LVGMC began on August 9, 1994 when 10 men gathered to form the Lehigh Valley Gay Men’s Chorus. Under the direction of Dr JA Kawarsky, LVGMC continues to push the envelope in The Valley. From our organization of a candlelight vigil in honor of Matthew Shepard, appearances at Lucent Technologies, the first all gay group to perform at MayFair Arts festival, performances at First Night Bethlehem Celebration, F.A.C.T. (Fighting AIDS Continuously Together) Summer Games, local church services, to our recent performance of our own "Alec Baldwin Doesn't Love Me", in San Jose, CA, LVGMC is making a difference in Lehigh Valley and around the US, musically and socially.
LVGMC has performed with Opera Diva Marilyn Horne, the Moravian Wind Ensemble, ACCO (a Chorus Celebrating Women, the New Jersey Gay Men’s Chorus, the Chamber Choir of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC, and Another Octave (a Connecticut Women's Chorus). A special Judy Garland birthday party concert was held in June of 2000 with New York City's Tommy Femia bringing his highly acclaimed 'Judy' to the Lehigh Valley. LVGMC also recently performed at GALA 2000 Music Festival, San Jose CA. along with 6000+ other GALA members.

ALEC BALDWIN Doesn't Love Me is a musical exploration of what it means to be slightly out of step with the world around you. Based on the writings of humorist Michael Thomas Ford, it's the story of one man as he struggles to figure out what it is that makes him different from the people around him, searches for a community where he belongs, and ultimately learns that fitting in really means being willing to be himself. Reflecting both the pain and joy that come from following your heart, it is a celebration of the wonderful and more than slightly peculiar queer experience of which we are all a part.
Author Michael Thomas Ford is the Lambda Literary Award-winning author of numerous books, including the essay collections It's Not Mean If It's True, That's Mr. Faggot to You, and Alec Baldwin Doesn't Love Me. His monthly column, My Queer Life, appears in more than two dozen newspapers, and he is a contributing writer to Instinct magazine.
All this is put to a wonderful musical setting by Dr JA Kawarsky who has had several pieces recorded and performed through out the country including Prayers for Bobby which was performed by LVGMC 2 years ago. Dr. Kawarsky is in his 3rd year as the Artistic Director of LVGMC.
Plus much much more with additional songs as the lush Duke Ellington's Mood Indigo and Fathers and Sons from the musical Working.

A great disc, but I'm a little biased :-).......2001-08-10
The bias I allude to in the title is that I performed a number of the songs on this disc with the Lehigh Valley Gay Men's Chorus at the GALA Festival 2000. I had a lot of fun doing it. I had no part in the making of this disc, but I strongly recommend it.
