Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars They're Getting Better.......2003-09-25

Before I start, I have to mention that I'm a twothirtyeight addict, so what I have to say is definitely biased. This album, still available from takehold records, is a shining example of Christian influenced emo/rock. The album is fantastic overall, the lyrics and guitars are great. If you like sad emo ala Dashboard Confessional, but you're also addicted to the poppy emo from bands like Jimmy Eat World, this is an excellent compromise that maintains artistic integrity without selling out to a single particular style (and no whiny Chris Carabba vocals!). The album has several extraordinary fast paced and semi-hard emo/punk influenced songs, but they all seem to maintain a level of pop that makes the music accessible to almost any music lover. And while I'm a lover of all things rock, the song: "You Made a Way for Moses" is an incredible and heart-touching acoustic song that will haunt your mind for hours after hearing it. Chris Staples and crew have an excellent way of matching their music to their lyrics. This is a great buy, my biggest complaint is that it is far too short and significantly underproduced (compared to "Regulate the Chemicals" and "You Should Be Living").

3 out of 5 stars Hit and miss.......2001-09-03

What we have here is an interesting album by a very capable band. It starts strong with two very rocking emo-punk songs, somewhat reminiscent of Jawbreaker. Then, the album hits a big four song lull in the middle, drowning in emo cliches and boring music. Then, it picks back up with "You Made A Way For Moses", and amazing heartfelt acoustic song, and closes with a more upbeat rock song. There are some awesome tunes here, and each track has something to like, but musically some more thought could have been put into this. Also, the vocals and production are somewhat unpolished. Lyrically, this album is one of my favorites, but I wouldn't recommend to someone that is just getting into indie rock.

5 out of 5 stars Emo at its best.......2001-05-16

Twothirtyeight is so talented and this cd proves it. The songs are sad but yet hopeful and I love all the songs I've heard on this album. The songs start off slow and then get heavier and heavier until they explode into a nice, hard chorus. Ahh, I love it.

5 out of 5 stars I'M SO HAPPY, I'M CRYING.......1999-11-11

This is one of the best albums ever, great artwork also from a great band, which words cannot describe, if this was any better it would be bishop montgomery football

5 out of 5 stars MY FAVORITE CD OF ALL TIME.......1999-10-23

Twothirtyeight is one of the greatest bands that I have ever heard. They have a sound that is unparalelled to any band. This CD is a must in any good CD collection
