About the Artist
Bob Salisbury began organ lessons at the age of ten and theatre organ at age twelve, studying with Gaylord Carter. He began playing the Page Pipe Organ in the Casino Theatre at age fifteen. He left Avalon in 1964 and played organ at the 488 Keys in Redondo Beach, California for ten years, followed by a six-year period playing piano for Princess Cruises. In 1979 Bob moved back to Avalon and returned to playing "before the movies" as well as working for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at the Avalon Station. Bob has retired and lives in Running Springs. He returns to Avalon for his annual silent movie presentation to benefit the Catalina Museum the third Saturday of June. Bob continues to give concerts and record. His next concert/recording is always "the next one".

The Page Theatre Pipe Organ was built during the years 1928-1929. It is one of the few remaining organs in their original installation and continues to be played "before the movies". The Page is a 4 manual, sixteen rank organ.
