Hailing from Rubi, Spain, Rafael Martinez Espinosa aka Geistform first caught the attention of the industrial-world with the release of "Uno" on Daft Records which was followed by numerous gigs across Europe, including highlights at festivals such as the Daft festival (Belgium), Maschinenfest (Germany) and the Indieference festival (Spain). Rafael then entered the spotlight again with his impressive contribution to Dive's new and successful album "Behind The Sun", giving this legendary band an all new sound dimension. Geistform now returns with the new "Sequentia 2.0" album.
This new album continues Geistform’s journey and experimentations in the realm of elegant chaos. The main sound sources of Geistform originate from MS-20 samples and radio emissions (noises, frequencies, etc.) mixed with digital noises and raw data. The Spanish artist finds inspiration for his work in the images of antique machines, systems, radios, valves... These signals are what Geistform is all about -- a unique sonic collage experience of percolating bleeps and vibrating noises. For those who enjoy making comparisons, Geistform sounds like a mixture of Pan Sonic, Aphex Twin, and Boards of Canada.
