Back to the era of the "Girl Groups".......2002-08-21

I was in junior high school, just starting to get serious about girls, dancing, etc. when the Girl Group sound hit. Suddenly it seemed like the charts were filled with this genre of music, and we kids loved it. I guess Phil Spector was the genius behind the sound, but his techniques spawned many hit songs by various artists. "Can I Get to Know You Better" sounds like it could have come out in 1963 or 1964 and fit right in. The sound production isn't quite up to Phil Spector's "wall of sound", but it nicely complements the vocal talents of these three girl singers. I enjoy every song on this CD, and the music really does take me back to that time when the pace of life was somewhat slower and kids tried to keep up with the newest dance steps, etc. If you enjoy Leslie Gore or the Shangri-La's or any of the other girl artists of that era, you should buy this CD.
