5 out of 5 stars Wonderful CD!.......2004-09-30

Mike Fredo has an incredible talent. He can capture you far too easily with his voice. www.MikeFredo.com
Due to poor promotion, not enough people heard of Michael or were blessed enough to hear his CD. But if you give it a chance you'll add it to your list of favorites!
Mike has been working on a lot of new music since his release in '99 and soon you'll be able to add another CD by Fredo to your collection.
So if you LOVED this CD as much as I did... Then pass the word about Michael along...
This Time Around Michael is doing it right - he's putting out an album he can really be proud of ;)

3 out of 5 stars Fredo is now K5 and Better.......2003-09-03

Poor Michael Fredo-- mistakenly teamed up with Brittany spears on his first tour. (Yikes) Producers tried to make him into a marketable boy-toy. Now as a `man' his voice has grown, and he's incredible.

He recently played the "Tommy" stage at a Tori Amos concert, last week, with his brother Joe Fredo. His music is astonishing with: tight lyrics, and unique thoughts, and filled with raw emotion. The sad part is the poor guy is actually embarrassed about his boy-toy image from earlier in his career. It seems to overshadow his incredible talent. Luckily he has set up with a band, and is putting out some new music soon. This CD has its very good moment's and will give you a small taste of his talents, but the computer add-ins are an insult to his skills. I was shocked to discover Quincy Jones was one of the producers, Ouch! All the producers involved made bad, but typical, choices.

As for last week--Their performance was incredible, and they freely mingled with the crowd afterwards, signing CDs, and striking up conversations with fans. Michael and his brother Joe are sweet small town boys with incredible talent. they pass out hugs as easily as autographs. Their new band is K5, keep and eye out for their website. For now, Michael has a website set up you can check out. He has stepped out of the bright lights, NOT sold out, and started fresh. It's rare that one turns down the chance to go through the corporate door that guarantees CD sales. Yes, give the guy another chance.

I recommend seeing him and/or K5 live, and holding out for their new CD, but this one has some of the songs they sing live. They just sound better live. Buy the CD here or at the show, and get it autographed, as I did.

3 out of 5 stars Give Him Another Chance.......2001-05-24

I went to high school (PCS) with Michael Fredo, and I think listeners out there should give him another chance. I agree that this album really is not the best work he has. He used to perform a lot at the school and I believe that some of the stuff he personally composed are much more "fit" for his voice. I understand that in this album, his voice sounds really weak and the producer certainly didn't do his job right. (aside from the singning, the quality of the album is not very good) Yet, I don't believe this album means the end of his "pop singer" carrer. With the right direction and producer, if he sing songs that could show off his vocal style, he could certainly show his listeners how good a singer he is. And I don't think he got this cd contract easily. (I read some of the review and some reviewers belived that his uncle is the only reason he got the album contract) For years, he was just like some other pop singers, who struggled to get gigs and trying hard to get the traning they need. I think it is certainly unfair to say that everything he has just came with nothing. After all, it is not like he just "suddently" became his uncle's nephew. If all he need for the contract is his uncle's phone call, they could have done that years years ago. I certainly believe that we should give him another chance to do his album right.

1 out of 5 stars Not Worth A Listen.......2000-07-31

MICHAEL FREDO's debut album is unfortunately very weak. His voice is mediocre but his choice of cuts on this disc has done him total wrong! The up-tempo tunes are not catchy enough to make you want to dance and his ballads lack emotion...the only positive element? FREDO has penned several decent tunes on his album, perhaps he should pursue song-writing for other up-coming pop bands......

1 out of 5 stars God Help Us All!.......2000-04-10

After hearing "This Time Around", I kept thinking.. "who the heck would sign a guy like this for a record label". Little did I know, that his good ole' Uncle Andy Hilfiger had Uncle Tommy contact his friends to get him a record deal. This album epitomizes all that is wrong with teen pop today, and ruins what little reputation teen pop had. Michael's voice is weak, at best. The producers clearly did not produce songs that were at Mike's vocal levels, because his voice sounds so out of place on "This Time Around" the debut single which flopped BIG TIME! The rest of the songs on the album sound like filler material and the average no good "teeny bopper" songs. It's obvious, that Micheal had been hoping that his success would come along based on the heavy advertising that his Uncle Tommy was doing for him (including getting him a spot on the Britney Spears Tour, doing commericals, and including Micheal Fredo give aways at Britney Spears in store events). I'm glad the world has realized what Micheal really is, and that his album was flopped. It's time somebody who didn't have a rich uncle got a record contract based on what he could do and not who he knew! For good solo male pop acts, check out Don Philip, Robbie Williams, or Bosson.
