Joe is a force to be reckoned with, I have all 5 of his CD's, he is one of my favorite male R&B singers of the decade. Joe delivers lyrics with such sensuality and style. Even the up-tempo grooves get me dancing. What a MAN!

Damn Joe is freak! This is the album that invented the new age Baby Making genre. Almost every song on this album you can freak to, and the good thing is that like most albums do, it does not get old. This is the album that shot Joe into superstar status. This is one of those rare albums that you can put in and listen to without skipping a track. Its such a laid back, chill album that it is impossible to give it less than five stars. Joe really hit this one out of the park. If you liked the singles "Stutter" and "I Wanna Know" than you will love this album. I mean there is just something about the sexyness this album has that most albums lack. But to start off this album has the best song by Joe EVER, "Peep Show". This song has been and always will be the first on the baby making playlist because it has such a calm sexyness to it that it is just undeniable. It is the perfect love making song. Then there is the more up tempo "Get Crunk Tonight" which you will often find yourself jamming to after a couple of listens. Then of course another one of the arguable best Joe track "I Wanna Know"...what else is there to say everyone has heard it and most love it like me. This album alone has made Joe if not my favorite, one of my favorite R&B singers of all time easily. He really just nailed this one on the head. I mean if you like music period buy this album because it is honestly one of those timeless classic albums that never gets old. BUY IT!!!

Smooth and Catchy.......2007-02-16

This is a fairly good album, if you're in the mood to chill at home, or just stroll in the car. "I Wanna Know" is a sweet slow jam that I can listen to several times without getting sick of it. It's definitely one you can play to get in the "mood". There are a few other tracks that are catchy as well, particularly "I Believe In You". Initially, I thought mixing NSync with Joe would have been a pretty cheesy combination, but they actually pan out nicely. The album maybe more of a fit for the 20-30 year-old age group, but his slow jams can definitely hit the mark for other age groups as well.

I remeber that JOE released this CD back in my senior year of high school. With this CD, JOE took no prisoners and showed us all that he was a force to be recockned with in R&B. The CD featured two big crossover singles which were I Wanna Know & Stuteer. However some of the strongest material was in the non-single tracks. The slow jams Table For Two,Somebody Gotta Be On Top, So Beautiful are all guartneed baby makers. Even the title song which was intro was hot. Other tracks include the Thank God I Found You remix, Treat Her Like A Lady and One Life Stand.

If he could only hook up with Babyface.......2006-06-12

Joe is one of the contemporary R&B singers I'd actually say has among the better voices.

His downfall on pretty much all of his LPs, as I see it, is the fact that he doesn't have a Babyface or someone like that making songs that cater to and really accentuate his singing ability.

I've always thought he could use better song-writing more than any other male artist out (and of his caliber, of course).

"My Name Is Joe" is one of two Joe albums I own (the other is "All That I Am" which I like 98 percent of listeners bought because of the breakout single "All The Things" -- Joe at his best vocally!).

Again, the radio singles "Stutter" (the remix version with Mystikal was hot!), "I Wanna Know (What Turns You On)" and "Treat Her Like A Lady" are all soulful, midtempo grooves you can ride to and relax to.

He also threw on the track "Thank God I Found You" with Mariah Carey and Nas that samples Keith Sweat's "Make It Last Forever" -- a back in the day jam from '88.

This album is listenable ... you'll have songs you enjoy and a few that are indistinctive enough to make your mind wonder.

But buy this album because you're a fan of great singing and overall good music.

Historically important choral music, wonderfully performed!.......2004-05-25

For over 10 years, The VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and Chorus (conducted by Philip Brunelle) has presented an enduring series of concerts showcasing the talents of trailblazing African American composers. Now this wealth of music is available outside the concert hall through a series of recordings called WITNESS.

WHAT A MIGHTY GOD presents 20th Century choral arrangements of music from the African American spiritual tradition rooted in spirituals and gospels, including Harry T. Burleigh's "My Lord, What a Mornin'" (1929), "Walk Together Children" (William Henry Smith, 1937) and more contemporary composers like Sanford Moore's "Go Tell It On The Mountain" (1993.)

There are excellent notes about the genre, however, in light of the historical significance of this music I'm surprised and disappointed to find no biographical information about the composers, not even birth and/or death dates, with this CD. I feel this is a crucial component in an "outreach" project like this, especially since most of these composers are not well known. Still I highly recommend it for the music alone.

Its just a fantastic album & his music is incredible. His sultry sounds amplified by the bakground, makes his songs smooth and sexy. What can I say, its quality compares to the high standard of his previous hits. You have to have the bonus tracks...its no released in the US which makes it awesome. You have the chance to listen to his great work while most do not. Let me say this, his music will hit the charts & he has only BEGUN.
