My favorite of Woody Russell's first 2 CDs. He hit a home run with this one with songs spanning the gamut of subjects from dreams, life, love and wondering "What on Earth Was I thinking" (my vote for the #1 song off this CD). The Title Track - "A Thousand One Eighties" is a beautifully written love ballad full of energy and passion.

The music is a unique mix of Blues, Jazz, Funk, Country and more that creates a sound that's all Woody Russell. His style fits nicely into anyone's music collection and if you get the opportunity to witness him LIVE - do it! I have had that pleasure and his music translates well from studio to live.

I look forward to further releases with great eagerness!
