3 out of 5 stars Good Musicianship, mediocre lyrics.......2007-07-19

I might be biased because I've hear very little of God Dethroned, but "The Toxic Touch" was dissapointing. The CD has some excellent riffs, the drumming is complex, and the guitar solos are energetic and melodic. However, the lyrics and vocals are VERY mediocre. He seems to be whining half the time about how he hates everything and wants to die, and his vocal range is minimul on this CD. If you're a melodic death fan, listen before you buy it.

1 out of 5 stars Hackneyed and cliched.......2007-05-08

Nothing original comes through on this album. It's basically every other European melodic death metal album done half as well while beig far too serious about itself. Lyrically the album is a joke. The singer wants to sound like a tough guy yet the entire time I can't help but think that he often goes crying home to his mother. Just awful writing. It's just as well, his vocal styling isn't nearly as brutal as most. It's too weak.

Musically, as I said, nothing really special. The drumming is the highlight. I would recommend he find himself a band more suitable to his talents.

There's not much else to say. Skip this one.

5 out of 5 stars THE metal CD to own!.......2007-01-16

Here is the thing with God Dethroned-- when they came out with "Into the Lungs Of Hell" I was so blown away with it that I told everyone that that was THE metal CD to own...and then when they released "The Lair of the White Worm" they outdid themselves and it became THE next CD everyone needed to own. Now they did it again with the " The Toxic Touch". Trust me, this is THE CD you need to own! Actually, all three CD's are MUST haves and if you own all three about 90% of your music collection is now obsolete. Henri is THE voice of metal, the drums are the best on anything I have heard- guitars, bass-- you name it--it can't be beat. The mix on the Toxic Touch CD is heart pounding and the only fault I can find on it is that I want more of it--it ends with me wanting it to keep going on...I can't believe God Dethroned isn't the biggest metal band going but with the way they are heading here with each CD it won't be long now.....All three CDs are different but necessary and your collection is totally lost without them. The most addictive band there is!

5 out of 5 stars this release is poisonous!.......2006-11-14

the blast beats may be limited, but God Dethroned still knows how to tear it up with or without them. pardon me for saying this, but they seemed to pick up some melody since their last album "Lair of the White Worm". God Dethroned has proved to the death metal community that it can make do with less blast beats and more melody, and still kick some serious butt!

5 out of 5 stars Hell on earth as come!!!.......2006-11-03

    4 out of 5 stars WHAT A RUSH !!!.......2007-07-14

Incredible Boston harcore band that blends mega-fast american hardcore, and grindcorish crust complete with gruffed vocals, blazing guitars and a super fat bass sound. The drumming is unreal and the breaks are amazing. It's incredible that they can slow down for some seconds and then pick up that frantic pace in the blink of an eye!! These dudes are so tight it squeaks !!! Only 30'long but it's more than your ears will be able to take if you like it loud ( the only way to play this, BTW). The lyrics are VERY hard, commited anarcho-politico-ecological but realistic in some sort of very pesimistic way.CONS ? A tad repetitive for my taste. There's a 21st Century Discography cd released by an independent company that includes this cd with more recent tracks from singles and eps, some of which pick up reggae influences in a tasteful, hard way, and it's been remastered by the singer; only real bummer that one doesn't include any lyrics with the booklet. The sound on this cd is very good. If you like this one you really should pick up these guys DVD. It's awesome and dirt-cheap to boot !!!

5 out of 5 stars The 'Reign in Blood' of punk.......2006-07-20

You heard me right. The only other album that comes close to the pure hatered, aggression, speed, and heaviness of 'We're All Doomed' is Slayer's epic album, 'Reign in Blood'. It lacks the leads of King and Hanneman and the drum technicality of Lombardo, but makes up for these deficiencies with blast beats and arguably more aggressive vocals. From the first track to the last, you will experience aural obliteration like no punk band before (and probably after, until TN's new album comes out) has unleashed. To all you metalheads out there who think that punk rock is all about A.F.I., give this album a listen. You WILL be pleasantly suprised.

5 out of 5 stars IHATEPOSERS, ANTIFLAG, AND CRASS.......2005-05-20

THESE GUYS ARE YET ANOTHER GREAT BAND IN THE BOSTON SCENE. THEY SOUND UNIQUE, SO I WILL NOT EVEN TRY TO DESCRIBE THEM.

5 out of 5 stars Remember your Ear Plugs.......2004-03-03

If you have never heard Toxic Narcotic, I pity your poor worthless weakling poser soul. Toxic Narcotic are without a doubt one of the best crust/hardcore/thrash/punk bands in existence. For the past fifteen years, TN has given fans of hardcore what they wanted: angry, violent, and relentless music without pity or backing down. With songs about drinking, murder, the disgrace the human race is, hypocracy and hate, TN gives punk fans their money's worth, and other bands a real challange. Brutally honest and fast that is not recommended for the faithful, weak at heart, emo kids, and mankind loving people.

4 out of 5 stars Music for fetishistic vampires...........2001-11-27

This CD is dark with a capital D - not necessarily a bad thing depending on one's mood. Christian Fuchs reminds me of some artsy, creepy poem writing guys I've dated and never brought home to the parents. His vocals send chills up and down my spine. Kim Jin-A's voice doesn't have quite as much presence or impact, but they seem to compliment eachother well. My favorite track is "Sterile Penthouse". I also like "Clench", which has a Trent Reznor like sneer to it. I have to say, I didn't adore this album right off the bat, but once I listened to it a couple of times I succumbed to the oozy, brooding blackness and raspy psychosexual offerings of Christian Fuchs. This is music for break ups, when someone has stolen your parking space, and of course, a rainy day (preferably with thunder). Very moody. Give it a try, you might like it.

5 out of 5 stars By far Britney's best since '...Baby' & 'Oops!'.......2005-06-28

It's a song that everyone just can't stop shouting about. Britney Spears' Grammy-winning dance track "Toxic" is by far the standout and best single off of her album In the Zone, and is her best since 1998's No. 1 breakout smash "...Baby One More Time" and 2000's "Oops!...I Did It Again." The song's dance/funk-infused rhythms, hot vocals and eye-poppin' incredible video make this a classic pop tune of the ages. DA BOMB, simply put.

5 out of 5 stars Toxic [UK CD] ~ Britney Spears.......2005-04-07

Toxic is a great single with Britney in some strange pose on the cover. The song starts with a quirky intro and has a ton of strings in it, yet it is not a ballad and it has a certain 70's sound to it. Like Britney meets Disco and the result is great. The lyrics are a bit odd and I have no idea what she is talking about. Her vocals are great and she looks great as always albeit a bit odd this time. This is a great track for the dance floor and the use of the strings make this another amazing track from Spears.

4 out of 5 stars Best Version of the Toxic Singles out there!.......2004-08-03

'Toxic' is easily one of the best songs off of britney's 'in the zone' album. the song is a catchy and energetic techno/pop song. the twangy guitars and beautifully urgent stringwork give the song has a very 'james bond' vibe to it. there are 3 remixes featured on this single. 1st off there is the 'lenny bertoldo mixshow edit' which undoubtedly is the best remix of the lot. it features the full vocals from the original track which is always a good thing in my book. the remix is a mixture of a steady bass line with some great synths. this remix flows really well and doesn't take away anything from the harmony of the song. the remix even adds some intensity to pre-chorus and chorus. basically this is an awesome remix and should really be given some attention because it honestly is one of the best remixes i've ever heard. next up is the 'Armand Van Helden remix' which is a serious house/techno track. the bass line is seriously heavy on this track and is the obvious main attraction of this remix. there are also some warped sounds also thrown in to even things out. this is a full vocal remix. altogether this is not his best remix neither is it not his worst but it is unquestionably a very interesting remix indeed. the last remix 'Felix Da Housecat's Club Mix', out of the 3, is my least favourite. like the other remixes, a steady bass line is present throughout the song. however at times the remix can only be described as utter chaos. the remix isn't bad though...just a little unusual. techno riffs are repeated throughout and only a portion of the vocals is repeated and distorted . there are hardly any vocals on this remix. this remix is not recommended for the faint hearted. serious techno fans can truly appreciate this remix though. 'toxic' is an excellent song and the remixes are all good in their own right. some of these remixes though, i'm not quite sure will be everybody's cup of tea, but to all you techno frreaks out there..this is something you should seriously consider adding to your collection whether or not you like Britney Spears.

"Tsicavo" is the follow up to Braintree's first full length release, "fabricate." It is a darker and grittier rock record filled with great hooks. Fans of Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Tamahawk, Audioslave, At the Drive-In, and even Tool would enjoy this album. This CD also contains a data portion that, when when put into your computer, allows you to access three videos by Braintree, and five MP3's from other Toxic Bag artists.

5 out of 5 stars Great new darker and rawer approach.......2006-08-03

The new full length album by Braintree brings us to a darker and more vulnerable world of unemployment, the disolusionment of the wroking force, and the overwhelming apathy of the enhabitants living in the (not-so) ficticious metropolis waste land called "Tsicavo."
This album is so much more aggressive and gritty than Braintree's first record, "fabricate." Yet anyone who liked "fabricate" will also love this album.
Just as it's predicessor, "Tsicavo" is filled with great hooks and well orchestrated guitar work.
Definately a great buy for fans of Foo Fighters, Veruca Salt, At the Drive-In, fugazi.
