a lyrical musical treat.......2004-05-30

I used to follow this band around in the late '90s as they played various bars and clubs in Southern California because I liked their selection of cover tunes. Then I found myself in my car humming a song they played. When I asked Brian, their guitarist, what song it was, he said "That's 'Pamela'. We wrote it." Back then this debut CD hadn't even been recorded yet. I had to wait a year before it came out, and by then I knew songs like Glass Ceiling, World Go By, and Laughing At the Rain by heart. I bought and gave copies to all my family and many friends.

I remember the first times they played Not Yet and Love Again and felt privileged to hear songs the world didn't know yet (and sadly still doesn't.) I felt chills down my spine hearing Kelly belt out the bridge in You're the River on this CD.

Even today, five years later, I marvel at the subtle genius in the lyrics. "Tell me where you are, where you've been, where you're goin', and why you're there instead." from Love Again. Or "Making love, will I live, without testing positive" from World Go By. Then there's "...you pontificate, on all the people you've come to hate, and here I'm sitting at 3AM, Aware at last that I'm one of them."

I just saw them play live again recently, back in a bar doing covers. But you can still discern one of their original tunes from their superb music and insightful lyrics. The fact that this band isn't all over the radio is surely a condemnation of today's music idustry. It's the best music you haven't heard (yet!)

DELIVER THE GOODS.......2001-03-05

Vesica Pisces is a good rocking cd. Kelly Fitzgerald gutsy vocals, which sound a little like Melissa Etheridge, deliver the goods especially on songs like "Love Again" and "Mama's Got The Blinders On". Its nice hear a female singer not whining. The band equals that power with solid guitar work and drumming. Every song on this cd is good. If you like straight timeless Rock like early Rod Stewart and Heart, this one's for you.

Each song is crafted not just written. Excellent guitar work and powerful female vocals. One of the best recordings I have ever heard...ever!

Songs are very well written. Band is very tight. The whole package is very impressive. A must for your CD collection.

The Whole CD--HALF WAY TO NAKED.......2004-09-12

A friend of mine turned me on to the CD and I must say I am "very impresed". I plan on seeing the group on Sept. 25th in Laguna Beach and I am excited about going. This is a group that will go far in the future. Keep up the "GOOD MUSIC".

Killer album!.......2003-06-08

Hey, this CD is GREAT! There are some awesome tracks on it and I highly recommend it to any Beatles, Led Zep, or Sheryl Crow fans out there. A definite shining star in the midst of all the dark clouds that encompass the music charts today. Killer album. Enough to make any musician jealous. Can't wait for the next one!

Great CD.......2003-06-04

Most CD's are bought for 1 or 2 good songs. If you buy this one, you'll be rewarded with 15 great tunes (don't miss the hidden track). In and Out of Love will have you toe-tapping and wanting to dance, while Settlesville tells a tale that we've all lived sometime in our lives. The title track, Halfway to Naked is also a song everyone can relate to about being vulnerable. You'll find yourself singing along to "Single," whether you are or not! This band is going to be big, I tell ya.

This is contrived pop music for people too old for the hard stuff, but not yet old enough to feel comfortable listening to show tunes.

Complex Band.......2003-05-20

Vesica Pisces 1st CD was great, but 1/2 Way to Naked is incredible. Talk about complicated guitar rifs, melodies and breaks, woven into a rich full sound. You can hear producer Jack Douglas's (John Lennon, Aerosmith)work all through this. Top female lead vocals along with Jimmy Page depth lead guitar. What a treat.
"No Easy Way Out" is powerful, "Single" will be all over the radio and "In and Out of Love" is Santana meets Natalie Merchant, meets the best of LA.

What a diverse, complex CD.
