5 out of 5 stars The Best Lene's Album.......2006-07-03

This album is the best Lene's Album I have ever listened. All the songs are really nice, especially those of Sitting down here, Where I'm headed, May be I'll go, Flown away and A place near by. Even Lene would prefer to listen to this album than those of her later albums.

I really enjoy this album.

3 out of 5 stars This cd ain't the best in the world but better than others.......2005-09-15

I bought this album coz the booklet and the cover were really well done and coz I liked Unforgivable Sinner, but I expected it to be better. The singles which came out were ok, no doubt, but the other tracks are so boooooring....my God, I put this cd in the player when I need to get a sleep! I don't say the songs are bad, they have a good sound, but there's too slowness, Lene would need faster songs!! My fav track is Playing My Game, in this song she has got a very sweet voice. Anyway, if I had to advise a cd of Lene Marlin I would recommend this, coz the second is worse, and to tell the truth I can't stand it! At least in "Playing My Game" there's something to listen to.

4 out of 5 stars Promising debut .......2005-09-06

This the first studio album from lene marlin, it had a main single which was "sitting down here" and in the uk it done reasonably well. The album did recieve quite alot of good press but was never a big seller out of her own country of Norway.

Most of this album has alot of gentle songs, guitar and soft beat driven. It has some more up-beat songs aswell, with some light electric guitar influence. Definately an album to invest in, may not grab you at first but is a definate grower, in my opinion the best albums are the ones you don't get too bored with easily after a few listens, and this is one of them.

5 out of 5 stars So I See The Way We Are...Maybe I'll Go.......2005-08-02

One of the most under-rated albums of all time. Lene Marlin released this stunner about 6 years ago to date and 6 years on, I am still blown away by the quality of her debut album. Lyrically the songs may sometimes be a touch too mysterious, but melodically she is absolutely triumphant.

Highlights include every single song, but personally 'Flown Away' and 'A Place Nearby' (which was written for a friend who had passed away) are the soul breakers or menders.

Personally one of my favourite albums of all time, perhaps second only to U2's 'The Joshua Tree'.

5 out of 5 stars Buy it from Amazon.de.......2004-12-21

If you planning on buying Another Day and Playing my game from Amazon, I suggest you get it from Amazon Germany (i.e. www.amazon.de). I just paid only Euro 14.00 for both of these albums. It is available as a double album from Amazon Germany. Great Deal. It would be a total of $39 USD including standard shipping.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great pop-soft rock music.......2004-01-29

I discovered this CD in England where Lena Marlin is very successful. The CD is a series of ballads that are sung with heart and cheer, good rythm, and you just want to sing or hum along.
If you like K's choice, the Cranberries etc, then you will like that one too.

4 out of 5 stars Fun and uplifting.......2003-07-05

Interesting mix of music. We like to listen to this CD while we do housework.

5 out of 5 stars Why isn't this girl flaunting her talent?.......2002-07-23

I loved 'Sitting Down Here' so much I bought the album without thinking what could her other tracks could be like. To my disappointment on first listening they all sounded very similar with little room for variation. However, on further listening I was drawn in by the sonority and ease of her voice and the peacefulness of her guitar playing. I fell in love with the album. It has now been over two years and I haven't come across a second, and by the way things look I shouldn't be expecting one. Lene, stop wasting your talent and flaunt it!

3 out of 5 stars Good but a little too same-y.......2002-06-12

Lene Marlin crashed onto the music scene with radio-friendly guitar pop record 'Sitting Down Here', a tune that was one of the best songs of the year. She followed it up with the even better 'Unforgiveably Sinner', but unfortunately despite extensive radio play it didn't do too well for her. This may well have had something to do with the early release of her album, which although it wasn't panned, certainly wasn't hailed as 'the next big thing'. The problem is that from her first two singles Lene Marlin promised too much and gave too little.

Containing three excellent tracks - the two singles and the gorgeously haunting 'A Place Nearby' - the rest is mostly filler. Many of the songs just sound like variations on 'Sitting Down Here', in particular 'Where I'm Headed' which surely at least uses the same loop. At the end of the day it's a nice enough album and completely inoffensive, but guitar-driven teenage pop has had to make way for the likes of Britney and Christina. It's a shame really that the album is such a let-down, and even this is only because her singles are so good, but this album has little up its sleeve but the singles. And unfortunately this style of adult-orientated pop probably won't go down well with the teen market that Lene Marlin seems to be aiming for. Still, the potential for a great artist is definitely there, and it's impressive that at such a young age she's able to write an entire album all by herself, but it might be wiser in the future to bring in other elements.

5 out of 5 stars Very Different from Britney, Christina etc........2002-04-18

I heard Sitting Down Here countless times on the radio in 1999 or thereabouts and fell absoutely in love with the song. I downloaded it on Napster and listened to it over and over again. But I didn't hear anything more about Lene Marlin so I figured she must have been a one-hit wonder. But then I downloaded Unforgivable Sinner and fell even more in love with her songs. So when I happened to see a copy of her CD in a CD shop I immediantly bought it. And I'm very happy to say it was money well spent. Even though not all of the tracks are ones you'll listen to over and over again and sing along to, they're ones that are excellent 'chilling out' music or the like. The ones you can sing along to which in my case include, Sitting Down Here, Unforgivable Sinner, The Way We Were, So I See and Where I'm Headed. But this really is a good CD and if you have a chance, buy it!

Lene Marlyn has a lovely voice and youcan hear it along the whole cd. Songs like "sitting down here" and "so i see" show you that you never be disapointed to buy this cd, but there is some others quite slow, anyway she has a whole life to improve and I bet she will do it, a good album, fair enough.

once in a while we get the chance to witness a new star here is one with very little advertising or gimicks this brigth star has given ten songs to marvel at and there is not a single word to discribe the album. she offers an insight into her views this gives each song an edge to it and invites you to listen and become involved in each song.a very difficult album to turn off not a single bad song and as good a debut album as i've heard.with the music set a tariffic mood lene marlin's angelic voice just blows you into a world that allows you to drift with the music. an under rated album worth buying.
