Ultimate Collection for Hard Core Carpenters Fans.......2004-01-31

Just when I thought I was done buying Carpenters CDs for my collection, this box set came along. It's very expensive, yes, but it is a collector's edition and only a limited amount is available. All the albums are displayed in a clean, compact box, and the original vinyl album sleeves AND inserts are used. Even the record labels are in the original format on the CDs. There is also a detailed booklet and Richard adds a lot of interesting notes and information about each album.
Both Christmas albums are included, which is a nice bonus, but missing is the '69-73 Singles CD. All of the tracks are from the original recordings and remastered incredibly well. There is no remixing or re-recording here, so Karen's voice is not reverbed out. The CDs sound like the original recordings but are extremely clear and crisp.
If you are into the original Carpenter's sound, definitely get this box set.
