R. Kelly is arguably one of R&B's most productive minds in years and the Chicago native creates music at a pace that few artists in any genre could keep up with. "Happy People/U Saved Me" serves as Kelly's own personal "Best of Both Worlds"--highlighting both the singer's love for stepping (a Midwest-based dance craze) and need for salvation. "Happy People" is the more upbeat of the two discs with Kelly taking on the persona of the Weatherman, a DJ on the fictional LOVE radio station. The album's title track and lead single is a perfect introduction to its infectious sound. Similarly, the midtempo groove of "Red Carpet (Pause, Flash)" will have stepping experts and novices headed straight to the dance floor. While the recurring stepping theme quickly becomes repetitive, you can't help but groove all the way through.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for "U Saved Me." The message-heavy disc sacrifices Kelly's raw talent for melodrama. Songs like "I Surrender" and "Prayer Changes," while expressing a sincere sentiment about believing in something greater than yourself, are a little overwhelming. That said, this disc's title track is a rousing musical tale of overcoming obstacles with the help of God--complete with a rising choir. R. Kelly really put his heart and soul with this one. I listen to this CD everyday because it reminds me of how faithful God is and whatever I am going through he is protecting me from evil. Thanks R. Kelly for allowing God to use you in such a powerful way.

Praying or Preying?.......2006-05-30

R. Kelly doesn't know if he wants to be a vulgar-mouthed street-thug, or a gospel singer, so he tastelessly does both (or tries to) on a double cd. Mixing God's name in with filth is sacrilege, but I guess it isn't any worse than preying on impressionable, naive, insecure 12-year olds.

time , and time and time again have we heard musical greats of R&B, ranging from the the lively 'unleash the dragon' by Sisqo to the slow pased 'Africa' by D'Angelo (for those who truly think this IS an R&B song)
And throughout these times there hasn't been many an R&B artist who has lingered into the topics of spiritual faith and religion.True, there has been singers like destiny's child who have dedicated one or two of their songs to religion, but in account to my personal knowledge of R&B I cannot recall by memory anyone, Anyone within the realms of rhythm and blues who has produced an album based entirely on something that is most probably a true side of the artist himself.
I mean, with a career spanning for over a decade now one would have expected spiritual artists like himself to be thankful for what they believe in. Besides the songs being great (for both albums,the albums fucus on the same themes throughout. a little monotonous in my opinion, but very origional.

W LOVE 1,2,3 Love. the Music on the Happy People set alone are Classic&Feel Good.I can't even imagine how many more tracks that R.kelly cut from the Happy People Project but they are solid Gold to My Ears. the Happy People Album is the last Album that I Grooved to all the way from start to finish."U Saved Me" had a few cuts,but the Happy People Steppers Album is Feel Good Music all the way. "Love Street" is my cut.I hit the Corner&Just glide on home. "Weatherman" is a smooth Feel Good Cut with the strings&everything going on in the Background. Much Props to R.kelly for the shout Outs to Frankie Beverly&Marvin Gaye. the spirits of those Two PowerFul Soul brothers is felt through the Genius of R.Kelly's Music. I've had this double CD since it's release. As i type, i'm listening to the U-Saved me CD! It is just Wonderful. I play this CD, The only CD that i play continuously! I cant stand the Hip-Hop Gospel. R. Kelly makes you want go to church with this one. With songs like I SURRENDER, HOW DID YOU MANAGE, WHEN I THINK ABOUT YOU, PRAYER CHANGES THINGS; i could go on and on. Just buy the CD!!!

The Pied Piper of R&B has done it once again Ladies and Gentlemen. The first album is uplifting and makes you feel good. If you are down pop the Happy People album in and let Kellz take you to another place. The U Saved Me Side is simply phenominal. Kellz will give that spiritual passion to you that will take you to church. I recommend "Prayer Changes" " I surrender" and " How Did You Manage" On the steppers album, I recommend The entire side. This album Kellz really proves his musical diversity, though is has been shown all along. He shows he is more than sex. Once again he proves why he is the undisputed King of R&B. GET THIS ALBUM NOW!!!!! and remeber, HAPPY PEOPLE BABY!!!!!!

R.kelly has music for all occasions. this double collection has the cuts for saturday night&then the songs for sunday. a great collection of music&styles that only the "R" could pull off. the Happy People side is the side I use for riding&Driving. feel good music that just lifts the spirits.on Sunny days this feel good album really hits the spot.R.kelly Vocally is Soulful&brings it. I enjoy the strings&overall arrangements. the DJ spin to the Happy People Collection is a throwback vibe that is missing from today even by DJ's. U Saved me has spiritual songs that are uplifting. this double set will be better recieved in years to come. nobody makes music like R.kelly. He is the Musical Genius Of Our Time.
