Absolutely Pure & Beautiful.......2005-10-31

If you buy no other classical music, buy this collection. CD 1 (Relax) is perfect for dinner, quiet entertaining or just soft music while you're working. From "Come Away With Me", to "Whiter Shade of Pale" to "Knights in White Satin"... each piece is it's own movement - and moved you will be... Perfect for a romantic evening. CD2 is more robust, but equally entertaining. "Layla", "Livin On A Prayer", Stairway to Heaven", "Run to You" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" - you owe it to yourself to hear these licks performed by the RPO.

It really isn't rock, but it is a very pleasant presentation of popular music, rendered in creative ways by a full symphony orchestra. It sounds like the orchestra had a great time making these CD's.

I received this as a present and at first I wasn't sure if I would like it because I don't like some of the original songs, but there's something about hearing the orchestra play that makes me like all of them. Just try it out.

Reuben Studdard does a great job on this CD. "Flying Without Wings" is defintely one of the best recordings to come out over the last few years and his version is truly touching. I hope Reuben records more of these type songs in the future, I'll be first on line to get a copy.

I feel sorry for you all over in America that you have to endure this dire cover version of Flying Without Wings, because the ORIGINAL version, as performed by Irish band Westlife is a million times better. Ok, the title of this thing is Flying without wings. Ruben couldn't fly if he had wings because he weighs too dang much. His wings would literally have to stretch over city blocks to get him off the ground. The song is awesome though, Go Ruben!!

I know its cheesy, and slightly uncool to like soppy songs by boybands, but this really is a fantastic piece of songwriting. The lyrics are really poignant, and its not just about being head over heels in love with a girlfriend/boyfriend, its about all the little things in life that make us happy...or should do, if only we noticed them more often. Great vocals by the lads, this is one that is best sung Karaoke-style with your closest friends. Can be a bit of a tear jerker though, so watch out!

Inspirational Song.......2000-07-01

Westlife have done it again! This is the best song I've heard by these guys. Even my mom likes the song. It has a little bit of a gospel feel to it. It makes the song unique. Mark and Shane did an awesome job with the lead vocals on this song. If you're a Westlife fan and haven't heard this song yet, I definitely recommend buying this cd.

Yes, it is the Record of The Year. This song won the award in England and without a doubt, it's a good song you know. Lyrics in the song is a peom itself...

Isn't that meaningful? With the music and the great vocals of Westlife and the choir, who can deny the success of the song?

I think that this is a great song! Possibly one of the best love songs ever written and the album is full of them , so if you're looking for a jumpin' LARGER THAN LIFE song , you aren't gonna find it here! But Westlife are incredibly vocally gifted and deserve every bit of success they get and can I just say that is it just me or does everything Ronan Keating touch turn to gold!

This is my 3rd review for westlife. In all honesty, this is the song that I hated the most at the start. BUT, I fell in love with this one when I heard the a capella version (so check out the a capella first). AND check out the lyrics. You'll think it wasn't a love song until the very end. But it is! It speaks of the indescribable feeling that hits a person when finally they've discovered that thing or person that sends them Flying Without Wings.

I must say this is an excellent effort by a relatively unknown artist hailing from the western suburbs of Milwaukee. Upon putting this disc into my CD player i was immediately whisked through a journey of guitar soundscapes reminiscent of '70's greats Jimmy Page and Carlos Santana. Yet instead of sounding stale and time-worn... the aural tapestries were fresh and uplifting. I especially enjoyed the title track, Flying Without Wings,a blend of jazz, rock, and blues. Also noteworthy are My Hope and Midlife Teenage Angst. I would recommend this to any guitar afficiando who appreciates soulful and tasteful playing. My only gripe would be the CD was not long enuough!

Flying Colors for Flying Without Wings.......2000-06-17

Westlife has entered the charts at number 1 for the third time with the song Flying Without Wings, which is a slow ballad. I especially liked the way the five Irish lads harmonized with the lyrics about the joys and highs of life's loves and relationships.

Another Westlife song that entered the charts at number 1, Seasons in the Sun is a revival that surpassed the achievement of the original Seasons in the Sun. I really liked this song not only because of the familiar tune, but because this is one of the songs where each of the lads do solos. Once you hear their wonderful voices one by one in this order: Kian, Bryan, Shane, Mark, and Nicky, you won't wonder why the group has achieved success and world-wide fame in less than one year in the music industry. A bonus is the intro of wind instruments and the piano accompaniment. My parents, aunts, and uncles now know that westlife exists and agree that they are indeed good with the help of this song.

The last song track, I Have a Dream, is another revival of the ABBA hit. Although it sounds like a slower version of the ABBA song, though still faster than Flying Without Wings, what I enjoyed from this track is the interaction of voices (first voice, second voice, and third voice) which weaves a fun and delightful melody. Also, there's the group's use of supporting voices, children's voices, which brighten up the song.

I love this single. These guys are very talented and with each of there voices harmonizing it sends me to heaven. This beautiful ballad touches u in ur heart and gives u a little imagination of "Flying WIthout WIngs". It takes me to heaven and it should u. I cant wait to see them in concert.

The first-ever single released by Westlife,"Flying Without Wings" is a great track and reveal the quality of this marvellous marvellous Irish pop boyband. This song is a perfect love ballad and despite its low-tempo rhythm appeals massively to the listener's heart. "Fluing Without Wings" is not necessarily the best track that thhis fantastic bunch of singers can make but travels a long way in illustrating the class of the group. The boys accomplish this song with conviction and purpose and portray their quality to make some really stunning music. "Flying Without Wings" is a great debut single.

When I listened to "Flying Without Wings" for the fist time the only thing I could say was: WOOOOWW! Westlife's guys are very talented! Their harmony is waaay better than all others boy bands. And also they sing with feelings. That's what makes them so good! This song is SOOOO beautiful! The lyrics are so deep! It touches my heart every time I listen to this song. My advice? Buy it NOW!
