very nice CD.......2006-02-10

I really enjoyed this CD. It has that good choir gospel sound to it. All the songs were good. I can listen to this CD over and over again. Some of my favorite songs were: "New Direction", "This is the Day" (featuring Hezekiah Walker), "Heal the Land", "I'm in Live With Jesus", "Fire", and "A Song". Overall this was a great CD and a must have to add to your gospel collection.

This cd is great but it is not awesome like "GET YOUR PRAISE ON" This cd is a must have becuase you will be bless. You are getting your moneys worth. This kind of choir is for young people and I love it. This cd is awesome.

Pretty Good,......... but, I'm still waiting!.......2005-08-08

Let me say first, that "Rain" by New Direction is a pretty good CD. But, personally, I'm still waiting for them to put out something that meets or exceeds their first offering. (the self titled "New Direction")The songs are all good, but they're somewhat "generic". There's not much that's unique about this CD. Their first CD quickened my spirit with the level of sincerity and commitment that came through. There's nothing here that moves me to the level of praise that I know that they are capable of moving people to. I'm still waiting!

An Awesome Listening Experience.......2005-04-01

I've never heard of this group before I found them on Amazon, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I'm very picky with what kind of music I listen to. I did not have to use the skip button once. This group is amazing, and if you listen to this CD without being uplifted and giving God praise, check your spiritual and physical pulse.

When I purchased this CD I really did not know what to expect but I was so blessed by it the song entitled "Heal the Land" along with the reprise of this title was trully a blessing to me among alot of titles from this project I do plan on purchasing more from these talented group of Young people in the future.

Great collection of an essential band.......2006-08-10

This is a first-rate box set. Practically everything a non-completist Jam fan needs is included, and the sound quality is much better than the various individual remastered CDs floating around, especially the latter albums. Check out the bass on "Set the House Ablaze" for a comparison-- it's practically nonexistent on the 1997 "Sound Affects" import, but here it sounds full and richly textured.

Completists, though, will still need more: none of the Jam's BBC sessions or live material from "Live Jam" and "Dig the New Breed" are represented here, and there are additional demos and alternate versions on the "Extras" compilation. And there's at least one troubling omission in the box: the album version of "Precious." Instead, we get an extended single mix that adds some horn soloing and subtracts some vocals. Both the album and single mixes of "Smithers-Jones" are present, so why does "The Gift" (my favorite Jam album) get shortchanged?

Still, the five discs of "Direction Reaction Creation" give you practically everything the Jam ever put to tape in the studio, all in sterling quality. That's a good deal, and I'd recommend this set even if you already own most of this material on other discs.

Missing something important to me.......2005-02-08

Interesting - I was about to spring for this when I noticed that it's missing something that I've loved for years: a B side recording of "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight" live. It's sloppy at times, but they regain their place. But have it on cassette somewhere, taped from a friend's vinyl 20+ years ago.

And, it's not here. So I'll wait...

Amazon's UK site has this same box set selling for £28.97. Under the current exchange rate that's about half what it sells for here, so even with the overseas shipping charge it's still a lot less money for the same product. Shop smart!

I had every Jam album and most of their singles and EPs back in the early 80s when they were still recording and performing. I saw them play the Palladium in NY in 1982 and couldn't hear out of my right ear for a week. Now it's been about 20 years since I've seriously listened to a Jam album. Then I got this box set as a gift this Christmas. A week later, I started listening to the discs, one after the other. I was up until 3:00 in the morning listening to all these great songs I hadn't heard in two decades. They sounded even better than I remember and I have an entirely new respect for Paul Weller and The Jam as musicians and composers. They were truly a great band. Even the 5th disc, containing previously unreleased songs and alternative versions of Jam classics is completely worth listening to. The booklet, photographs, and other historical material within the set are terrific. Every old or new Jam fan should have this set.

Send The Praise, album No.4 for New Direction, spins in my CD drive as I, crowned with headphones, type away and what can I say? This is top-drawer stuff, folks! Yes, genre-wise this is not quite an entirely new direction (to mimic their name) but what's delivered here pushes hard at the threshold of its genre. Send The Praise hits the target in every department. Can a product elevate itself above scrutiny, demanding your enjoyment and consuming you in the process? Send The Praise certainly tries!

Even excellent albums may have the odd below-par track or space filler. This album has none - all the tracks are up there with no dips. By track 3 you know you are in good hands, that New Direction wont let things go. Picking out strong tracks is an irrelevant exercise and does little justice to the rest. Quality control dealt with any potential troughs, from the first note to the last.

There's superb balance in the mix, never uncomfortable to listen to at any volume. Beautiful keyboard work (particularly the piano) drives things yet sit in the right place with the vocals up front.

Can things surpass this? Of course! Like the 100m dash, just when you think the record can't be broken, someone comes along and does just that. Send The Praise will be bettered but not for now so just buy this cutting-edge album, knowing you have the best of the moment.

I have all of New D's albums and I really liked this one too. This choir is defaintly on fire for the Lord and their enthusiasm, their energy has inspired me and my youth choir. But I do wish that there were more songs on this album, more new songs too. Rain defaintly had that. But nevertheless, this was a good CD.

i dont know what these people talking about but they need to realize that its time to "send the praise". this cd starts off hot with 'you're welcome here'(my favorite song). then they come back with hits like 'fill me up' 'i got it'and the two that send you into that praise there talking about 'peace' and hold on'. once again new direction has come with another hit cd

2 Good Songs That it.......2006-01-21

I just heard this CD my friend was going crazy over the guy on Worship Christ. She says that she saw them perform this some years ago and he was awesome (better than Kirk, Deitrick etc) She says he was doing all the Michael Jackson and daincing stuff but in a unique way before all of them. I admit Worship Christ is awesome his flow is off the meter. I also like New direction the title song but the flow is weak and sounds like a bootleg gangsta rapper trying to be church. I don't know who the guy is but he is wet. I know it is church but I am not really into church. But Worship christ made me wanna get more into church music. If anybody knows who that guy is or if he has more music out let me know. His name isnt on the CD but I think they call him Mr Kas or Cash or something like that.

AN OK CD FOR A DEBUT.......2005-09-27

NEW DIRECTION IS THE CHOIR BUT FOR A DEBUT ALBUM THIS CD IS OK. ITS NOT THE BEST BUT IT IS OK. SOME SONGS LIKE LIGHTHOUSE, WHO DO YOU ROLL WITH, NEW DIRECTION AND WORSHIP CHIRST ARE GOOD. BUT THE REST OF THE SONGS ARE WEAK. WELL I FORGOT ONE DANCE AND SATIFIED ARE GOOD TO. LIKE I SAID BEFORE THIS CD IS WEAK AND YOU CAN BUY IT IF YOU WANT TO BUT GO AND BUY THEIR OTHERS ONES. THEY ARE BETTER THAN THIS.

Solid contemporary gospel........2002-06-11

This album loses a little steam towards the end. And despite the name of this admittedly talented group, there's no musical concepts that we haven't already heard elsewhere. Having said that, you could do worse than add this to your collection. Best listened to when: driving!

I bought this cd when it first released not knowing anything about New Direction, man I am so glad that I did.

This cd jams all the way through. Starting off with "I Came to Jesus" and closing out with "Til We Meet Again".

My favorite song is "Victory", this song will have you jumping, stomping and getting your praise ON for real. This is a must have for your praise collection.

A MUCH BETTER CD .......2005-09-27

"GET YOUR PRAISE ON" IS MUCH BETTER THAN THEIR DEBUT CD. THIS CD IS THE BOMB. NEW DIRECTION IS THE CHOIR. THEY ARE ON FIRE FOR THE LORD AND THEY REALLY SHOW THAT THROUGH THEIR MUSIC FOR THIS ALBUM. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHOIR ALBUMS THAT I HAVE.

"I CAME TO JESUS" is one of my favorte song. I heard this on the radio and I loved it. I still loved it. This song is jamming and they put in so much engery on this song it crazy. This is one of the best song on this cd
"NEW RELEVATIONS" is also one of my favorite songs. Once again this song has energy and so does New Direction. I love this song. The band is off the chain. One day I want my youth choir to be this good.
"HOLD ON" slows the cd down a little bit. This is a worship song. You will fall in love with this song. The first time that I heard this song I was blown away because you didnt expect this for New Direction. This is the best song out of the whole cd

"WHEN I GET THERE" is a smooth song. its has a nice beat. The choir and the lead vocals is off the chain. I love this song
"GET YOUR PRAISE ON" is a jamming song. This also is one of the best song
"COME IN THE HOUSE" is my personal favorite song. The lead on this song is awesome.
"GLORY TO GLORY" also is a good song. I love this song. The end is the best part
"VICTORY" is my favorite song. This song is off the chain. I love this song.
"WHAT MANNER OF MAN" is also a song that i heard on the radio and made me buy this cd. This song is off the chain
"TILL WE MEET" is the perfect song to end a good cd.

A Blessed CD!!!.......2001-03-02

This CD is AWESOME!!! I'm a young person myself, and to hear other people around my age singing the way they sing, and saying what they say is a true blessing! As a college student, I get stressed a lot, but studying while listening to gospel music is definitely helpful and a big-time stress reliever. This is definitely a great CD to own!!

this choir is just unreal. There first cd almost took me out, then I was blessed to attend the recording of their second album "Get Your Praise On". It was just awsome. If you have not heard these young people live, then you are missing it. This new cd ministers to your soul with songs like Hold Out,& Come in The House, and makes you want to just go crazy on songs like I Came To Jesus, New Revalation, Victory, & Glory Glory. The same annointing that was at that recording in present on the cd. If you don't have it you need to get it.

New Direction will Lead You the Right Way!.......2000-12-16

I really loved this album. It was a blessing to my soul with a nice blend of uptempo and ballad songs of spiritual praise. I have to admit that I truly loved the ballad like praise songs. They touched my soul, and were filled with so much meaning. It made me fill like I was at Sunday morning service with a celestial soloist and heavenly choir having the whole congregation on their feet in praise. I loved "Come In This House". This song is truly moving, and is a song that beckons you to come unto the Lord. "What Manner Of Man" conveys a powerful message about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a smooth jazz feel.

The uptempo songs will get you on your feet, and there's even something from the old school in "Grandma's Glory" featuring the old church classic "Glory, Glory". This album is truly a blessing and will truly grow on you as you listen to it. It will help you become spiritually strong. New Direction is a very good choir, and this is their second album, and I think they only get better with time. Let New Direction lead you the right way, and you'll be thankful you're on the right path! God is Love!

If you can't see 'em live, get this CD (or tape).......2002-04-21

I heard the guys at Jazzfest (New Orleans) and met them shortly after, and then HAD to go see them at Tipitina's a few months later. They are sly, funny, and musically talented in a wide range of styles. They do stuff for grownups, stuff for kids, stuff for grownups AND kids -- well, you get the idea. Tipitina's is a famous old N.O. bar and music venue - they played "Baby's Got the Car Keys" there and the place rocked! This album is more adult-oriented in theme, but you can let your kids hear it for the beautiful music. And you can listen to "Family Music Party" without kids around, as I do -- no Barney-esque saccharine in there to make an adult gag.
PS - Passed through Shreveport, LA last month around lunch time - went to Murrell's just because I'd heard the song and didn't want fast-food. It deserved having this song written about it!

Great CD.......1998-09-17

This CD is a nice mix of older music & new releases from Trout Fishing in America. My favorite cuts are The Last Day of Pompeii, Baby's Got the Car Keys and The Number of that Truck. Trout is incredible in concert -- so much music for 2 guys -- but on this CD I wish they had skipped the speaking portions of the live performance (really a minor criticism). This is another solid performance from Trout Fishing in America.
