About the Artist
About Judy Pancoast

Her kid-lovin’ personality shines through in everything she does. . .kids can’t wait to meet her, and parents have been known to refer to her as “a Mick Jagger for kids” because their tykes are so excited at her concerts. She’s Judy Pancoast, and she’s the “Real Thing” in kids’ performers. Judy is that singular children’s artist who can walk into a room full of children who don’t know her, and immediately connect with them in an honest and genuine way. She’s a mother of two, a talented musician with a Bachelors Degree in Music, and a certified elementary school teacher with a Masters degree in Reading. And though children don’t know all that, she’s also got the qualities they really care about, that certain “Judy-ness” that can’t be put into words.

Judy regularly performs at fairs, festivals and community events throughout the United States. She is also an especially popular performer and teacher in elementary schools during the academic year. Her special knowledge of children, literacy, and learning have helped her to craft a presentation that is both fun for children and well appreciated by parents and educators alike. In addition to her KidPop! family concert, she offers two innovative educational programs for kids. These include a Literacy Through Music Creative Songwriting Workshop and a musical program about conflict resolution. Judy is also increasingly popular on the lecture circuit for schools, parent groups and educational conferences.

Judy Pancoast has often been recognized by parents and educators for her songwriting abilities and her exceptional rapport with children. She has received the Parent's Choice Award for her hit recording titled, Candy, and many community service awards.

More importantly to Judy, however, is the fact that kids have stepped up and shown they love her music too! She is honored to announce that her work was recently reviewed by a diverse panel of children in classrooms around the world through a program coordinated by the Children's Music Web. These kids carefully studied the work of more than 200 children's music recording artists, including some of the biggest names in the business, and after tallying the results, they honored Judy Pancoast with the "Best Song for Children" award for her hit song "Swimming in Jello."

Product Description
Judy Pancoast Looks Through the Eyes of a Kid! Through the Eyes of a Kid ! is the fourth album by children’s singer-songwriter Judy Pancoast, and her most fun and varied release to date. Featuring ten new original songs, including her most requested concert tune, “The Potty Dance,” Through the Eyes of A Kid will have your children (and you!) instantly dancing and singing along. Styles range from Boogie Woogie (“The Good Times Goose Bumps Motel”) to Ballad (“I Dreamed of Angels”), Country (“The Only Bug at the Rodeo”) to Gospel (“Are We There Yet?) with huge dollops of pure pop in-between.

Pancoast has said that her musical goal is to fill the void in children’s music “between Barney and Britney.” This recording bursts with sophisticated pop beats and arrangements akin to anything one would hear on Top 40 radio today. But the lyrics are family friendly and age appropriate. Her creative original songs don’t “talk down” to kids; rather, they “talk up” from a kid’s perspective. For example, you might expect that a children’s song about a visit to the doctor’s office for a shot would be calm and reassuring. Not Pancoast’s version! From her kid’s-eye-view description of the check-up, to the impassioned choral response “No! No! No!”, Pancoast perfectly describes one of the most intensely dramatic scenes of childhood “through the eyes of a kid.” And this is the key to her success in reaching children. They identify with her as she identifies with them, and their common experiences are set to music that’s fun and “cool.”

Pancoast has been a favorite family entertainer in the United States for a few years now, and her concerts are famous for the way she connects with kids in her own inimitable way. Through the Eyes of a Kid captures that certain “Judy-ness” and brings it home to your children so they can enjoy it every day. If you’ve enjoyed Pancoast’s previous recordings, you and your family are sure to love Through the Eyes of a Kid as much for it’s creativity and style as for it’s just plain fun entertainment value. It’s sure to be the most requested CD on your home and car entertainment system this summer!

I have a promise! I Caleb Michael "hoddiebuggs" Twiggs will love through the eyes of a kid! it's great!

5 out of 5 stars You have got to purchase this..................2002-02-16

I purchased "Through the Eyes of a Kid" after I saw her performance and was hooked! This is one superior performer that gives it her all in a show and on the tape/CD. Adults will not be immune either to the music as I find myself dancing with my children to all the songs. "Gotta Get a Shot" is such a great one as is "Monkey Girl". Actually, I could go on and on because all the songs are excellent. I strongly suggest that this is a "have to have" music selection.

5 out of 5 stars Judy Pancoast Does it Again!.......2000-12-07

I have been a fan of Judy Pancoast since her first tape/cd came out "KidPop!" and now with her third released I must say that she has gotten better and better, this going above and beyond for children's pop music. From her silly song "Potty Dance" which won her best children's song of the year online (she has won this 2 years in a row, last year for "swimming in jello") to her serious song "Walk Away" to all the ones in between that all have their meanings to them that she gets across to children of all ages eliquently. All children should be blessed enough to be brought up in a home that embraces Judy Pancoast and KidPop-I know that mine does, it's a very inexpensive way to bring happiness to your home. Believe me, the children in my home are better people because of this woman.

5 out of 5 stars Kid pleaser (moms like it, too!).......2000-10-21

As a mom, I am constantly looking for good, fun popular music for my seven-year-old and nine-year-old because they love to sing. Unfortunately, most of what's out there is too adult. I am sure I'm not the only mom who does not want her girls belting out ballads about men that left and other betrayals. Judy's CD is perfect! My kids love the catchy words and the variety of musical styles. They learned all the words immediately, and enjoy singing and performing them for their friends. The songs are fun, interesting, and talk about their world and their concerns. My daughters can't wait for Judy's next release.

5 out of 5 stars Judy Rocks!.......2000-09-07

Kidpop is fun music for kids. This album is great because it has a variety of music that's perfect for dancing and singing. Even adults can have fun singing along! If you've never heard Judy's songs before, this is a must listen to cd. And if you already know and love Kidpop, you won't be disappointed with her newest. I love it, and so will you.
