About the Artist
Singer/Songwriter, Richard "Wayo" Hogan and Producer/Engineer/Musician, Steve Boyce have been creating music for over 15 years. Merkaba is their latest collaboration.

Richard Wayo Hogan is a veteran composer and performer. In The early 1980's Wayo teamed up with Rockabilly band Ravenna and the Magnetics. After touring England and Europe he returned to Seattle and began writing songs with author and illustrator Cooper Edens, and Steve Boyce. Currently their songs are represented by the William Morris Agency. Wayo's music has been used in Film Documentaries, Corporate presentations, Radio Ads, Magic Acts, and has been featured on N.P.R.. Along with Steve Boyce and Cooper Edens, the Coast was created, another illuminating band featuring Wayo, Eden, and Boyce's music. As a solo artist Wayo continues to perform his songs and piano compositions. His solo piano CD is entitled "Possible Luminaries".

Steve Boyce is a musician, music producer, audio engineer, songwriter, and interactive media audio producer who was a founder of Microsoft's digital audio department. In addition to his own groups, as a musician he has played with Chuck Berry, BB King and Spencer Davis. As an audio engineer he has toured around the world with diverse acts such as Yes, James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Gordon Lightfoot, Robert Cray, The Neville Brothers and more. Among the many groups Steve has produced, are MerKaBa, Variant Cause, Koo Dot Ta, Jimmy Frank, The Visible Targets, and is current production, zero-to-6. Steve is a member of the Board of Governors of the Pacific NW Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and the Jack Straw Foundation. He also serves on advisory boards of The Seattle Art Institute and Shoreline Community College.

Alan White is a music legend. He is a long time member of the British supergroup Yes, and a former member of The Plastic Ono Band with John Lennon and Eric Clapton. His list of recording and touring credits is extensive, including George Harrison, Joe Cocker, Spencer Davis, and many more. Alan's unique and powerful drumming is featured on MerKaBa's 10 minute Olore Malle.

WOW.......2001-07-19

I first caught this act in the summer of 2000 because Alan White of Yes was guesting with them. Well as spectacular as Mr. White is, he doesn't make this band. The bottom line is, this music just plain makes you feel good. I have played it for around 20 or so friends and without exception they loved it. I use it as a rush hour cd because it is impossible to harbor ill feelings towards that jerk that just cut you off when your soul is being soothed by those wonderful sounds. I cannot reccomend this release too strongly. It is a masterful work and I look forward to the next.

Extraordinary Music.......2001-07-04

This album is excellent! I put it on and dance, dance, dance and when I don't feel like dancing, I just put the headsets on and go into a deep trance space. The combination of didgeridoo mixed with flute, keys, guitar, drums, bass and the harmonies of the vocals create an amazing ecclectic sound that takes me into a dance trance place. This music reminds me of Moody Blues and some of the sounds from the 60's. Thank you, Merkaba!

Sixteen are original compositions written by Jack Schell. He added a special touch to his arrangements of Carlos Santana's All The Love In The Universe and Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On.

Many people that have heard and enjoyed Jack Schell's Ageless Music comment that this collection provokes a different range of emotions with each listen. And they all agree, Jack composes and performs very moving, very relaxing and very grounding music. John Mayall said, "I can see tracks #5 "John's Goin On" and #8 " Song To Last Forever" being used for movie or TV soundtracks. I enjoyed the music, keep playing!"

From the slow 50's style rock and roll of Billy The Biker to the dramatic Spanish countryside influence of Elena Maria, every listener is sure to discover a number of favorites. Perhaps yours will be Jack's Jazz, a Joan Miro inspired piece in which Jack plays the melody and then morphs it with syncopated rhythms. Perhaps it will be Israfel, a song Jack channeled directly onto the master during the recording session as a gift from the angelic hierarchy orchestra. Or, perhaps it will be Windex for Wesley, a song written to reflect the uninhibited and freewheeling sexual mores of the late 70s and early 80s.

kick back on a warm night on a beach on the oregon coast...or the gulf coast...and listen to the music play out...easy...flowing...whether sailing or crusin with the top down..evokes smiles and warm feelings...has caught real emotion on some tracks relating to real people ... subtle ... confident ... alive ... stimulating...with candlelight or fireplace or "Cristal" ..some tracks put a skip in your walk..others just make you feel good(rack 15)..as a listener not a musician..evokes a little "I'm walkin on air"..elton (billy the biker)...and a lot of himself...play it a few times to get into the music..it keeps getting better..its original .. clean...refreshing...keep it up fat jack ... what's next ?..hope you got another in the works..Stee-vee-G..
