Vincent James has been playing the Tri-state club scene for fifteen years. He started out sneaking into clubs at the age of fourteen and has been playing non-stop ever since. He hooked up with producer Rich Betancourt and Purefun Records in 1999 and the result is his first release "Moments of Clarity"

The new CD was mixed in Runcorn England by Pete Coleman and features an all star cast including former Kansas violinist David Ragsdale, former Zon/Ian Hunter Keyboardist Howard Helm and Ralph Santolla (currently touring with Iced Earth.) The prog rock concept album has been compared to Yes, Kansas and Spock's Beard.

Very Refreshing!!.......2006-10-28

I have heard all over the place that this band would sound very much like Kansas. To me they sound more like the Swedish prog bands Cross and Spektrum, and maybe a little bit like late eighties Hawkwind (which I love). Their music also reminds me of late seventies Illinois band Star Castle. If you like this kind of stuff Cryptic Vision will not dissapoint you.
This is definately quality music with extremely tight keyboards, beautiful vocals and strong guitar work.
Highly recommended for all fans of the genre.

Surprisingly Good.......2005-10-21

I purchased this CD before ROSFest and have truly enjoyed it. Great melodies with super harmonies. The vocals seem to shift between Yes and Chris Squire solo vocals, layered over a more driving melody than Yes would produce. I enjoyed the CD before seeing them and now look forward to their two new releases.

Batio just raised the bar..........2005-01-12

If you like to hear musicians expand the boundaries of their instrument, you need to hear (and see) Michael Angelo Batio play guitar. Sure, his songwriting sounds just like Satriani, his solos sound like Malmsteen, and his double-guitar playing is lifted from Vai, but Batio pushes it to a whole new level with his warp-speed over/under left hand technique. To see the video clips on his website, you'd think the film was speeded up, because the way he flashes his left hand over the top of the neck to strike a note and then back under to hit the next one is so fast it looks like really bad animation. Then you go to see him play live and he does it and your jaw hits the floor! This is something totally new that any shredhead must take note of.

I can not believe this cd has almost NO reviews. This is one of the best intrumental albums of all time. If you ever wondered what Van Halen would sound instrumentally than this album is it. From start to finish this cd is a "smash the dash board - Van Halensque - adrenaline pumping - guitar action." During my first listens to this cd, would play it over and over from start to finish. Can listen to it anytime and not get tired of it. The first 4 songs are just one of the best Michael Angelo solo songs ever. This cd is a masterpiece and proves in my mind that there is no doubt that Mike Batio is the fastest shredder in the planet. Wait till you listen to these 3 best songs which are "take a look around", "avalance", & "stop complaing" those three songs alone are worth it. It is just a shame that this album is not getting the recognition such as from a "passion & warfare", "population override", and or a "surfing with the alien" type of recognition. Do yourseld a huge favor and go buy, borrow, or STEAL this cd NOW!! you will not regret it.

Simply Amazing.......2001-08-24

Another brilliant album from the master of shred guitar, Michael Angelo Batio. This cd goes off into unexplored territory, the tracks are structured much differently than than his other work. He focuses less on pushing the limit of technical mastery and more on creating a unique world of surreal sound with many layers in his compositions. It is beyond description, something you just have to hear for yourself. The effect results in a completely different feel to the music. In my opinion, no other guitarist is on the level of Michael Angelo, he is a true virtuoso. If you are a fan of guitarists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, and Steve Vai, you will be very impressed.

Michael keeps getting better............2001-05-25

This is Mike's fourth solo album so far, this time he joined forces with drummer Rob Ross to create an shredding masterpiece (with vocals), a vivid example that shred's beauty also combines taste and feeling, as always his scarying fast solos are there, along with well structured melodies and solid song constructions. Some of the songs might sound a little van halen-ish but in general this is quite a good performance.

Out of my vast CD collection there are many choices but I keep finding myself listening to Moments of Clarity. The songs are great, and the drumming is excellent. A must have for anyones collection. No matter what type of music your into you'll love this CD.

A worthwhile venture!.......2000-07-21

"Dark pop", I think that about describes it. Eclectic-yes, but you're left with a clear understanding of the mood. And you have to feel bad for Vincent's love life but I guess we all suffer now and then. Regardless of the message, Vincent delivers a stellar vocal performance and is clearly the center piece of this release. However there is also much to be said of the backing musicians who provide a solid foundation for Vincent. The rhythm parts fall naturally and bring each song full circle. A small indie release yet the sonic quality is more than satisfying. Although the overall production is somewhat plastic and over the top.

Noteworthy songs are September Again, Souvenirs, Pale and Ghosts of mine.

Amazing Album - You'll Love It.......2007-04-25

Wayna has one of the most moving voices I've ever heard. Her music is passionate and her lyrics are inspiring. While more and more artists use commercial formulas to churn out music, Wayna stays true to her heart and sets herself apart from that crowd, creating original and soulful music. Music about the hardships of life, about family, and about love. Wayna is truly one of the best talents out there.

Please, do not let this gem of an album pass you by!

Fresh sound, beautiful voice .......2006-04-22

Can't take it out of my cd player. Starting from the catchy go go sound "So long" to the soulful blues "Slums of Paradize" which is my favourite in the album, it is a neo soul CD to be reckoned with. "Mama's Sacrifice" is another wonderful song. The other thing you can appreciate from this CD is the lyrics which is positive in every way. We haven't seen in a long time. Simply wonderful CD. I want to see her live shows though. They are the best in DC area.

I recently began (attempting) belly-dance. Looking for music that was condusive to free-style dancing, both upbeat and slow moves, and stretching was difficult to find incorporated into 1 cd. This was perfect! I found myself getting lost in the music and not being so self-conscious about my flawed beginner steps. It has helped me to relax a bit more and progress a bit more rapidly.

This CD is impressive. My wife uses it to teach yoga, for massage therapy, and we also listen for pleasure around the house. I would like to see more from this group on Amazon.

The freshest music I've heard in years........1999-07-23

I did not know what to expect with this CD, but it has come to be my favorite. It is full of Eastern nuance, heavy on ambience and, at times, even mysterious. Overall it is new, unusual and beautiful.
