About Judy Pancoast
Her kid-lovin personality shines through in everything she does. . .kids cant wait to meet her, and parents have been known to refer to her as a Mick Jagger for kids because their tykes are so excited at her concerts. Shes Judy Pancoast, and shes the Real Thing in kids performers. Judy is that singular childrens artist who can walk into a room full of children who dont know her, and immediately connect with them in an honest and genuine way. Shes a mother of two, a talented musician with a Bachelors Degree in Music, and a certified elementary school teacher with a Masters degree in Reading. And though children dont know all that, shes also got the qualities they really care about, that certain Judy-ness that cant be put into words.
Judy regularly performs at fairs, festivals and community events throughout the United States. She is also an especially popular performer and teacher in elementary schools during the academic year. Her special knowledge of children, literacy, and learning have helped her to craft a presentation that is both fun for children and well appreciated by parents and educators alike. In addition to her KidPop! family concert, she offers two innovative educational programs for kids. These include a Literacy Through Music Creative Songwriting Workshop and a musical program about conflict resolution. Judy is also increasingly popular on the lecture circuit for schools, parent groups and educational conferences.
Judy Pancoast has often been recognized by parents and educators for her songwriting abilities and her exceptional rapport with children. She has received the Parent's Choice Award for her hit recording titled, Candy, and many community service awards.
More importantly to Judy, however, is the fact that kids have stepped up and shown they love her music too! She is honored to announce that her work was recently reviewed by a diverse panel of children in classrooms around the world through a program coordinated by the Children's Music Web. These kids carefully studied the work of more than 200 children's music recording artists, including some of the biggest names in the business, and after tallying the results, they honored Judy Pancoast with the "Best Song for Children" award for her hit song "Swimming in Jello."
Product Description
Judy Pancoast Looks Through the Eyes of a Kid! Through the Eyes of a Kid ! is the fourth album by childrens singer-songwriter Judy Pancoast, and her most fun and varied release to date. Featuring ten new original songs, including her most requested concert tune, The Potty Dance, Through the Eyes of A Kid will have your children (and you!) instantly dancing and singing along. Styles range from Boogie Woogie (The Good Times Goose Bumps Motel) to Ballad (I Dreamed of Angels), Country (The Only Bug at the Rodeo) to Gospel (Are We There Yet?) with huge dollops of pure pop in-between.
Pancoast has said that her musical goal is to fill the void in childrens music between Barney and Britney. This recording bursts with sophisticated pop beats and arrangements akin to anything one would hear on Top 40 radio today. But the lyrics are family friendly and age appropriate. Her creative original songs dont talk down to kids; rather, they talk up from a kids perspective. For example, you might expect that a childrens song about a visit to the doctors office for a shot would be calm and reassuring. Not Pancoasts version! From her kids-eye-view description of the check-up, to the impassioned choral response No! No! No!, Pancoast perfectly describes one of the most intensely dramatic scenes of childhood through the eyes of a kid. And this is the key to her success in reaching children. They identify with her as she identifies with them, and their common experiences are set to music thats fun and cool.
Pancoast has been a favorite family entertainer in the United States for a few years now, and her concerts are famous for the way she connects with kids in her own inimitable way. Through the Eyes of a Kid captures that certain Judy-ness and brings it home to your children so they can enjoy it every day. If youve enjoyed Pancoasts previous recordings, you and your family are sure to love Through the Eyes of a Kid as much for its creativity and style as for its just plain fun entertainment value. Its sure to be the most requested CD on your home and car entertainment system this summer!
