the seventies produced a great number of new sounds, Barrabas was one of them. Created by former BRINCOS' star MR.Fernando Abex, this band reached an excellent level of popularity on the US charts with "wild safari" "try and try" just to name a few.
Barrabas-Wild Safari is filled with great tunes and superb musicianship. If you a music lover like I am, you will love this CD becouse it represents the creativity of an entire generation, Abex's concept of music ideology based on afro-latin-funk-salsa-rock rythms moved us for over an whole decade. If you just thuoght in buying this CD DO NOT HESITATE AND DO SO...you will not regret it, it is one of my all time favorites.

African Safari: Zimbabwe

The legendary territory of King Solomon's Mines, Zimbabwe's greatest treasure, until recently, has long been its wildlife. A more lush and ancient environment hardly existed on earth. This CD opens with a troup of baboons echoing their barks off of a 300 foot-high granite cliff in the forest near our campsite. Later that morning, I tried for hours to find the "sweet spot" they were using to create this eerie effect. The secret, unrevealed to me, will die with them. Along with the baboons, many different varieties of birds, insects and amphibians raise their melodious voices to the dawn chorus in this Eden-like spot we were lucky to find.

AFRICAN SAFARI: ZIMBABWE. This is one of those rare recordings that demonstrates the phenomenal theatrical capabilities of creatures other than humans. Some vocal animals, such as baboons, use their habitats as gigantic performance halls in which to render their reverberant "operas" in harmony with other creatures. Using a forest site that provides a seven second decay for their voices, the baboons are joined by the chorus of dozens of remarkable birds, from fiery nicked nightjars to the rattling cisticolas.
