Lewis, Debra Killings, they all are awesome ablums .. I Listen to this album from start to finsh. and love it. i glkad i ran into this album it was by mistake but i'm glad i did go tell people about this cd.

Jamie Jones is New Age Soul !!.......2003-12-25

I'm a big "new age soul" fan (D'Angelo, Musiq Soulchild, Erykah Badu, etc...) and Jamie Jones' album is clearly right at the top with the artists I just mentioned!

If you love Curtis Mayfield, if you can't stop singing Stevie Wonder songs, and if Prince's albums are all on your bedside table, then "Illuminate" is for you !! Trust me, you need to get it!!
