Impeach is a compilation of soul, funk and hip-hop music that was commissioned and collected to impart the idea of changing protocols and paradigms—to Impeach The Precedent in society. This is first AUTHORIZED sequel in the Funky Precedent benefit compilation series, dedicated to providing REAL soul music and REAL results for national charities that move us. The first cd, Funky Precedent benefited music departments of public schools and featured artists that were making a difference in the burgeoning southern California music scene from 1996-1999. It featured artists such as Jurassic 5, Ozomatli, Black Eyed Peas, Breakestra, Ugly Duckling, Damon Aaron, Styles Of Beyond, Aceyalone and others. The album reached #1 on the CMJ hip-hop charts, topped countless top 10 lists and charts for 1999, and was named "The Number 1 Underground Record of The Year" by Spin Magazine.

Proceeds from Impeach The Precedent are being donated to The Rainforest Action Network. RAN.org. campaigns for the planets inhabitants and the natural systems that sustain life by transforming the global marketplace through grassroots organizing, anti-corporate education and non-violent direct action.

This album is the sickness! It was a little pricey in the store but wow! Funky, head bobbin goodness. Get it or get real! Lots of great hip hop and funk.

Impeach the Precedent? Wouldn't we love to see that? I know that I would. But this album is about so much than politics; it is about some great music and helping a good cause. You see, the proceeds that are generated from this album are being donated to the Rainforest Action Network (RAN) as to try and save our world through the grassroots efforts, since it seems that mainstream paths do not want to work. Secondly although this album is called a hip hop album it is really just a compilation album full of some great emcees and some amazing soulful artists. This is what hip hop started as: Old school soul mixed with some new flavor. Whether you are looking for some straight up hip hop, soul, funk, or great music this album has it all. Antibalas comes through with some awesome jazzyness (P.A. 2 #11) for you to enjoy and the Poets of Rhythm (funk group) drop a great cut that just flows and is full of life (Flight To St. Vincent #7). This album not only shows that their still are some good musicians in the world but that there are still people in the music industry that care more about the state of the world rather than money for their pocket!
