The individual movie soundtracks are better. The CDs have lots of songs but they are all mixed up. I have listened to them a bit - after coming back from Disney World couldn't get the songs out of my head and was frustrated with not remembering the words "It's a whole new world, da dat da da dat da...." Anyway, I plan to buy my favorite movie soundtracks instead.

I've given this album 5 stars if nothing more than to possibly encourage some folks to take a closer look. As one reviewer here says, you need to be aware that not all the songs (or even the majority) are by the original artists. There are a lot of covers here, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Some of the covered tracks are a refreshing look at old standards you've heard so many times (or probably have already) that anyone who enjoys Disney music should have in their collection. Indeed, there are some tracks here I've found no where else (and I have quite an extensive Disney collection, with over 20 albums of "just" collections, not to mention individual movie and themed albums). Out of this three CD set I found 22 tracks I needed to have in my collection.

But that, alas, is also the drawback here. There are many many tracks that most people who enjoy Disney already have, which means you will be paying a hefty ($30) price for what amounts to one CD. And I can't even recommend this to newbees who would like to get a good "overview" of Disney without buying a whole lot of CDs -- for that there are two great options (unfortunately, both a touch hard to come by -- Classic Disney: 60 Years of Musical Magic is an import that has more of a contemporary feel, despite the title, but the granddaddy of them all is The Music Of Disney - A Legacy in Song, no longer in print but available from Amazon in used and new sections).

For those with lots of Disney music already I still think you should examine the tracks carefully here and compare it to your own collection and decide if it's worth adding. For me it was (but then I'm a Disneyholic who moved across country to be near Disney World :>)

I was really hoping it would have the original songs from the movies by the characters who sang them IN the movies. However, a lot of them are from the artists who performed them after the fact or who wrote them. Kind of a bummer. It wasn't all of them, but a lot of them. Still pretty good though.

"Bear in the Big Blue House: Greatest Hits" is a compilation album featuring 26 songs put together from the show's original album releases --- "Songs from Jim Henson's Bear in the Big Blue House" and "More Songs from Jim Henson's Bear in the Big Blue House." It's a great set of songs, but unfortunately there's nothing here that's not already available on another album. This is too bad, because this show still has so many great songs that can't yet be heard on any album.

Overall, this is a good album if you want to hear some of the best music from the show. But if you already have the original to albums or are able to obtain them, then there's really no reason to get this.

    I wouldn't consider this to be Christy Romano's debut album as a recording artist 'cause these songs were just put together from her work on soundtracks, except for "Dive In." However, this is still a nice little CD to listen to. The songs are catchy, and she seems to have fun on a lot of them. Her version of "Teacher's Pet" is addictive and you can't help but smile when you hear the beginning of "Say the Word." Christy Romano is a Disney favorite and is probably the most appealing because of her character on Even Stevens, and she also sings better than other Disney divas such as Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and Ashley Tisdale. She has that special personality that just has you hooked. Her credit in Broadway's Parade and Beauty and the Beast doesn't hurt her appeal either. Even though this album is short, I think only 25 minutes, it's has a nice variety. The only song I don't really like is her version of "Colors Of The Wind." Besides that, she sounds great!

    This album is horrible. Christy's voice is annoying and most of the songs she sings are very childish. The only song that is sorta good is Colors Of The Wind. This album is good for the pre-teen crowd but I would not recommend it for older teens. If you want to hear REAL TALENT and a good album check out "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson.

    Christy is a good singer and a very nice person, too - but this album isnt for everyone. It's only for those who like "kiddy music". The lyrics and tunes are for kids and dont reccommend this for anyone over the age of 14.

    Christy should really come out with a REAL album which isnt a compilation of Disney soundtrack songs. That would be interesting!

    The best songs on this album are 'Dive In' 'Say The Word' and 'Lets Bounce'.

    im telling you i love christy carlson romano and i think this album is really good but at the same time its not that great. i think christy has a really great voise but her voise was cut out more for opera than it was for pop. I mean she played belle for the beauty and the beast the opera version. she was really good. and then you listen to her trying to sing pop and its ok but her voise just wasent really meant for it.But aother than that the album is really good with really good songs. Now if your not into the whole disney preppy girl songs like her song dive in than you most likely wont like this cd but if your sorta into that kinda of music you will totally love this cd. so i hope my review has helped you made a dession on rather you want to buy this cd or not. david lance.

    Most of the songs were well performed on this CD!You'll love the upbeat 70s tempo and you'll be singing along and tappinng your feet.The only gripe I have about this CD is the slow and boring "Lavender Blue"-it's so slow that it will put you to sleep.I personally think they should've done "Tiki Room" or "So This Is Love" instead.

    The Mike Curb Congregation give some lovely performances of these Disney treasures. The ballads are especially beautiful. "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" is downright gorgeous. "When You Wish Upon A Star" is fantastic and gets a really heartfelt treatment. The arrangements and vocals are great on this disc. Some of the songs like "It's A Small World" and "Spoonful of Sugar" from the Mary Poppins medley, have groovy seventies arrangements, but they are really fun. I can remember when this album was played in the waiting area for Walt Disney World's "Mickey Mouse Revue".

    Other standouts on this disc are "The Snow White Medley" ( really nice ) and "Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. If you love classic Disney songs, this CD is for you.

    Look for interesting vocal arrangements of these classics elsewhere - this is pretty bland stuff, with the medleys (Snow White and Mary Poppins) coming off especially forced. The ballads here are some of the best written for Disney productions, but all are given generic, ploddy and syrupy sweet renditions. Of the other numbers, "Winnie the Pooh" made me yearn for the Louis Prima version, and "It's a Small World" had me leaping for the fast forward button. There are bright spots, however, and they are dandies: a rousing "Bare Neccessities" complete with a snazzy kickline coda and a terrific, wonderfully arranged "Zip a Dee Doo Dah" that is sure to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Two stars for two good cuts on an otherwise blah CD.

    The Mike Curb Congregation do some great versions of these Disney songs. This singing group is just great. This album has beautifully arranged medleys from the great films, and lively renditions of the more spirited Disney numbers. It is a pleasure and will definately put you in a great mood.

    My wife and I purchased Disney Hits 1 & 2 for our 16 month old daughter. She goes to sleep to these CDs every night because they soothe her. She loves the music from the Disney movies themselves instead of the remakes from other artists.

    In this two-disc CD pack, you'll get all the classic Disney songs like, "Some Day My Prince Will Come", and "The Circle of Life." I'm not the type of person who listens to this kind of music, but since it's from the classic Disney flicks I used to watch as a kid, there's an exception. If you're the kind of person that enjoys Disney music like I do, then these are the CD's for you!

    I am a Disney fan. I admit it freely and without shame. So naturally when I saw this album I decided that I had to have it. It starts off great, with the modern Lion King and other Disney favorites, in all their radio version glory. Unfortunately, there is a notable gap in the playlist. The cd does not include the Beauty and the Beast duet, which is one of the best radion version Disney songs out there. And I also was disappointed to see the caliber of the songs degrade as the cd progressed. The last few songs on the cd were not worth hearing, and certainly do not deserve to be considered the Greatest pop hits. I was annoyed enough to burn the songs I liked and add Beauty and the Beast and You'll Be in My Heart from Tarzan, creating a cd that truly deserved the name Greatest Pop Hits.

    I thought this CD is very, very good. I really have the tape verison I got for my bithday but it's the same thing. It has songs from the movies The Lion King, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Toy Story, Cinderella, Hercules, and others. And different artists Elton John, Venessa Williams, Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle Randy Newmen, Lyle Lovett, Jon Secada, Linda Ronstadt, Donna Summer, Jimmy Cliff and many others. I think this cd or tape is really good for little kids who like the movies the songs on this cd(or tape) are from. I recommed this cd(or tape) for any age but more little kids. Most of songs on this cd are beautiful or fun to lesson to or sing along. It has the song If I Never Knew You that was cut out from the movie Pocahontas! Buy it Today.

    Cute tape. Nice songs. I agree with the person who said they wished "Beauty and the Beast" featuring Celine Dion was on there. "Never Alone" is so sweet you could cry. The best-ever Elton songs, "Circle" and "Can You Feel" are on here, and so is the so-beautiful "Colors of the Wind" by Vanessa Williams. If you are a fan of pop, Disney or both, get this CD today!

    I don't know about all you people all there, adults and children alike, but I thought that the Disney songs in the movie were dull and boring. However, when I got this CD out of a GOOD recommendation, I noticed these songs were from the ending credits, beginning credits, etc. (Which were the exact songs I enjoyed the most!) I especially liked several of the songs on this album including "Can you feel the love tonight" from Elton John; "Whole New World" from Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle; "Circle of Life" from Elton John again; "Colors of the Wind" from Vanessa Williams; "Go the Distance" from Michael Bolton; "If I never knew you" from Jon Secada and Shanice. These six songs were the best on the album, and it is definetely worth your money.

    However, if you like the songs in the actual MOVIE itself (not ending/beginning credits); May I suggest the Classic Disney albums. This album series has five, I believe, in its series. I do not suggest wasting your money and buying all of them. I especially liked the 1st and 2nd album; you may also take a look at the most recent (the 5th album). Great stuff, don't miss out.

    I really enjoyed this album a lot, but I never heard the song sung by Celine Diona and Peobo Bryson, the ultimately beautiful Beauty and the Beast ballad. Why is that song not on this album? Other than that, I felt that this album was spectacular.

      As an import, this cd took a while to actually be delivered but it was well worth it! The disks are magical. A fabulous blend of original classic Disney favorites and modern remakes. After every track I keep saying "Wow!" I just gets better and better. I have always loved "When You Wish Upon a Star" and the Louis Armstrong version is my favorite version to date! If you are a Disney fan, you must have this cd! Why England is blessed with this cd while the United States is not is beyond me!

      This is a really incredible collection. Who would've thought that yet another Greatest Hits cd from Disney could have so many suprises? I sure didn't and believe me, I have A LOT of Disney cd's. There are a total of 36 songs on the two discs, representing Dsiney films from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs right up to Dionsaur. A lot of these are available on other discs, but there are also many exclusive remakes by various artists. The Sounds of Blackness remakes Zero To Hero into a club hit, Dr. John sings a very jazzy Cruella De Vil, Jocelyn Brown sings A Star Is Born and The Gospel Truth (both from Hercules), Louis Armstrongs version of Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo is simply pure magic, there are two versions of Someday, one by Eternal and a totally revamped disco version by Donna Summer that has to be heard to be believed! But my favorite cut has to be the final one. Louis Armstongs version of When You Wish Upon A Star rivals that of the original. All of these remakes (and plenty more) are worth listening to and most are either very good or great. Don't get worried if you don't like remakes though, because the majority of the songs on the discs are the originals. A stand out is the sound quailty on Little April Shower from Bambi that has always sounded very grainy and muddled in past recordings but souds exceptionally clear here.

      The packaging is terrific, with a paper slip cover and pictures from each film represented, in the booklet. Moreover, both discs are housed in a regular size jewel case to save valuable shelf space. Why this hasn't been released stateside is beyond me, but thankfully you can get it...I can't think of a beter gift for a Dsiney, music or film fan! How can you go wrong with a 75 year legacy of song?

      The titla says it all- Anybody will enjoy these CDs- you and your children can sing along the same songs from the movies- I love that the songe are sang by the charactors from the movies and not by Pop stars-
