About the Artist
Award-winning children’s entertainer Judy Pancoast is that singular artist who can walk into a room full of children and immediately "connect" with them in an honest way. Kids can’t wait to meet her and parents appreciate her sincere approach to bringing happiness to children through music.

Pancoast’s vocal style has often been compared to that of the late Karen Carpenter; and it was, in fact, Carpenter whose records Judy listened to the most during her formative years in the 1970’s. Having been a solo performing artist and the leader of several popular bands as well as a successful radio announcer for many years, Judy decided to become an elementary school teacher following the birth of her two children. It was then that the natural confluence of her musical ability, her love for children and her sense of humor resulted in KidPop!: original, upbeat and positive recordings and concerts for children in Pancoast’s inimitable style.

Since creating KidPop! in 1996, Pancoast has toured across the USA several times and produced four popular collections of her songs. She won the coveted Children’s Music Web "Best Song for Young Children" awards twice…in 1999 for her song "Swimming in Jello," and again in 2000 for "The Potty Dance." Her 1998 recording KidPop! Candy won a Parent’s Choice award and her 2002 CD KidPop! (a compilation of two previously released cassette recordings) has been endorsed by the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media. KidPop! Koo-Koo!will be under consideration for a Grammy Award by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

New Hampshire Commissioner of Education Nicholas Donohue called Pancoast "A state treasure," and the past president of the NH Association for the Education of Young Children said, "She’s brought happiness to more children than anyone else from New Hampshire."

Pancoast lives in New Hampshire with her husband, Philip and daughters Emma (14) and Louisa (9). She is active in supporting many organizations dedicated to helping children, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the Pediatric Aids Foundation.

"My mission is to let kids be kids," says Pancoast. " When else in our lives can we have such unabashed, crazy spirit? If I’m doing my job right, the kids are up and dancing!"

Product Description
What has one big eyeball and stinky feet, is a little bit of Elvis, afraid of SHARKS and loves to hang around making sand castles? It’s Judy Pancoast’s newest CD, KidPop!® Koo Koo!

Pancoast’s fifth studio recording has 12 brand new tunes that cement her reputation as one of the most creative, original, humorous and child-centered writers of children’s music working today. Families who have been to Pancoast’s live concerts appreciate her delightful personality and down-to-earth way with children, and this spirit shines most brightly on "Koo Koo."

Her previous recordings have won several awards, including the coveted Parent’s Choice Award. The CD KidPop!® was endorsed by the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media and her songs have twice been named "Best Song for Young Children" by the Children’s Music Web.

The twelve fresh songs on KidPop!® Koo Koo! came to Pancoast in a variety of interesting ways. The New Hampshire chapter of The National Association for the Education of Young Children commissioned her to write the theme song for their annual "Week of the Young Child" celebration, and it became "Look at Me," a celebration of kids’ accomplishments. The hilarious "One Big Eyeball" came about from a game Pancoast has played with her children since they were babies, and "Kiss Me, I’m Irish Today," was written for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in which Pancoast is always a participant.

"I don’t consider myself a "message" songwriter," says Pancoast, "But if there is a message to be found on this CD it’s that it’s much more fun to be Koo Koo than cool!"

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Judy is a one of a kind talent!.......2004-02-17

This CD offers children an opportunity to hear extremely well done songs with lyrics that they can actually understand and relate to. Musically, Judy keeps things jumping--her range is incredible, and she automatically connects with the listener. Her writing skills go right to the heart of what children of today need to hear. I highly recommend Koo-Koo as a much needed alternative to current childrens' "entertainment."

5 out of 5 stars Koo-Koo drove me koo-koo! I loved it!.......2003-11-13

Singer-songwriter Judy Pancoast has shown herself to be a true "kid at heart," and her latest CD, the absolutely wonderful "Koo Koo!" shows that she's not only an artist of considerable talent, but someone who knows how to connect with her audience in an essential, mesmerizing way. Though "Koo Koo" is marketed primarily for children, Judy's entrancing music (just try to sit still through "A Little Bit of Elvis." Can't be done!) and delightfully diversified lyrics appeal to ALL age groups. I should know--I'm 51! There are 12 great songs on this CD, and several are already becoming my favorites: "Kiss Me, I'm Irish Today;" "One Big Eyeball" (hilarious!); "Better Things to do;" the lovely "Buena Vista," and, of course, the afore-mentioned Elvis homage. For a smile, check out the "koo koo" photo of Judy's dog on the cover--she's obviously having fun! And Judy herself, in a charming photo on the back, exhudes such warmth, such joy, well, it's no wonder her songs are so "one of a kind." I can't say enough about "Koo Koo" except that you'd be koo koo not to buy it!
