Editorial Reviews
Supporting his new CD that brings to mind the fictional stage of Stevie Wonder and Billy Joel playing with those guys from Steely Dan, Richard Ernest and Moving Still Life executed a wonderful collage of in your pocket grooves with such precision that any Zen master would smile on Wednesday, June 4th at Kenny1s Castaways in the West Village.
Ernest's emotional packed lyricism and delivery lends to a much larger room though. They ought to be heard in the hugeness that these musician are feeling it. His luscious tonality and sincere command of dynamics artistically applied to these tunes ebb and flow along side the painful ballads and sentimentality for his friends of past, present and future.
Finally, good clean musicianship has a spokesman. Keep your eyes and ears open for Ernest, this guy is on to something.
