About the Artist
Tiller Paul formed in September of 1998 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. For 2 years, they played a variety of venues, including local college bars, fraternity and sorority parties and the Cincinnati bar scene. In Ohio, they drew their audience from a wide range of student groups, and accumulated a regular following that consistently packed the local Oxford bars.

They have since relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC and plan to play the Southeastern college circuit beginning in the fall of 2000.

Flicker is Tiller Paul's debut album. It showcases the group's strong lyric-writing and vocal harmonies. Recorded in just 4 days in the summer of 1999, the record foreshadows that great things are ahead for this budding rock group.

Album Description

"Where Do We Go From Here" explodes through what was and races toward what's to come. Five years, four #1 radio singles, and multiple awards later Pillar launches their first studio recording in two years. An artistic sonic boom provides an unnerving twist to the melodic depth and raw power of the never-back-down lyrics. Features the single, "Bring Me Down."

5 out of 5 stars EVERYBODY WITH YOUR FIST RAISED HIGH, LET ME HEAR YOUR BATTLECRY TONIGHT!!!.......2007-03-30

This is my favorite purchase of the last few years. This album doesn't get old with me. It is great hard rock from beginning to end, and it's definitely Pillar's best work. I also have Fireproof and The Reckoning, and I love those albums, but this collection of songs is on another level of greatness. Perfect hard rock with a great message.
All rock fans should own this cd.

5 out of 5 stars UNBELEIVABLE.......2007-03-30

I am about to buy this CD, but first i must say this-
THESE GUYS ROCK, They have a great mix of Metal/Rap/Hard Rock as a band total. I dont like rap, or Screamin' bloody murder kind of music so much, but the way they entwine it into their music just works! The album before this (Fireproof) was more rap than rock. If you are interested in "Pillar" albums, this is probabaly their best-( unless they ,make better ones in the future) For you metal/rappers out there- get "Fireproof" Daniel E (age 15)

4 out of 5 stars Straight-Ahead Hard Rock.......2007-03-25

This is the first Pillar album that I've ever purchased. In fact, whenever I bought it, I had never even heard of them or any of their songs. I just happened to be in a Christian bookstore buying an old Petra album and decided that I'd "modernize" my Christian rock catalogue. "Where Do We Go From Here" turned out to be a perfect choice. I was very surprised at the musicianship of this band. I was also surprised at how heavy they actually are. There music is somewhere along the lines of groups like Saliva, Disturbed, or even P.O.D. (although there isn't quite as much rap on this album). Although sticklers of the "Jesus Quota" will not like what they hear on this album, Pillar's music is nonetheless uplifting and, more importantly for a father of a five-year-old, clean. Even though I'm a Christian (Catholic if you want to get technical), I enjoy my rock music. The only problem is that bands like Velvet Revolver can't be and shouldn't be played around youngsters. Pillar gives me my rock outlet without having to cover my daughter's ears all of the time.

The best song on this album in my opinion is "Frontline." It has an anthemic, shake-your-fist attitude to it. Other standouts include "Hypnotized," "Aftershock," and "Bring Me Down." The entire album rocks very hard excepting "Rewind," which slows thing down a bit. Still, this is a wonderful album to have in your collection whether or not you're a Christian. I love my old Petra, Whiteheart, and PFR albums, but Pillar has secured their own spot in my Christian music rotation with "Where Do We Go From Here."

Highly recommended.

This is probably my favorite new album of the year. The talent and breadth of the band is astounding, and each time I listen to their music, I love it more than the last time through.
Particularly notable are:

Praise and Adore (a thoughtful and worshipful song)
Endless Day (very catchy tune)
Summer Song (Probably my new favorite love song)
Tale of the Dragon's Defeat (these lyrics will give you goose bumps)

The strings on the opener and closer of the album are gorgeous.

Highly recommended.

Album Description

Dishonesty, lies and brokenness are demolished by truth, love and boldness in the debut release from Flicker's female-fronted rock band Fireflight. With The Healing of Harms, a brash display of raw energy colliding with a beauty that heals, melodic vocals soar like a shining hope. Produced by the legendary Skidd Mills (Sister Hazel, Saliva, Skillet).

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Raw, Stylish, Beauty - Rocks!.......2007-03-16

This album has great sound and smart lyrics - a combination not always found in the music industry - and themes of redemption ("healing of harms"), truth, yearning, love, and choice. These themes add beauty to the at times hard and raw sound. I've found other hard rock Christian bands do not always have a redemptive chord that differs from pop culture or Punk/DYI - this beauty makes the band stand out. The track titles are arranged as a story, starting with "Serenity" and "You Decide" and ending with "Action" - a call to action. Smart! What's more, this album is written and performed with heart. I like their style - this band rocks!

5 out of 5 stars Highly recommended!.......2007-03-06

This CD is a rocker who loves Jesus' dream! The heart filled lyrics and the catchy, driven music are truly a great combination! I really look forward to hearing more from this artist in the future!

5 out of 5 stars downright good.......2006-12-28

Many times I feel sorry for bands that get the "christian rock" label, for fear that their music gets left behind with todays mainstream rock. They should have more of a chance to compete with the other mainstream bands. I am beginning to find more and more "Christian rock" bands with better musical skills than the overplayed radio tracks we hear everyday. I give props to those bands who stay true to themselves without getting caught in the marketing aspect of music. I don't care who believes in what,...what I do care about is finding good rock bands with fresh sounds and melodies. This CD could easily have many radio worthy hard rock tracks. A solid pick for any rock fan!

5 out of 5 stars 'WOW'.......2006-12-15

There's only one thing wrong with this cd, it's too short(around 36 minutes). Other than that it's awesome. These guys and gals rock! Very fresh and heavy beats, with great lyrics. One of the best new acts of the year without question.

Was skeptical about this record at first, but these guys are solid. Perfect for late night drives or sitting around on a Sunday. Fans of Keane or The Fray will dig this album.

4 out of 5 stars Beautiful Harmonies.......2007-04-27

Nice, fresh offering from this new group. I'm only awarding 4 stars because of the 30 minute length, but then again the CD seems to be priced accordingly.

5 out of 5 stars until june is a great up and coming band.......2007-04-20

a great debut cd from a talented L.A. based band. these guys write incredible songs, great harmonies, good instrumentation...and very original compared to what else is out there these days. take a listen and you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Finally a Band that Has It's Own Style!.......2007-04-18

When I heard the songs I realized that Until June is in a class of its own. No style copycats here. So many bands sound alike these days. The vocals and the arrangements on this cd are unique. The soulful emotion and delivery of the lyrics could even be described as moving. I didn't find even one song on the whole cd that I didn't like.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing and Beautiful.......2007-04-18

Inspired and lush this album takes piano driven rock to new levels. The CP70 is a welcome addition to drive home the beauty of the melodies. Personally I am very impressed with the song writing and content. I hear joy and pain in the lyrics and croon of the singers harmonies. This album is essential listening for any one who likes melodic and poppy song writing. Metalheads be warned!

Album Description

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars "Slow Dance Songs by Pillar" - is the better title of this disappointing cd!!.......2006-10-31

Please, save your money and don't buy this piece of garbage. This cd is a joke. I really wanted to like this album because I like Pillar A LOT. To give it a fair trial, I have listened to it about 7 times now and I find myself skipping past most of the songs because they are so booooooooooooooooooooooooring. The "songs" are totally void of any good lyrics, solid Christian reference or musical quality. Who wrote these songs? One of the band members' kids?

Rather, buy "Fireproof" which is an all-out kick-butt album with plenty of hooks and emotion, and great lyrics. That album's follow-up "Where Do We Go From Here" was a little lower quality but still a very good album. "Reckoning" however, a deplorable release, is another HUGE step in the WRONG direction. Another reviewer had the same observations as me, but I will be a bit more honest. There is one great song, "Crossfire". "Everything" and "Reckoning" are pretty good but that does not make an album. The songs are just too darn slooooooooooow and filled with repetative cliche lyrics.

"Angel In Disguise" is another "Janie's Got A Gun" - clone song and who cares to hear that topic beat to death again? This song just flat out sucks and makes you want your money back. Another, "Chasing Shadows At Midnight" should have been called "Chasing A Good Musical Idea At Midnight" Come on guys, you can do better than this!!!

5 out of 5 stars PILLAR IS BACK BABY!.......2006-10-12

PILLAR IS BACK BABY!!!
This cd is incredible!! I have listened to this for over 2 months as I got the stream earlier, and this will go down as 1 of if not the best christian rock cd of 2006. Buy this, even if you hate pillar, you will be fan for life after this cd, it's so diverse in every song, one slow, one fast, one super hard, one pop, you name it. BUY THIS CD!!

3 out of 5 stars A Listenable Step Backwards From Where Do We Go From Here.......2006-10-06

Where Do We Go From Here? Apparently backwards.

The Reckoning is a bit above average compared to some of the more generic Nu Metal plaguing the Rock radio airways these days, but The Reckoning is far below the high standard that Pillar set with their 2004 release Where Do We Go From Here.

Gone are song after song of unique sounding, head bobbin', melodic, kick-ass, hard rock gems like Frontline, Dirty Little Secret, Underneath It All and Bring Me Down. Gone are standout tracks with intricate beats, intricate guitarwork and anthem choruses that you can sing along to.

In are songs where some you can't even tell the track has changed, the guitarwork is mediocre, and they mostly sound like all the other Nu Metal on the radio.

Pillar does indeed put together a listenable 13 songs. But "listenable" versus their last release's "rockin'" classification is a downgrade. Rob Beckley's singing in is mostly clear on The Reckoning and you can understand almost every word. However, in a shift from the last release, Rob uses an angry growl redundantly on the first 5 songs that seems really out of place.

The Reckoning is just absent of a really standout track, while Where Do We Go From Here was full of them. So all in all, The Reckoning is a disappointment for me...an average effort.

If you're new to Pillar, be sure to pick up Where Do We Go From Here with (or instead of) The Reckoning. Where Do We Go From Here Pillar fans will probably see what I mean; devoted fans will just give me a NO vote.

Album Description

A Celtic punk band from the working class south side of Chicago, this band of brothers and a bagpipe player stirred things into a circle pit frenzy with their debut release "Knuckles Up". After a packed year of non-stop touring and shows with the likes of Flogging Molly, 7 Seconds and The Business, Flatfoot is set to release their spirited follow-up "Jungle of the Midwest Sea". In what the band describes as a "more mature sound...more grown-up" the band manages to grow up without leaving their roots behind with songs like "Loaded Gun", "Warriors" and "Hoity Toity".

"Their messages are simple, their passion is without question and their zest for life is contagious. The party is waiting and Flatfoot 56 are inviting you..." -InFuzemag.com

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent album and band.......2007-07-02

Both of the Flatfoot 56 albums I have remind me of Blitz, except with bagpipes. If you like Blitz, i.e. Voice of a Generation era, you will like this, guaranteed. Walls of loud guitars blasting away, back-up vocals like the old days of hardcore music, and then add bagpipes. You simply can't go wrong.

The non-apologetic messages about the love of Christ, is refreshing too.
Highly recommend both albums.

5 out of 5 stars The CD that truly got me into rock music...........2007-06-21

Yep. That's the truth. Because of this album,I bought Knuckles Up and Fiends (I gave both 5 stars). I will always respect Flatfoot 56 and this album. Anyway....back to the review! They toned down the wildness that was seen in their previous album.Which is good. Don't worry, these guys still have a 'party-like-there's-no-tomorrow' style in their songs, but the songs are a little more mature than Knuckles Up and Skillet. This is still a wonderful, punk rock (or what I like to call 56...speed rock) album. 'City On a Hill' and 'Jungle of the Midwest Sea' are the some of the best in this CD. Now let's do a favor for this indie rock band, and buy this album.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A great album!!!.......2007-02-17

I must say, this album is one of the best cds I own. I listen to a lot of Christian rock, and this is one of the softest bands I listen to. Think Relient K's newer stuff, but slightly softer. This album is very well written, and they are great musicians. I can listen to this whole cd and love every second of it. My favorites would have to be "The Real" (of course. I love the "woah" in the chorus. It is a song that has some great guitar melodies, and a reassuring message that God IS there.) My other favorites are "Time" and "Perfect Chemistry" All in all, this album is VERY well done and you should most definately check it out. You will not be sorry. (Matt Theissen himself said it makes him a happy camper, that has to give it some credibility, right?) Of course it does!!!

Jesus loves you!

4 out of 5 stars Solid Start and Promising Band.......2007-01-15

I didn't expect to much when I previewed this cd in my local christian bookstore. Yeah, the songs were catchy and the lead singer's voice sounded good, but I still wasn't sold. Until I returned a few weeks later because I couldn't get the beat of "the real" out of my head. I purchased the cd and was amazed at the band's sound and emotion.

To rate the album a 4 out of 5 was just, because I believe only to the fact that nevertheless has some great room to grow and build. Now I can't wait till their next release.

This cd is great for those who like:
Sanctus Real, Relient K, Jimmy Eat World, and Mainstay

Give them a listen!

5 out of 5 stars Best Debut in Years.......2006-12-16

WOW! If you don't buy this CD, it will be the mistake of the year. For anyone who likes good rock music--this CD is for you. The great plus on this CD is that these guys have great hearts, and you can hear their hearts in every lyric on this album. The message is great, the guys are great, and it's packaged in one of this years seemingly perfect CDs. Buy it fast!

5 out of 5 stars Bone-A-Fide.......2006-12-19

T-Bone is easily the best rapper on the HHH scene, and arguably one of the better rappers in the rap game period. Bone-A-Fide shows T-Bone at his best on every level, still bangin' his West Coast beats and rippin' it lyrically. The collabs with Mack 10 and Chino XL fit surprisingly well into the album. While T-Bone has never been the guy to slather Jesus all up in his rhymes, he only bares his soul and purpose on select tracks which cause some to wonder if he's not just "positive rap."

Best cuts: Let That Thing Go, Hard Streets, Can I Live, A Few Good Men.

5 out of 5 stars Hot hot hot.......2006-10-05

This CD is so tight thank God he ain't trying to be all preache' and self righteous and perfect like he got it all together like some Christian rappers do. T bone is trying to reach all people everywhere. He ain't just makin tracks for the christians but for everyone. And his message is still JESUS CHRIST he's just not hitting you over the head with it T bones a bone a fide rapper the best christian rapper and can challenge for best rapper period.

2 out of 5 stars A dissapointment.......2006-05-25

T-bone really shocked me on this cd being as though much of the material on here sounds a little too mainstream. T-bone is still an awesome rapper but here, He seems like he's trying to win radio airplay being as he doesn't really talk about Jesus as much as before... The beats aren't really that great on here neither. Although there a few effective songs on here [''A few good men'', ''Shake ya body'', And ''You can't win''], The album runs out of steam before the final track comes. The only interesting things about this album are really the guest spots by Mack 10 and Chino XL. While this is not a totally wack effort, It definintely needs some work. I truly hope the next album from T-bone is much better than this one. Hope the review helped. Be blessed.

3 out of 5 stars Too much ME in this CD.......2006-05-03

Ok, I admit I just started liking T-Bone when I heard him rapping in The Fighting Temptations movie. The beats on this CD are tight and it's the type of music that would go great at a gospel skate, but I thought gospel rap, like all other gospel music was supposed to, well....., talk about the gospel. It seems like in a lot of the songs, T-Bone is glorifying himself rather than glorifying God by saying that other rappers can't rap as good as him and that he has all this bling bling. I think that's the wrong message to be sending out to our youth, because it portrays the same covetous and prideful messages as the secular rappers. And why does he look so much like a thug on the back of his CD cover? Are those gang signs he's throwing up? I'm pretty sure they're not but whatever happened to Christians being wise as serpents and harmless as doves? If T-Bone is really trying to reach those that are on the streets with his music, how can you do that if you don't have the main ingredient that you need in order to reach them? Namely, The Gospel. It's kind of like trying to bake a cake without flour.

Product Description

Second album from Jennifer Parkin and the follow-up to her succesful debut "Debris".

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of my most played cds.......2006-08-09

I am new to Ayria's music. I first heard her music through the internet and was hooked. It is a rarity in the EBM genre to see a woman take front and center stage which is what Jennifer Parkin does here with Ayria. "Flicker" is the second album from Ayria. Her music is a diverse mix of EBM, electro, synthpop, and electro-clash. "Flicker" kicks off with the highly energetic "It's Been Fun". "Counterblow" slows down a bit but not too much. It is a dark, electro track. Very cool track. The stand out track here on the cd is the irresistably catchy "My Revenge On the World". It would be hard not to fall in love with this song. Jennifer successfully combines aggressive electro beats with addictive pop hooks and creates one of the catchiest songs ever heard in electronic music. I find myself constantly singing along to the song every time I listen to it. I think Jennifer's strength is the uptempo songs. I didn't think the slower tracks were all that hot. They weren't terrible but they lack the energy that made me love "It's Been Fun" and "My Revenge On the World". Neverthless "Flicker" is a lot of fun to listen to. It certainly made me a fan out of Ayria.

5 out of 5 stars Better Than "Debris"!.......2006-05-16

I loved Ayria's first album, "Debris", but "Flicker" shows tremendous growth and confidence in Jennifer Parkin's song-writing, composition and performance. The sound is less 80's pop and much more anthemic and at times militaristic (ie. "My Revenge On The World" and "Infiltrating My Way Through The System"). The lyrics are also more personal, yet still fun and intelligent without being angst-ridden nor pretentious. I can't wait for her next album.

5 out of 5 stars It's been fun.......2006-03-26

I gotta love MySpace. That site has been exposing me to a lot of great artists/bands I would not have heard of had I not signed up with the social networking site. Another great artist I have discovered is Ayria (aka Jennifer Parkin, formerly of Epsilon Minus). "Flicker" is the second full length cd by Ayria. It is a diverse mix of EBM, industrial, electroclash, and trip hop. "It's Been Fun" kicks off the cd with its bouncy electro beats. "Counterblow" is a killer follow up. The throbbing beats and Jennifer's seductive vocals. The entire cd is infectiously catchy. It is hard not to have any of these songs stuck in your head. I especially love the irresistable "My Revenge On the World". It is a fun, catchy song to dance to. The best songs on the cd are the ones that I can dance to like "It's Been Fun" and "My Revenge On the World" but I also dug the slower, downtempo tracks like "Pink Dress" and "Be Me". "Flicker" is a fun album overall. It isn't angst ridden like a lot of industrial cds or as emotional as most EBM cds. "Flicker" somewhere falls inbetween the two genres and it works for Jennifer Parkins. I immensely enjoyed "Flicker".
