Father John Graden is a Catholic priest and preacher who presents parish renewal programs and retreats in numerous settings around the USA. He was first ordained in 1975, and began recording in 1992. Father John is a member of a religious community, the Oblates of St.Francis de Sales.

Album Description

As featured on "Music Choice" satellite TV, these ten tracks hold the New Age/Soft Jazz piano and keyboard sounds of Joseph Akins. Some tracks, such as the compelling title track, "Keys to the Heart", are reminiscent of the gentle sounds of Yanni while other tracks, such as "Fred, the Funky Dragon", are whimsical, upbeat and fun. Haunting, ethereal female vocals are added to half of the tracks by his wife, Unita. Imagine Enya sitting in with Yanni. Additional instruments include flute, bass flute, classical guitar and exotic percussion. "Keys to the Heart", an impressive debut album from composer/keyboardist Joseph Akins, creates a musical treasure for the heart.

The album "Keys to the heart" is the most relaxing music that I'v ever heard. I can come home from work, all stressed out, put this cd on and be relaxed in no time. The music and words are written by two very tallented people, Joseph & Unita Akins. Their sequal album is also wonderful. It sounds like its being sung by an angel. I would recomend either one for a person who like to hear good, relaxing music.

With a name like this, I expected more traditional Christian music.

This set is contemporary Christian, not traditional. It was not my cup of tea.
